28:45 You are spot on that 12 was jogging. This is one of the few occasions where the commercial view is more useful for determining that because you can visibly see the panic hit through his running form and body language as soon as he reaches his landmark to locate a potential pass his way.
@@hyperion4523 Just all around. They have the same poise and presence in the pocket and the same game. They are passers first, unbelievably in sync with their receivers. Just a beautiful style to watch. Go back and look at some film, esp some early film from the CFL, he is Warren Moon.
Reminds me of burrow and tbh Brady. Burrow didn’t do this his rookie year. stroud also went into Cincinnati and beat burrow with a way less experienced and talented team
This is the first time I find myself disagreeing with you. One thing to think about is how he is moving the defense and his abilities to not only read safeties but make quick plays in a split second. Its why I think CJ has seen so much success. The play he threw into double coverage. Watch his eyes/body. He locks onto the zig. Moving the LBs but more importantly the safety bites left. He sees that, flicks back and throws but the safety makes a outstanding play getting back into position to break it up. I think that was just a quick draw anticipation play where as soon as he saw the safety bite he threw to the post. On top of that, if Nico flattens out that route that is an easy catch and run. Instead he trails the safety and brings him back into the play. The play where he fades to Nico. He points right to the whip route. The crosser and most importantly that sluggo route Nico takes draws the safety inside so that as soon as nico cuts back up field there is no threat of that safety being able to recover. Nico reads that and knows exactly where he is going with it. Both instances he reads the safety and tries to make a splash play. If those safeties don't bite I think 1000% he throws it to Woods on that zig, and metchie on the whip, especially cause them being open is right in line, or just after he would be reading the safeties making it an easy next read. If anything I think it shows the absolute masterclass bobby is putting on and just how insanely good CJ is to being running in a system that puts all the pressure on his ability to make a mid play read, timing, arm and anticipation. On top of that just the insane chemistry that CJ and his WRs have this early on in their time together.
As soon as I saw it was up I clicked on it. I have been missing your coverage of C.J.! I don't know if we can beat the Ravens on Saturday but I do believe we can make a game of it, if C.J. keeps playing like this.
Will you be doing a breakdown of Tua’s performance in the Wild Card game? Would love to see a more in depth analysis of what went wrong with him and McDaniel.
On the defensive formation, you nailed it. It’s an inverted tampa 2. It’s a good disguise against tight formations. They probably called two plays, a cover 3 match and inverted cover 2 depending on how the offense lines up.
wow I completely love your breakdowns and how much detail you put in the play as a whole the shovel tunsil needs to get that right arm on that dt to help the center but miles Garrett did get there so fast and I would love a 2 hand fake like that could have been td if he didn't have to switch hands you just blew my mind with that plus your showing me something I never realized as a texans fan and been to plenty of games including the very first in reliant EVERY 1 IS WIDE OPEN OMG 🎉 not t9 knock chase Daniel but you have completely shown me like pandoras box and let me open it nicely done
bobby sloeck is one hell of a coordinator, hes probably gonna get poached for a head coaching opportunity but me as a fan of the nfl in general would love to see him stick around and be the josh mcdaniels to demeco's belecheck.
I'm purely speculating, but I think the Browns are playing 2 Invert when you're noticing the Post safety playing Flat footed. Ecspecially the play after your halftime. The way the Overhangs run to play Cloud and the way the CB at the bottom is playing more midpoint like he's a Half player and not a 3rd player. Or Schwartz let's them play crazy aggressive because he doesn't think they'll have time to throw the Post lol. Idk.. Also, not trying to throw shade at 6 J.O.K but Slowick used his hyper aggressive/reckless playstyle against him all game.
Good eyes. That middle safety has the main read. He can sink in and help the linebacker or he covers the center. It’s honestly a hell of a concept and takes a quick thinking safety
The Ravens better not go into the Game on Saturday half stepping. If they do, C.J. Stroud will open up a can of whoop ass and BEAT the BREAKS off of'em! That DeMeco Ryan Defense is off the HOOK!
It's exciting to have a couple of potential superstar QBs on the rise in Stroud & Love! We've seen the last wave of young QBs sort of peter out, or struggled with injuries, so here's hoping they can both stay healthy and keep ballin!
Herbert, Tua, Trevor, Hurts. All dealing with some issues that are holding them back and I think both Stroud & Love are set up with the strong coaches and talent to continue to shine.
I looks to me like they are trying to run a Tampa 2 concept with that middle field safety there focusing a lot on trying to stop things like a seam or a deep in or a deep slant that CJ has done such a great job throwing this whole year. I say that based on how the outside backers seem to sprint out every play as if their job is the flat and the two outside corners are sprinting out deep every play but maybe I’m wrong.
I was at the game, the throw in question at the 9 minute mark, as I can remember, Nico busted open way faster than the zig route from Metchie. 100% throw this to Nico if you've got eyes down field, less than ideal ball placement make it a circus catch rather than a walk in touchdown.
