I have recently switched from Windows 10 to Ubuntu Mate, a Linux based distribution, and I love it. I admit, it took me a while to get used to the new operating system and learn how to do the things I normally did on my Windows machine. I spent many hours looking online and at RU-vid videos to help me understand Ubuntu MATE. I found a lot of great resources by using Google and a lot of great information from people on RU-vid. So I decided that I would create a webpage to help newbie's that want to transition from Windows or some other operating system to Ubuntu MATE. I want to help them learn Ubuntu MATE without having to spend hours looking up things on Google or searching hours of for a particular video on RU-vid. The videos I create and put on RU-vid are embeded throughout my webpage at learnubuntumate.weebly.com. I am still in the early stages, so it is missing a lot of information at this moment. I'm on KDE, I have KDE Connect installed. But in Lollypop I don't see my phone in devices. It is crucial for me to send music from desktop player to my phone. How do I add a device to devices in Lollypop, you have an idea? Thanks.

@@tommythompson002 thank you for response and effort, really appreciate it! Sadly, on my Manjaro KDE Plasma Lollypop won't even get past scanning my music collection :( It just gets stuck. Also I'm using an android phone which already is paired with KDE Connect and works well with it. Just not Lollypop. I'm stuck with Clementine I guess :)

The third solution fixed everything just by changing default mounting settings. I don't know why this error even occurred, but I have my HDD connected all the time and now it will be properly recognised as default by the system, thanks man!
I prefer Chrome when using my google accounts, such as gmail, RU-vid, calendar, and etc & Ungoogled for random surfing to prevent Google from collecting data.
Got turned onto this from Garuda Linux. Installed on Windows 11 IoT VM to see how it was outside Linux. I like it, and hoping it keeps growing and expanding.

Avidemux cuts the video on key frames or I-frames, you can't select an exact timecode to cut on. To cut precisely, you need to re-encode the video, which takes more time. Kdenlive or Shotcut can cut at exact points, but you'll need to re-encode the video.
Asunder will find some cover art for songs ripped from CDs. EasyTAG or puddletag does a better job finding cover art for ripped music. It sounds like you have a conflict in your samba.config or smb.conf file. The main configuration file for Samba is /etc/samba/smb.conf. I recommend that you backup the file before you modify it. If you're unable to boot up your machine because of the error then you can create a bootable linux USB and fix your system using the live USB. I hope you're able to fix your problem. Good luck!

I had the same problem with Openshot Video Editor Appimage my Debian Mate Desktop after I updated my system. I only have 2 Appimages on my system one is Telegram which still worked but Openshot stopped working after the update. Yet it worked fine on my 2 other laptops which have Debian. one with the Gnome Desktop, and the other with KDE. After much searching on the web I found out from the It's Foss website that libfuse2 was not installed. When I checked by looking in Synaptic I found that it was installed on both my Gnome and KDE desktops but not on the Mate desktop. That is why Openshot worked on those desktops but not in Mate. So I installed libfuse32 on Mate and then Openshot worked fine. The reason I am using the Appimage version of Openshot is because the one that comes with both Ubuntu and Debian is so old. So the Appimage is the only way to get the latest version. Though one would think that both Ubuntu and Debian would include the libfuse2 program by default in their install since some programs still depend on it. I didn't have to do anything else to get Openshot working, just install that one program and that was it. Thanks for sharing.

A "quick format"does not scan the disk for bad sectors. Windows "regular format" or "normal format" will remove files from the volume that you are formatting and the hard disk is scanned for bad sectors. The scan for bad sectors is responsible for the majority of the time that it takes to format a drive. Formatting a drive in Linux is similiiar to to a "normal format" in Windows, except Linux must allocate an index node (inode) for every file and directory in the filesystem. If you know your drive is good then wiping or deleting the contents of the drive will speed things up.
