ClamTK is no longer maintained, but it still works on most linux systems. Remember, ClamTK is the Graphical User Interface (GUI) for ClamAV. It is not the actual antivirus program. ClamAV still gets updates to keep your system safe. Dave M - No longer maintained gitlab.com/dave_m/clamtk/-/issues/144 ClamTK 6.18 github.com/dave-theunsub/clamtk/releases

Some people may have to configure the web proxy in order for ClamAV to work properly. The proxy must be defined in the freshclam configuration file. The link below will explain how to backup the freshclam.conf file and edit it. Yes, but it's rare. If a software developer changes a signature of their software it will create a false positive until it gets updated. ClamAV will create more false positives used in Windows since Windows uses .exe and .dll files. Malware and False Positive Report FAQ docs.clamav.net/faq/faq-malware-fp-reports.html To make sure your file or files are not infected you can check them online at VirusTotal to make sure your system is clean. VirusTotal www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload I hope this helps.
ClamAV 1.3.0-rc is the Pre-release version that may contain some bugs because it's not a stable release. However, it has some nice features added to it.
There's not a lot of choices to compare in Linux. Most companies no longer support free version of an Antivirus for Linux. I highly recommend browser addons such as Malwarebytes. There's a lot of utilities like Rootkit Hunter that can help find harmful files on your Linux system; however, most of these programs haven't been updated in quite a while. These programs usually find a lot of false positives too.