I dunno , the quality of available head coaches for hire is pretty strong this year (including two of the fired coaches in BB, Vrabel, and to a lesser degree Pete Carroll) then you have harbaugh. Ben Johnson is a sure fire hire if he wants it , he turned down everyone that wanted to interview last year to give it another go w Goff .
For the play at 28:19 (the missed deep shot), the receiver is hesitating to get the safety to bite down a little bit and then blow past him. He's not supposed to sprint straight through or else the safety is going to maintain even pace with him. Yes "if we're even I'm leaving" and yes you can just throw a jump ball, but with the hesitation steps, he gets more separation as shown
when that guard gets beat by that stunt....this should telll u who cj is had he waited for the deep shot he gets sacked and they said he wouldnt be good enough to overcome bad play of his teammates lmao
their is say that nico won't probly admit but he didn't think cj could throw that far lol but he should have been full speed but Maybe it was a type of sluggo seam where he just kinda half speeds and then just puts on the burners when he realizes he got the safety beat
They played the aggressive defense against themselves. They are good and they don't think we are. Make them hurt themselves. Great coaching in my opinion. I would love for you to break down some defense too, two different parts of the game, and u know both pretty well
Stroud one weakness is that he does not like to go for the easy 5 yards. He tends to prefer to take the deep shots. I think he sees the short open passes, but he usually wants more. But then again stroud only had 5 incompletions and one was dropped and one was overthrown/miscommunication.
That underhand pass and low away throw were not turnover worthy. All time great defensive players would not make those plays. The throw he made in traffic would of been tough to get a turnover on that one as three players collided. That’s it, that’s all his incompletions. Not bad.
@@IronMikeBison I’m talking about throughout the season he had 1 bad throw in this game but 5 interceptions don’t show how much he’s put the ball in harms way he’s still protected the ball very well but turnovers are not just a qb stat dbs drop them or the bounce off a receivers hands
I feel you some1 hopefully Bobby will have cj 2 hand this snap and fake and would make him more mobile as well I feel like unless your capernick in his prime at San Fran seem like he always was running tds with 1 hand ☝️
Absolutely, love your vids! I wouldn't change much on this offense, other than staying healthy of course and adding a dynamic pass catching RB. Any suggestion for Texans offense?
JT would love to get a compare/contrast video of CJ vs JF. CJ obviously doing some things very well, but how much is QB related vs OC. Love what Slowik is doing in Houston.
"CJ could be better but left MULTIPLE, multiple big plays out there." Explain how? He was 16-21, the five incompletes were the 1 big play that he over threw (that's 1), the drop by the TE up the sideline, the poor choice up the middle that was a 10yd throw (you wanted the 3 yard option), the incomplete shovel pass in the red zone when the center whiffed his block, and the incomplete on the flat in the red zone. Where's the "multiple" big plays that CJ left out there? I swear sometimes analysts just be talking with nothing to say.
@@TheQBSchool Exactly, contributing mistakes from the TE and C to CJ and acting like he himself missed multiple big plays is hacky analysis. Not hard. Thanks for replying.
@@TheQBSchool No problem! I always like to give back to the needy. And judging from the insecurity oozing from your comments here, there aren't many more needy than you.
Notice how someone's in position, open (or about to come open if it's thrown with A), with his head turned around at the right moment that Stroud can throw the ball as soon as he hits his drop. As a Bears fan I can't say I've ever seen a single play where that was the case for the Bears in the last 30 years. Real talk; why the fuck am I still a fucking Bears fan?
3Match -- Not really anything that unusual, except Schwartz is always a bit overaggressive w/ not enough variety, imo. Easy to execute but easy to scheme against. He has to have good players who execute - gets harder to pull this off vs playoff teams where you might run into hot offenses .. I agree w/ JT it looks a little crazy seeing the deep S match up on a sail route - good route design by an OC who was banking on a DC who wasn't going to gameplan that much different than he's done all yr.
a lot of the time he throws to a spot with impeckable timing and if a WR slips a little on the break or slows up a little the ball is just out of reach. i saw that happen 2 or 3 times during the season in other games and it impressed me even more. he is a human clock
when i saw cj stop having vids on the youtube channel i stopped clicking may have even un subbed lol good to have him bacc no i dont have patreon or discord prolly never will
*Let's be honest... Most of the viewers for this video are Ravens fans.. lol* #GOTEXANS #CJ7 #OPOY #OROY #ROY #TRIPLECROWN #MVPCONVERSATION ! #SWARMENTALITY #AFCSOUTH #PLAYOFFS
@@Texansfan59i agree. i like cj and dont question his overall ability. but people are acting like he played this all time rookie playoff game where imo he played alroght
Not necessarily defending pff, but they had stroud at #7 of 12, behind Love, Mahomes, Stafford, Goff, Mayfield and Allen. If you watched all the games, I think Love and a couple of others having a higher grade makes sense, but many of these grades are pretty bad imo.
