Yes Lana Clark kept things from you but have you forgotten about how you snooped on Chloe’s computer in 2x17 “Rosetta?” And saw the photos of Clark and Chloe at the dance? A bit sneaky don’t you think? Or how about when he got sick in 2x16 “Fever,” you didn’t come to see him. Guess who did? Chloe. I’m not saying Chloe was miss merry sunshine perfect all the time but she could say things to Clark Lana never could. At times Lana irritated me. She was quick to accuse Clark of getting Jason fired. She should know Clark would never do something like that. After all they had been through together up to that point you’d think she’d give him the benefit of the doubt. Even when they weren’t talking Clark was always watching over her. Besides a senior in high school dating a college football coach is grounds for gossip. Being in a small town people talk. You can’t keep that relationship a secret for long. Maybe in Paris but not Smallville.
Lana she better apologize to Clark because she should have known that Clark would never do anything like that because Clark is a good guy way better than lex and Jason that's for sure
At the end of 'Phoenix', Lana came to Clark and excused his actions in Metropolis _('Your weren't yourself)._ But he instead of saying _'I can't explain you anything because someone could get hurt',_ said _'Yes, I was'._ And what should she have to think after that?
She really didn't care about his secret at all, she even start dating him. It changed when he returned from Metropolis and broke up with her because he couldn't tell her his secret. I believe Lana did know Clark very well, and she knew he's a good guy. But she knew too the secrecy was an obstacle to any relationship. And she gives to Clark every chance.
Clark didn't tell Lana his secret not because he didn't trust her but because he wanted to _protect_ her. At first he was ashamed of himself because the meteor shower had killed her parents. Then, when he finally told Lana the truth, she died, saving his secret. If Clark at least told her _'Yeah, I have a big secret but can't tell you because someone could have been hurt,_ she would understand him. Lana knew from the very beginning that his secret would prevent their relationship, that's why she demanded him to be honest with her. Then at the end of 'Visage', she said she didn't care if he had any secrets. And kept her word until season 3 when Clark left all his beloved ones. After that she started again asking hin to tell her his secret because she didn't want it (his leaving) would repeat. Do you remember the last episode of season 9? Lois demanded Clark to tell her the truth because his secret was about to ruin their relationship. When he refused to do it, she nearly betrayed him.
@@Flower-x6c You’re not wrong and I always understood why Clark made the choices he did. But I also always understood where Lana was coming from. She got tired of mixed signals and repeatedly being pushed away for reasons that had nothing to do with her. She spent so much time trying to make him feel safe opening up to her, reassuring him that she was ready and willing to accept all of him, and he would get close and then pull back. A person can only take so much of that back and forth before resentment starts to build. We as an audience had information Lana didn’t have. And I think because of that, a lot of fans failed to put themselves in her shoes and really empathize with her as a character. She wasn’t a bad person. And she loved Clark a lot. She was also a life-changing and defining experience for him. She helped make him Superman. She helped make him a better partner for who came after. Even if they weren’t endgame, their story matters.

Your comment is what a lot of fans don't get when it comes to Lana and her relationship with Clark and fans who hate on Lana never try to see things from her perspective or put themselves in her shoes. Ofc there were times Lana was annoying (like when she started dating Lex) but she shouldn't be hated for wanting the man that she loved to be honest with her. It's like people don't think that honesty matter in a relationship. Lana was an important part of Clark's life, she was the first girl who taught him what love is. Lana definitely helped shaped the man and hero Clark became. Clana's story absolutely matter and even thought they weren't endgame they were the main love story of the series.
I really hated the whole Lana getting possessed with the ancestral witch spirit, it was supposed to be about Clark becoming Superman but now Lana seems to think it is all about her.
