That was done intentionally so it wouldn’t be clear which side of the war was which political ideology. The director wanted people to focus on the idea of a civil war rather than a more realistic split of the nation and have the audience choosing between republican and democrat side of the war

Ich habe eine Kinodauerkarte, habe den Film zwei Mal auf Deutsch und dann zwei Mal in OV im Imax, alleine dafür hat sich die Karte im Monat Mai gelohnt. 👍 Wer viel Geballer erwartet wird enttäuscht sein, nur sollte man das wissen wenn man einen Film von Garland / A24 schaut. 🤷

Whilst people may be unhappy with their financial situation, it’s not the same as a southern uprising based on economical change to the magnitude of slavery. I can’t see this happening again. probably because it was marketed as the 'saving pvt ryan' of this decade. but the actual movie was not it. I saw it, and it was a good movie in and of itself, with a solid message but it was not a movie with the focus on battle strategy and the plight of the soldiers specifically. I think most people got mad at that fact. But it shouldn't be at the writer, the anger should be to those who were advertising this.

Yet another disappointing Hollywood piece of crap. I had hoped but yet disappointed again. Evidently Hollywood can't get their heads out of their asses to make good original movies anymore. I hope all movie theatres do close. But it doesn't matter for me I haven't been to a theater in over a decade and I have absolutely no desire to ever go back. Thank god i didnt see this stupid piece of shit trailer before i watched the movie. Its like the trailer is for a completely different movie. Civil war is a more like a roadmovie and a loveletter to the work that the press does in wars, not a stupid action flick!
