I adore how this episode and a scene like this really epitomize how S7 is the show getting back to basics for one final season before moving into the Metropolis era beginning in S8. #Clana
Clark and Lana were soooo good together. The only reason Clark and Lois got together on Smallville was because the writers had to go by the whole SUPERMAN tradition of Lois and Clark. But if the writers and majority of Smallville fans could have had it there way...it would have been Clark and Lana ending up together. And I don't know about anyone else. But even watching the Smallville finale, I didn't think Clark and Lois were good together.
Couldn’t agree with you more, I just started watching on Hulu it’s June 2020 and I Iove this show, but season 8 after Lana left show wasn’t the same. Clark, Lana, Lex, made that show what it was. Once they paved the way for Clois that was the end of it for me too!
"I want to grow old together." Clark should've proposed right then and there. Clark, you moron, how many times must Lana show/declare her undying love for you before you propose to her? Clark Kent, the biggest freaking idiot in Smallville. The scene should've gone, "I want to grow old together." "Then we should get married tonight, tomorrow, as soon as possible. Yes Lana, that is my proposal. It's not a question. It's a demand out of love and destiny. We've been destined since day 1 to be together forever." If only. I know other CLana fans are thinking the same thing.
Lana is so perfect in this scene. And you would think Clark would love and forgive her unconditionally, as she has with him. But then Clark screws up again after he escapes the fortress only to find out she's been with Bizarro Clark. And Clark doesn't forgive her for that. Clark is a hypocrite as well as an idiot. But, for the time being, this scene is priceless. And so is she.
Oh, come on. She’d been having sex with another man. Regardless of the circumstances, that is not something any man can get over so easily. Every time she tries to touch him, it will remind him of what happened, particularly with her admitting she was happier with the Phantom. There’s no coming back from that.
I have to say that there's something lacking at the end of this scene, something I've been waiting for since the very beginning of the episode..Lana's words here are so full of love and devotion that if I were Clark I couldn't help kissing her..
@@ele_piccola_fatina4319 this is not true, her and Tom always got along, the whole main cast did. Kristin kreuk has said in multiple interviews that she left the show because her contract was over and she was ready to move on onto new projects (just like Michael Rosenbaum). She also said she coudn"t handled the fame when she was on Smallville it was too much for her.
If consider the fact that Lana's ancestors were special (witch Isobel and predictor Ezra Small), plus she was wearing a kryptonite necklace for a long time, the writers could have make her special too.
Series should have ended after season 7. With Clark and Lana together and married, and with a baby. The justice the show deserved. Then SMALLVILLE can end. If they wanted to do a follow-up show, such as METROPOLIS, that kills Lana off or otherwise puts Clark with Lois, cool. But this show should have concluded with Clark and Lana.
Season 7 should have been the season Lana died. At the hands of Brainiac. Clark and Lana were star crossed lovers and no matter how many arguments they had or mistakes they made they always found their way back. Here’s what I would have done if I was a writer. Have Lana been killed by Brainiac. That way Clark and Kara together could leave earth for awhile and go on missions Jor-El would send them on. I can picture Lana dying in Clark’s arms in the loft where they had their very first meeting together in 1x02 metamorphosis. Lana tearfully tells him she loves him and says the world needs him now. Clark responds with a “don’t leave me Lana. I love you. Please no.” Then Lana smiles and takes her last breath. Then Chloe walks in or Lois and sees Clark holding her. Just a suggestion.
