I miss her. Honestly Olivia is amazing but it's not the same. Claire can convey so much emotion in her eyes and her facial expressions it's honestly unreal. For sure not forgetting that performance anytime soon.
I was floored by the level of nuance she brought given the courtesan nature of a queen where a micro expression or blink conveyed her character. As I catch up, I’m glad to have googled to discover she won an Emmy for her work.
I first saw her in Little Dorrit and was amazed by her acting skills. I wrote on her imdb page that I knew she'd be a big star one day. I'm finally vindicated! haha Ok. She's vindicated.
Since I saw her in Wolf Hall, where she is wicked good, I have hoped for to get juicy roles and pick up her Oscar. If two women who are not professional actors can get nominated then she should have no problem. Just, someone give her that role.
The part with Jimmy where he asked what going to happen on Friday and her answer remind me of the interview with Olivia Colman and I can’t remember who. They asked her what are her plans for February 14 and she was like not much why? It was the release date of her movie she was there to talk about 😂😂 same energy from two great queens
She is an incredible actress.....I am disappointed that she's not going to be in the 3rd season of "The Crown"...The new actress playing the queen is doing a great job too..but she isn't Claire..I also loved her in the "Girl in the Spider's Web"...what an extremely different role for her...wow, just proves what an incredibly versatile actress she is...love you, Claire!!..best of luck to you!!
Its true about the blonde thing... When I lived in Hollywood CA for a about a decade, I was often blonde haired. I noticed quite soon that people would often approach me far more (strangers) than when I had brown hair. I don't know why this happens, but it does, even for men. Maybe people are quite less intimidated by someone hair-haired vs. brunette?
And it's OK for her to play an American, my stars, John Lithgow played one of the most important people in history - and no one had a problem with his not being British.
Claire played the "sexy" queen -- which most people have now forgotten. Queen Elizabeth was a very beautiful, young Queen in 1952. Yes, she turned into everyone's mother, or grandmother -- but, 70 years ago, she was "hot". Sorry, not trying to be disrespectful at all. She was beautiful at 96, but I can see what the young Prince Phillip saw in her too.
Olivia's version is more like a stone cold bitch. Which is kinda closer to the queen we have today. I think it's meant to reflect the loss of humanity that comes with such a responsibility
Today's talk-show hosts don't know to ask the proper question. It's all about the nonsense trivia. No research, no in depth subject. Just filling screening time with an expensive guest.
