The bards will sing for generations of Stannis the Mannis and his legendary 97 kills at Lushfield. The malding maesters will cope and seethe and insist he was actually at Gulltown.
Melisandre glamoured Mance to be at Gulltown freeing up Stannis to fight at Lushfield. And of course, he didn't die later. That was Rattleshirt, obviously
As one of the guys who modelled the castles (Pyke, Castle Black, Eastwatch, the Shadow Tower and White Harbour was me, in addition to the Pyke court), it's great to see the reception that they are getting. Makes me want to make more castles, and other stuff...
My first game of this was as Ned, and *drum roll* 1. Catelyn died in childbirth along with our first kid 2. Robert got killed by Rhaegar in the first battle of the rebellion 3. Rhaegar was killed by some random schmuck in that same battle. 4. Jaime killed the mad King and all the Targaryens were murdered save for Viserys who disappeared without a trace, and Maester Ameon 5. Stannis became King and executed 6 year old Renly for reasons. 6. Someone killed Roose Bolton in a duel 7. After Jon Arryn died Lysa Tully tried to sleep with me 10/10 Lore accurate would recommend.
In CK2 we could attach allied armies to our armies so I always divided 200 stacks and attached allies armies to them and boom I had new doom stacks, I wish they re-added that... They put a bit too much stock in their AI me thinks.
So this free mod does a better job at depicting Highgarden and Casterly Rock than the 100Million $ Dragon Show did? Just goes to show what enthusiasm can accomplish.
Eh their Casterly Rock is still not accurate, but they probably didn't know it when they modeled it. I wonder how they felt about George's blogpost about the true Casterly Rock.
@@zafelrede4884 they knew but as one of the dev said a mountain with a tiny tower on top wouldn’t look cool in the game, I honestly like they’re version more than cannons
>”I played a bit as Aerys, just as a test run, and it was really easy.” Tbh that’s pretty on brand considering Aerys and his ilk snatched defeat from the jaws of victory so many times.
This is quality content - I love it! Luckily you killed Rhaegar. Then he can become the Night King as he is predestined to be. You secured Arya her glorious moment of victory. That's really nice of you ✌🏻
I played as the Velaryons on the second bookmark and managed to get the lordship of dragonstone from Stannis after that I don't really know what to do, I can't wage wars because law does not allow it and then I can't challenge the great houses because they're too strong. Any tips? I'm a noob when it comes to ck3.
@@dept308 Learn to min-max the game. CK3 is a terrible grand strategy game and a terrible rpg, so once you watch some tutorials on how to break it, it's very easy to basically auto-win every single campaign.
@@TheOwneroftheIC With good mods it's really not a terrible gs or rpg (this mod still needs tons of flavor and variety to make it on par with its ck2 predecessor), but where's the fun knowing you'll just always win? There's no intrigue or meaning to anything at that point.
@@TheOwneroftheIC It's not meant to be min-maxed, this isn't eu4. How are you going to recommend something which makes the game significantly worse, then say the game is bad. RPing is what ck3 is meant for, not mix-maxing.
The sequel to the best mod CK2 had is here, and how fitting that the new DLC for the game that will be released can be summed up as Robert Baratheon simulator.
I think the glitches you have with stannis are because you didn't follow the canon event chain. You were meant to siege the main castle at gulltown and make them leave the war, then you get an event to leave gulltown by sea to storm's end and then raise your levies there and start sieging and battling. It's too rigid, but we can't be nitpicky. They've done some great work and they only deserve praise for it. What they did to the armies AI deserves the most praise. Towards the end of the war, you could see your allies basically follow you around the map in a horde, ready to join major battles and carpet siege provinces. I haven't played vanilla CK3 in months but I'm pretty sure that wasn't there.
Funny enough you actually chose the best spot to spawn your army. The main thing you gotta do is defeat the stormland loyalists to reclaim the land and get their men. And spawning there forces them south, where if you spawn south it lets them rally with the loyalists in Kingslanding.
I know the Aegon’s regent’s AI was the one deciding to just take a bunch of hostages but I like to think that Aegon got in a fight with Rhaenys and said “I’ll show you! I’ll get new friends!”
