When I first moved to Canada, I actually did notice a lot of Canadians said “aboat”. But the longer I’ve been here, the less I notice it now. So maybe you’re just accustomed to it? Its definitely not as strong as they made it in the video for sure.

@@ro_ses​It actually depends, all Canadians don't speak the same way, there are dialectal variations, in Southern Ontario, we speak just like Americans and pronounce 'about' like Americans (General American accent).

Dont agree...that was a funny mix of Greek Spanish Italian whatever she thought could sound Southern European....Viggo Mortensen recently performed quite well his Italian accent in Green Book...I know Foy had to do that spot on...so she has to practice ! Love her btw 😉

As european, her accent was good. Italian speaking italian. But americans used to hear italian accent as mob brooklyn accent. So different.

I didn't mean to judge on a professional level, it wasn't a prepared job with a dialect coach, of course... But still better than the "Mario accent" Americans usually imitate... I'm 100% Italian, living in Italy.

(I know in French you don't do that, but in English you write with a capital letter when you mention nationalities or languages.) My husband is French but unfortunatelly he doesn't have this cute French accent. She was very good at it.
