For those of you still trying to figure it out, there's nothing you can say when this happens. The one with the weapon had already decided to kill you.
@@BillyTibb He's got range in talent, played a good role as a cavalry officer in "Hostiles" and as the lead investigator in "Killers of the Flower Moon."
Dude I was thinking the same thing too. That's what made it so unsettling, he was toying with them because he seems to enjoy killing. Probably just using the war as an excuse to fulfill his homicidal urges. He didn't care where they were from, he was gonna kill them all after he had his fun toying with them, picking them off one by one.
This scene really displays the true human nature of trying everything you can to get out of a situation of being killed/executed. Joel lying about where they’re heading and telling a “feel good story” about a university opening to get a sense of ease from the gunman, but to no avail he knows whatever he can say, he’s not getting out of it. Everyone’s sudden panic when the Hong Kong guy gets killed just shows that they are next and their frantic cries they let out is out of true fear and survival mode. Never seen a scene that shows true human natures in its potential last moments than this one right here
He was a retard for thinking that saying he was a journalist was anything worth something and then without a plan coming up with some bullshit story on the spot. other dude could of just said Kentucky but he was also retarded and said china. don't hit me with "well he didn't look like he was from Kentucky" because joel already wasn't from Florida so he would of shot him already.
Sammy's suspicions were in fact true when he said they obviously didn't want anyone to see what they're doing so they were gonna kill any body who saw it regardless
"Better to have a gun you don't need, than to need a gun you don't have." - This here's a textbook situation for that quote.

if Jesse's character knew anything it is that you have a short range weapon and a long range weapon.... and know when to use each. other then that, yup this is how it goes down EXCEPT I'd be pretty aware of a huge suburban barreling towards me. ;)
dude with the shades? come on man his Jesse Plemons hes an oscar nominee been part of great stuff like breaking bad, black mass, judas and the black messiah, the power of the dog, fargo tv series, el camino breaking bad movie, game night and this cameo in favor of his wife Kirsten... hes not a dude hes a really good actor learn his name JESSE PLEMONS
So may edits cut out the part folowing "What kind of American" ... "Central American, South American" ... Jese's character is clearly an American nationalist. And he is aligned with the Western alliance in the film - Including Florida. Which is why he gave the Floridian journalist the pass despite his hispanic race. There is a lot to this scene that the partial edits distort.
Definitely agree but I also think he's probably a white nationalist. Notice that he doesn't ask the first Asian guy he shoots where he's from at all. When he asks Joel the "...Central American, South American?" question, I took that as him not recognizing him as part of the US at all, simply seeing him as an immigrant from a country out of Central or South America. He probably does give him a temporary pass until he deals with Tony but immediately gets hostile when Joel tries to call him down. To be honest though, like Sammy said earlier, none of them were likely to walk out of there alive. What psychopath would let 3 witnesses go, regardless of their skin color or political affiliation, after seeing him commit a double homicide right in front of them while burying dozens of bodies in the process?
@@Garian9he shot that dude because he was OBVIOUSLY a Chinese national, he barely spoke English. Theres literally nothing that implies he's anything other than a nationalist.
I’ve met just as many urban leftists who wouldn’t think twice about doing exactly the same thing to me and my family. Perhaps you shouldn’t be so swift to allow yourself to be so easily manipulated by movies with deliberate agendas.
@@Reacher_2215 Oh, come now. Certainly the right wing conservatives would put up a good fight, they have many, many guns, and little regard for the sanctity of life, but in the end intelligence wins out over might, the infighting amongst conservatives, the inability to think big picture and with regarding to consequence of actions, and an overall inability to strategize would leave the left a pretty wide open lane to victory.
Lesson learned: Don't approach someone with guns who you believe intends to use them and demand something from them when you have no means to ensure your own safety or success.
I havent seen anyone mention: when Joel makes the joke about hiking Jesse's character shifts the gun to a more accessible position but also puts his finger on the trigger. Lee notices, Joel tries to play it off.
