** Civil war is a song I first hear a few years ago after band practice. My band's guitarist would drive me home after rehearsal and stick on music in the car. We listened to a lot of Led Zeppelin, Ghost, Iron Maiden, and Guns N' Roses to name a few. At that point in time all the GNR I knew was Appetite for Destruction (since I owned the CD) and whatever they played on the radio. After Hearing this song I started looking into more of their stuff and I found some tracks I really like (like You Could be Mine, Knockin' on Heaven's Door, Live and Let die, Patience, and so on). It's a shame they split after a while, but they're back together now, so lets enjoy it while we can.
I found these videos:
• GN'R Civil War live Ro...
shows the slide into the first note
• Video
at 4:40 you can see the positioning for the chorus
at 5:17, you can see duff at the 2nd fret or so while he's laying on the ground
at 6:18, you can see him around the same spot in the solo. They really need to stop showing slash's butt. It's not a nice butt.
at 6:50 you can see the general positioning of the chorus again
• Video
most of the shots of duff are passing and hard to tell much
3:48 you can see the interlude "no never" all by the 2nd fret
5:01 looks like he's at the 3 and 5 before the verse after the 2nd solo. hand doesn't move much
6:36 in the solo you can see the back of Duff's hand for the general positioning
• Guns n' Roses - Civil ...
3:31 duff is down by the 2,3,5 for the chorus
4:06 duff is at bar 63/64
5:57 duff is at bar 102
6:15 he doesn't do what's on the track
6:27 bar 112 and 113, duff is by the 0/2 and not 5/7, looks like he continues that thru the end
• Guns N Roses Civil W...
4:17 shows the slide in bar 40
5:43 shows the position in solo 2. This shows a lot that the other videos have
• Guns N Roses - Civil War
2:15 you can see most of the 2nd verse
and 5:46 you can see some of the solo 3
Thanks for watching! Enjoy :)