On the launch of CK2, the revolt system functioned similarly to AGOT, the revolters were considered independent. This resulted in third parties picking revolters apart (which was good in long term because it weakened blobs). In their infinite wisdom, the developers reworked the revolt system to its current form, which is still used in CK3.
Imo your biggest blunder was getting Stannis killed on a battlefield, while he was besieging a castle somewhere else entirely. Typical Stannis stuff ngl.
would be wild, if you got schwifty to play a game with you… either him making all the descions from the background or you teaching him how it all works beforehand and both of you playing as diffrent houses… bonus points if you bring out your drinking game rules from the chained wolf stream (still have the specific memory of watching that stream, when covid just dropped on the world and noone new what was going on, whilst being stuck in Auckland for a while) either way you and schwifty are always a good time and I think with this great of a mod you two together could get up to some wacky chaos
@@siddhartha894 Glimbo once did a stream where he tried a challenge in the CK2 mod.. It was basically trying to save house stark after ned gets imprisoned, meaning breaking him out and just being a good stark (don't remember most of the rules, but it was early covid and the stream basically turned into a drinking game... was a pretty fun thing to do whilst worrying the world was about to end)
it's crazy how glidus is how i originally got into ck through the drunken adventures of house manderly and ive now learned how to play the game just in time for this mod🙏🏾
I bought this game just to play this and. Holy shit. The fact that you can go through the heritages of characters from Aemon at the wall back to Aegon the Conquerer with accurate death descriptions and dates and siblings, nieces, nephews, etc blew my mind. The attention to detail is insane and as a fantasy history nerd I'm enjoying it so much
Did Aerys as my first playthrough, that is definitely way easier than in CK2, where I was able to barely escape the daggers of death and come out with a win. Tortured and executed all the traitors. Yeah, it's mad king time. Damn it's so fast on speed 5. Going from CK2 AGOT which is held together by duct tape to this is amazing. If this is your introduction to Paradox games people in comments, welcome to your new time sink. Well, time to Mandarly the North and make it Faith of the Seven 😁 Burn them trees, we don't remember nothing.
I rly hope he plays this more in the future on the channel. Such a fun game. I hope this has a shattered world thingie too, so he could establish a new kingdom as house Dustin or sth
Should have followed your lore instincts. If you keep Robert in the Vale and follow the “historic path” of taking Gulltown, him and his army get teleported home to Storm’s End (going by boat per the events, but teleporting in game terms. In my run he got home just in time to reinforce Stannis and the other Stormlanders fighting Mace Tyrell below Storm’s End. Was a long drawn-out battle where Robert ultimately won after winning back the Storm Lord vassals and slaying Rhaegar. Vale, Riverlands, North, and Iron Islands all showed up by the end. From there prepared to March on King’s Landing, but Tywin and Jaime did the rest.
Lord Borell knew that Robert would be the king just after Gultown , and yet still people are saying that the rebels dint know that Robert was going to be their claimant . Robert was the one with the best claim to the trone after Aerys children , obviusly he was going to be King if the rebels won
And why wouldn't Tywin or any of Aerys' lickspittles seize the opportunity to kill Aerys, declare Viserys, Aegon or even Rhaenys as King? Nobody knew how the chips were going to fall for sure since we have little insight into the mind of Jon Arryn or any of the big rebel leaders at the time. Hell, even the Dornish who had around 50K men in the field could have played Kingmaker if they weren't so soft-hearted about Elia.
@@loandbaxhuku9617 i said Robert would be the claiment of the REBELS , nôt Tywin or Aerys lipsticles Also how could Tywin from Casterly Rock do anything ? And what Orton Maeryweter is going to lead an army ? The Dornish send Aerys 10 000 men No IT was between Robert , Aerys or Rhaegar
Though I know jack all about Game of Thrones; I imagine the upside is now fans can have an ending to the story that the author apparently was/is unable to provide.
IIRC Patron Aspects were first made for Elder Kings 2 and the EK2 team gave the CK3AGOT team the code iirc, so its shared between multiple mods but is not vanilla
I've just been doing my own personal targaryen playthrough by breeding my kids with all the traits and then getting the with pureblooded so perfect kids everytime lol