@@Reacher_2215 hahhaaahah fr man. Desperation. Also I deleted one of my comments because I made the same comment twice on account of the first one disappearing after I posted it but then it came back so cleaned it up a little 💪
Yeah not sure why people flipping at that point, Hong Kong got taken over by China before the deal was up. So Hong Kong during a Civil War, I'm shocked he's in the country.
This movie scene reminds me of Bosnia. Serbs forces did similar things to Bosniaks and Croats. Even tho they spoke the same language. Mass graves and people being shot cold blood...
You will soon live with the "greenies" and understand them. It's easy to judge us when you're far away from them. upd: Ah, lol, you're green. I'll meet you on the battlefield
This scene brilliantly captures a key difference between wars between states and civil war: in the latter life gets very cheap and the line between life and death gets very blurred - in the mind and in reality.
There journalists. They aint there to fight or survive. You know not a lot of civilians during a civil war get to travel with guns nor want to because then you're 30x more likely to be shot.
Is it as impressive as when an average european leaves their own country at least once in their lifetime to travel abroad? Cause statistically europeans are way less traveled than Americans, and thats not even considering how many europeans don't leave the european continent.
@@DesertStateInEU Not even correct at all. Only 29% of Americans have been abroad. The Average German has been to 8 countries, average French has been to 5. It's logic really, Europe is a continent with minimal border restrictions and free travel, many people live nearby another country. Thousands of Swiss go to France, Germany or Italy every week to do grocery shopping.
You don't find out. It seems Jesse was hit worse than the other guy, who kind of got a glancing blow. The third soldier should have been watching their backs.
hey man any chance you could upload the next like 5 minutes of the movie immediately after this? i wanna use it for a project, much appreciation for you for uploading this one!
Meanwhile, in present day America, Democrats are begging for a "Schindler's List 2", this time in the West Bank. Adolf Hilter would be so proud of white Biden voters if he was still alive. They're probably his direct descendants.
@@yamadkiddo8028 yeah I’m aware of that, and that 90% of people use the red one. How much do you think Elton John here knew when he was playing the part?
From the film it show mostly what bad about right winger rather than show what happen with all militia type group. like C>H>A>Z (Capitol Hill Occupied Protest) were where the protestor got mad at a ambulance for not helping those shot inside. Partially since protestor dance on top of the ambulance and refuse to move away and also without police escort they can't move by law. As first responders such as firefighter or paramedic were un alive during incident where gun was involve. newly released police footage from a May shootout in Appleton, Wisconsin, shows paramedics reviving Ruben Houston - who reportedly was suffering from an opioid overdose on a coach bus - before the man pulled a semi-automatic on the first responders. He fired two shots, killing a firefighter and injuring a police officer. After an investigation, the Outagamie County district attorney said the two police officers involved were justified in fatally shooting Houston. Not only that many of the protestors had barricade the whole area so even then they couldn't navigate drug infested cesspool. The king pin of CHOP was militia. of particular concern for locals has been the recent spate of gun violence in the area. There have been four shootings in CHOP since its inception, and a shooting Sunday evening left one person dead and another hospitalized. “It’s clear that there is gun violence associated with CHOP,” said Justin. “There are young people with weapons. There are very well-trained volunteers with weapons. There’s just a lot of guns in the area
I have a question, everyone. Which side from "Jesse Plemon" was, like who was he? Or he was just a trackless military person from no side, which one he was?
I assume the American nationalists were all the states other than Florida and texas; they saw them as traitors which then enhanced their own nationalism and so he was on the side of "America." He wouldn't hesitate to execute anyone he deemed to be a traitor to this country. He is on the governments side.
Non thinkers breed non thinkers. Pacifiers breed pacifiers Follow the leaders breed follow the leaders Non reality breeds non reality Compliance breeds compliance Shall we keep going???
Fifty fUkN states and he says Hong Kong? If a white guy with red glasses and a gun asks you where you’re from you say Alabama with a forest gump accent!!!
Some movies have scenes that I can watch 100 times and love them. This may be, for me, the most memorable scene in the movie, and the actor was not the original one cast for the role, absolute genius.
The look of terror on Jessie's face and in her voice when she said she did not what the 'Show me State' was absolutely incredible. Very intense. Actually hard to believe that young woman was 23 when they filmed this!
