Hey, first time viewer here, loved the content, and gave you another subscribe! Good work. I have 2 elementums, one being the stonewashed D2 with Marbled CF. Another being the stonewashed S35VN with the Jade G-10. Both are amazing knives, I tend to use the D2 for heavier work because I know it can take a beating. I use the S35VN model for more fine cutting, and they are both immaculate knives. I also haven't had any problems with the D2 corroding. Keep your blades oiled & they will last a long while.

Thanks for another great video, Jay! The only Elementum I own is the copper model. I'd love to add a S35VN model to the collection, but I won't buy another one until they show us some lefty love. Great video. I have both the Copper D2 and the s35vn with jade scales and my Son has a OD Green G10 one. I agree on the differences especially that the s35 is way more slicier and the action on the copper is sluggish. I did a video on my channel looking at the 3 of them right after the s35 dropped. Also the s35 Elementum is my 3rd most carried knife behind the Bugout and Banter.

Hey Jay, love your style! I have the Elementum with copper scales. I agree with you that the action is not great and it is heavy, however it feels substantial and more premium. It is unique in my collection.

Love the Elementum, probably my favorite EDC knife. I'd like to get a S35V version, but my favorite so far is the shredded carbon fiber version with the bead blast finish. It looks awesome :)

Just ram across you and watched a few vids. You had me with skateboards and fishing! But love your knife love. Now I'm a rare breed on the Elementum. I love the OG button lock. That thing didn't leave my pocket from the April 19th it came out til Xmas a few weeks ago. Also have a fixed Elementum I carry as well. Don't have the new one but I'm excited for it. I've never had a stick problem but you def made me anxious to get it. The last video I watched got me because I have required a finger choil for a bit now. I was on the Sencut video but def goin for he Odium next now. Have the Cormorant in my pocket now and almost lost ya on your opinion but I get it. A blade only a Mother could love. Lol. And I'm not a mother which is why I'm going for a new one. Tho I love the Serape. So Odium and Grazioso are lined up. Grazioso is first finger choiless for years. And I have a lot of others I'm kicking around. So glad to take any suggestions. Keep up the food work. Love the content.

Got the D2 copper and the Stonewash S35VN green Micarta. I liked the copper but when I got the upgraded well it was a wash. Thanks for the video, great as always.

The elementum is a great knife. I bought the s35vn on bhq with the nat g10 scales (which I didn’t like). After getting some custom micarta scales made, this knife always finds its way into my pocket

I have the grey g10/D2 elementum and I love it! But I would love to get one of the black s35vn blades with either micarta or jade g10, I like them both! But regardless the elementum is my favorite budget knife with the Bestech Texel in a close 2nd!! Awesome video jay! Oh and I got my channel stickers in mail today, thank you so much 😊

I just got my Elementum Wednesday. It's the same as yours in black s35vn. Everything came perfect detent, centering, action, and edge. Nice early but still safe lockup too. The only thing that seems different are my scales look whiter and very grippy like they have a rougher sanding(not complaining, it's nice). I agree with you on the pocket clip but it looks like Civivi cut out the liner where the holes would be drilled on that side. I'm anxious to see if can keep up with my Mckenna as it's easily my best slicer so far. Have fun on the trip and good luck Jay, hope you catch a stringer full.

Just got my Elementum D2 in grey Micarta in the mail. I live in Japan so that was quite a feat if I’m being honest, as what is a $50 knife turns into a $70 knife that has to get through customs without picking up import fees. It has an awesome deployment and a wonderful carry, but now I’m coveting that S35VN blade because of you lol

Jay we both have good taste brother S35VN BLACK AND GREEN MICARTA 4sure. Not a fan of the new copper wave sweeping the knife community but i do appreciate makers that take the different approach and try new and old materials. Be safe and have fun fishing hope you get a big one !! Hey just had a good idea 4 the channel and a different approach with knives, take a blade(folder please)with you and modify it into spear for spear fishing. That would be a great content , no other reviewer has done that at least i hope not. Easy materials also : knife , cordage, and a sturdy straight stick! As always thanks for the awesome content!

I've owned the G10, wood, Damascus/CF, Brass, and now the micarta S35VN version. The thinner S35VN version feels like what the Elementum should have always been. I feel like it's more of a cohesive build and design now. It's a keeper. What I don't like about the new one is the detent, at least on mine. They are focusing so much on "impossible to fail" that they have made the detent just too hard in my opinion. It's not a large flipper tab. I've always done a push button open for this one but it's not as comfortable to deploy that way now. They could have dialed back that detent a bit and it would still deploy everytime, it would just be easier to do.

Have a great time on your trip! No snags or panfish, just smooth casts and fat bass! I'm not much of a flipper fan, but would love the s35vn version... If I can ever find it not marked up on the secondary market by scalpers selling it for double, or catch it in stock. Worth a try some day whenever the hype train slows down.

I have 2 g10 variants (green and blue) and the brass. The action tends to get gritty after some use. I clean them out with compressed air and lube with KPL. Action is drop shut after. My brass one had the best action out of box. It’s a safe queen (for now) so the action remains smooth and drop shutty. As always, thanks for the great content! This is a cool video. I've been wishing for stainless since the original D2 model came out. I'd have been happy with VG-10 or 14C28N but this is a good price for S35VN. I really like that they thinned out the blade for the S35VN version. I wish more EDC knives would follow that trend. The lack of lefty love stinks but I have to admit. I really like not having extra holes, indents, or filler plates in that scale. It would be really nice if companies could figure out a way to make lefty versions or scales available.

