It was indeed. Gullit left, Rijkaard returned to Ajax and Van Basten wouldn’t play a game after the 1993 CL final due to his injury, his ankle was destroyed. Milan had an incredible team during the late80s/early90s wich had to do with those 3 exceptional Dutch players. When they left, some of the brilliance left also.

By the mid 90's he was past his prime
