As I’ve had to say I multiple times I’ll just put it here. The reason why some clips are so cut up is because I had to do it like that because when I didn’t the video got blocked hence the cutting up. I didn’t do it for the fun of it.
@@liamdaly2286 yeah, i know. I've watched all his appearances in Big Fat Quiz, Travel Man, Graham Norton,... and many more. He's great and i may have a problem.
or like when a teacher tries to get the class clown to behave by putting the well behaved quiet kid next to them, only for it to backfire spectacularly
@@shnpio Regrettably, no. It's just wishful thinking on my part. Maybe after they rescue "Doctor Who" from the ashes after Chibnall's destruction of the franchise, Anthony Horowitz (again, wishful thinking, but spot-on logical) would select Ayoade to become the Doctor. He is tailor-made for the role IMHO.
@@ze_rubenator Yeah, the show's is all about outside the box thinking, whereas he's more of a "But I really like this box, it's a nice box" Kind of guy.
Apparently he was supposed to be on for one season, but he was too busy with travel man so he had to drop out. Now that he's quit travel man, I hope he will go on now
the way he just keeps insisting it was his mom and was serious about it... that's priceless. He took a childish insult and turned it into a comedy goldmine.
@@louiswarde-jones2435 to me he seemed a bit annoyed but was using that feeling to put on a show. Basically using real emotion to inspire a hilarious act.
Mel B just was lost in dealing with Richard. She looked like that girl in school who took herself way too seriously and couldn't handle any other kind of personality.
Being close to Richard when he does his thing and all she can do is to say, in a serious tone: "You know you're a little bit weird". That's pretty sad. She should just have kept quiet. I don't think they brought her there for her excellent judge of character anyway. :-)
@Scott's Precious Little Account Although, well not you specifically but someone like you, existing one moment then not. Imagine for a moment you're wrong and Hell is here/somewhere in reality. You but not really you blink and all of a sudden you er someone else looks around confused. Well let's just call him Bob. Bob's befuddled can't remember what happened a few moments before or how he got there wherever there is. Then imagine for a moment Bob feels a tapping on his shoulder. Turning around reveals the former angelic visage of Lucifer Morningstar himself. *Smiling, well let's just refer to him as Samael Lucifer Morningstar, The Devil, Ruler of Hell who was the one being closest to God until God's creation and love for us drove a wedge between these two cosmic beings. These creatures who after forever God just decided to create and gift small things like free will and unconditional love.* Well now for a moment imagine that the Devil, Ruler of Hell got his hands on what's his name again? Um oh wait a minute I remember it's Bob. After Bob turns around confused Samael Lucifer Morningstar smacks him across the face. Then the Prince of Lies grabs Bob by the hair on top of his head, which is there even if Bob became bald later in life drags Bob's worthless soul down to... well you know. Most likely I'm full of it I know. You may not believe in the Devil but that doesn't matter if the Devil believes/hates all of us because God loves us more than he did the closest to him before we came along. I've had a few beers and I am messing around. Probably won't remember what I typed. Just thought I'd share some BS that's been rattling around in my cranium. Wanted to share a POV that maybe you've never considered. Stay safe wish you and those close to you nothing but the best.
Everyone is so hard on her for that appearance, but I think it was intentional. I think she played into being the 'straight man' to help the dynamics because so many of the favorites were doing the Decade Quiz that year. I mean, why else would she actively point out Ayoade eating a banana if not to create a bit?
I didn’t mind her at all during that episode, she’s not a professional comedian so I didn’t expect her to be funny. I did feel that she wanted to let her guard down but just couldn’t relax.
@Ddhfacetyy Lol, this isn't on purpose, it's really weird to think Mel B would think about that, would think "i have to help Richard to be funny"...Everything is improvisation, is true. Mel B is just dumb.
@@at-ul2ub Lol...How can you think this is intentionnal ? It's really really weird...Obviously she wasn't thinking at all about " being the 'straight man' to help the dynamics", nobody do that, it doesn't exist, people act naturally. And even if people would do that, it would require to be way smarter than she is. She actively point out Ayoade eating a banana, because that's what she wanted to say, it was his thought, so she said it. She's not thinking about creating a bit, she's just kinda dumb and not funny.
Mel B giving off mad "mean girl thrust into the real world where people don't have to take her shit" vibes and I'm getting the most vindictive glee out of it.
Richard and Noel on Big Fat Quiz just reminds me of when the teacher puts the troublemaker next to the smart kid to try and stop him from causing trouble. And it backfires because the smart kid joins in with the bad kid
Still to this day I mourn the loss of The IT Crowd. One of the most brilliantly funny shows ever. Richard, Chris and Katherine (alphabetized by last name... Not how funny they are)
I get the impression that in the "celebrity" world she inhabits, calling someone 'weird' is a serious put-down. I imagine she would hate it if someone called her weird. Calling Richard 'weird' just means she doesn't understand his persona/character at all.
@@jrd33 exactly, the more you grow up, the more you see "weird" isn't really a term and its just you being unfamiliar with other people being that way. He's not weird, he just has enough brainpower to muster an intelligent witty and unique personality that she obviously has a hard time wrapping her head around.
Richard Ayoade shouldnt be hosting Crystal Maze. He should swap with Noel and host Bake off instead. Sarcastic remarks about cakes are more fitting his style of humour while noel will fit right in with those shiny sparkly costumes running around being all high energy.
Noel and Richard seem like they've been best friends their entire lives yet they're such an unlikely pairing. I imagine Noel hanging out with Richard so his parents would think he had at least one friend who was a good influence and Richard was with Noel to appear cooler. It's a mutually beneficial relationship.
I was filming a business event and Rylan Clarke should have been the host but couldn't make it, so RA was the replacement. He was so brilliantly dry and caustic about being the understudy to a vacuous 'celebrity' that I was in tears, but the stilted audience just didn't get it, which made it even more hilarious. Completely unique character.
They could be Hacker Cyber detectives. They never leave the office. It would be two hours of "We've tracked him to this ISP address.....oh, he's off again... "
My current theory knowing very little about both of their lives is that they live together and hate each other. My theory comes from the shower talk and that very tall bed scene. I will not be looking into this any further
She's acting too remember. Fake drama is funny. Someone had to comment on his eating the banana to setup the bit. You can't just give him credit, most great comedy skits have the straight man to setup and react to the funny man.
his voice changes drastically, ive only known his super nasally in character voice but the "your mum" jokes were in a much lower register (and u dont think it was for comedic effect because hes great at delivering dry jokes in his nasally voice as well)
An episode of Dr. Who with a Dr. Who glitch where he's a whole bunch of these in one episode - Richard Ayoade, David Mitchell, Jimmy, and so many more - all our quiz show faves and British, Irish comedians. Including Jo.. Heck they'd have to have 3-4 episodes. It would be epic. I mean even Foil Arms & Hog, Flight of the Conchords, Matt Berry, Olivia, Fry & Laurie, Tracy Ullman, just everyone.
You cut between a lot of different clips without being confusing. I'm not sure whether that's because you're a genius editor or because I've seen almost all of them many times before.
I found it annoying as looking forward to some really good bits and it would go to something different. The 'your mum' answer should never be split. It is beautiful in its entirety and loses something when done in bits.
somehow I think the whole rant about the sweets and the bullies at school was actually real rage. i think they touched a childhood memory nerve there or something.
it's how I found out about him... love that show! have watched it multiple times so far... and I have been watching everything I can find of him on youtube