Got the Ebony simply because these things were so hard to get in Canada and it was the only one available. Wasn't aware there was a S35 model out. Rats! Now I have to watch out for that one now. Not sure I shd thank you for that info. But thanks anyway.

I’ve had a few, all D2, and seriously open and close so nice and perfectly. The machining rug on the blade is perfect and subtle while being complicated. Very cool knife for $50 Remember, the E2 is a good deal thicker. So if size matters get the original Elementum.

Brown micarta here. It does have great action! I got it because of a different secret about the Elementum. I was upset because my basically new RAT2 in D2 had started rusting in the liner! The Elementum has stainless liners though. Nice touch if you be getting your knife wet from time to time. I still really like my R2D2 with carbon fiber scales a lot though.

I have the OD green micarta with D2 blade. Bought the Pintail to try out the S35VN and like it but the ergos on the Elementum are better to me than on the Pintail. Might have to get the S35VN Elementum as well.

I only have one Civivi Elementum and it's the Brown Micarta, D2 blade steel version and I love it. I've tuned it up and it operates flawlessly. The CPM-S35VN model seems nice and the Damascus w/ G10 carbon fiber version also looks interesting. Hey how about the wood handle Elementum.

I got the same green micarta black stonewash Elementum, though I'm sad to report mine has a weak detent. My original elementum (the carbon fiber w/ damascus version) has a perfect detent--you cannot fail to deploy the knife. This new one though, I feared I was going to have to send it back, until I figured out a new way to flip it. Instead of "light switch" flicking the flipper, I can apply pressure angled more inward toward the pivot (~45 degrees between pivot and down the spine) to get it to reliably deploy. As a bonus, the weaker detent makes it far more "drop-shutty" and it still has rock solid lockup. I love it, I just wish it was as satisfying to flip as my original.

I have one in D2 steel, green micarta, and a black oxidized blade. Its my only good flipper, as I own mostly lockbacks, but great for when Im not gonna be using my knife very hard. And as for the pocket clip tip up is the only way to carry it.

I think my favorite is the Jade S35VN. The best action though, that belongs to my Gray G10 Ele. My first purchase of the Elementum. I have too many different versions that I passed on the latest green one cause I don’t care much for the slick micarta they use. Have a great trip dude! I hope they’re bitin!

I recently picked up the s35vn version in the green micarta and it’s honestly blown my expectation out of the water. I’ve got several more expensive knives, but the Civivi has better action, better fit and finish, and a better factory edge than most of them. I think my Bugout CF Elite is probably still my favorite knife overall, but the Elementum is a very very close second.

The one thing they have going is there shop where they machine. The quality of machinery they have access too is better than most. Even Kizer struggles to make a simple well made knife.. Civivi makes it look easy.

Some right handed guys prefer to carry on the left side as well because the pew pew is in the right pocket. The Amazon box can wait while I clumsily pull the knife with my left hand but the other side must be quick and clean. I carry only knives with a reversible clip for that reason. The Elementum looks good but doesn't meet my needs in that regard. Nice review. 👍

I have three with D2, gray, micarta and brass. The gray one is the one with flipping troubles, but I still love it. My green micarta S35 is awesome, except that the front scale isn’t the same green as the back, it’s more of a whitish gray with green tint...if that makes sense. I’m overlooking that flaw because it’s such a great knife.

I got mine flipping as smoothly as my ZT 0460 by removing the heavy weight syrup like oil civivi used on the KVT bearings and replacing it with a dab of teflon grease. Same for the detent balls track. Now it flips butter smooth every time with no mis-flips.

I wish you would try the copper for cutting. I found in cutting over and over again on a factory job. Many made brass scales because cutting for 12 hours that heft made a difference in cutting. Just an experience from years in a factory.

I just got that bronze one. The action was really stiff when I first got it but after a few hundred flips it’s loosened up. Flip yours some to get it how you like.

I have the Brown mica rat, my first Elementum and the jade, my second. And…I just picked up both Elementum fixed blades the black tactical one with the kydex sheath and the satin blade with the beautifully stacked handle.

I will be buying a basic Elementum with D2 steel and black G10 scales, not because it’s the least expensive, but because I like the ease of sharpening (stropping) D2 and because I prefer G10 (fiberglass) to micarta. I am currently using a Wyvern and it’s the best knife I’ve ever owned. I want an Elementum only because the blade is slightly wider.

I have the brown micarta and D2 version and am glad that I missed the G10 and S35VN one in favor of next getting the green micarta and S35VN version. Sadly I will have to wait for the next restock. I am torn between the dlc and satin finish, think I will probably also go dlc. Looks good.

Haha, I bought the copper elementum first because it looked so awesome. I struggled to want to carry it due to the weight and action. At first I figure the elementum talk was just hype, but I am glad they dropped the s35vn in micarta. Some temptations are too strong. This knife is not only my favorite Civivi, but stands up to much more expensive knifes in my collection.
