Clannad OST ~ Nagisa: Parting at the Foot of the Hill 

To my best friend Stefano, who introduced me this anime back in 2014 and just passed away last week. I will always love you bro.

I remember watching this for the first time on Netflix. Made me tear up so much. It tore my heart out. Eventually got it on blu ray when netflix removed it.

the worst thing the worst sentence that got me crying was when tomoya said maybe me and nagisa shouldn't of met. gets me each time :(

This track is used twice : 1. When Nagisa dies. 2. When she is ressurected in the alternate universe. Which is enough to make a grown man cry

For me this theme is the saddest in clannad. The second half of the song is just brutal...it just sounds like you're losing somebody that you care about and it's overwhelming. 2:00

I burst out in tears upon that crescendo around 1:10. It just makes me so sad. Maeda Jun truly is a master of his craft

this is the version of "Nagisa" that I really can't listen to because of 1:55, it breaks my heart so violently that I prefer staying in the denial and listening to the other version...

This show truly is the most beautiful thing I have ever watched and it tugs on my heart strings every time I watch it and listen to the soundtrack.

This is the only show I can say changed my life. it showed me what I want in life. What my goals are. It gave me meaning. Before I just sat around depressed wasting away, and now I feel I can achieve anything.

Had to come back to comment on here because of what happened to kyoani it’s funny because out of almost 5 years this show has never ever stopped being my favorite I can almost recite the whole first episode st this point how much I’ve seen it I just really respect what it did for me as a person my hearts goes out to those who are suffering over there and those who died also Here’s to 5 more years

I believe... that long before we were around, someone had written the story of Clannad, many many years ago.... and that's why the oceans exist, cause they couldn't stop crying.

Sorry for the spoilers but... When Tomoya regretted ever talking to Nagisa at the foot of the hill, it made me so sad. Nagisa loved him with all her heart and wouldn't want him to change it, even though she was going to die. Even if the one you loved would die sooner, don't you think it's best to give them the best time of their life?

1:55 and onward just breaks me. Just makes me feel so helpless and upset.

This song is so heart warming but it still is putting those images back in my head TT^TT noooo...

i don't cry when i hear this song anymore (after like 2 years since watching the anime) buy my chest still tightens when i hear the songs from CLANNAD, i have yet to watch an anime that has left me so spellbound as CLANNAD and i doubt i ever will.

A very defining song, describing the actual anime through tangible emotions instead of words, cleverly evoked by tender musical notes.

The end of this always gives me chills and the fracking tears start because you can hear when Tomoya realizes that Nagisa is gone and the flash backs start. He talks to her and screams, "NAGISAAAAAAAA!!!!!" and collapses over her body. You can hear it. GOOD GOD!!!!!!

This is one of the first shows I have ever seen that impacted me so emotionally, that just listening to the first few seconds of this song triggers goosebumps and immediately causes tears to start welling in my eyes.. Gorgeous anime, gorgeous song. Damn I love Clannad.

This is the best track off the entire OST. The second half just floods the brain with so many emotions at once it's hard to grasp it at times.

Bruh! This song! I swear the first time you hear it, it’s a sweet song for a sweet character but then IT happens and this song takes on a whole new meaning! From sweet and nice to bittersweet and SAD AS HELL!!! Everytime I rewatch this series when this song plays I’m like YUUSSSSSSS but then I instantly get sad!

When he wished that he never met her but then realized that all the hardship and sadness he felt was worth it in the end and he ran out to hug her... man... something hit me in the eyes.

I'm really grateful that I watched Clannad, it has help me a lot, the first time I saw it was in 2013 and I still watch it and I keep getting the same feeling as it was the first time I'm watching it 😔❤️

The fact that Nagisa has the same voice as Rena Ryuuguu from Higurashi kinda scares me.

I dont but as soon it touches 1:55 ........it makes me feels what was said by Nagisa is power full and true "Everything doesn't remain forever whether its good or bad it will change...eventually but will you love it"

This anime makes me feel more than anything ive ever seen in my life. I want to find happiness like in this show so much. Im 24 now and when i watch this show i regret so much about not enjoying my time in high school nearly as much as i should have. I wish i could find love and happiness like this, but im afraid i never may because of my Aspergers.

This whole song reminds me of the journey that is Clannad. All the scenes that caused me to get misty eyed. All the scenes that caused me to laugh my ass off. All the scenes that left me with a dumb grin on my face. I'd like to say it's my favorite song in the OST, but I'm still not sure - it's kinda hard to choose.

It's a good thing I wasn't in a public place when I listened to this. It's amazing the response and memories a simple song like this can elicit. All of the emotions I felt while watching the anime came rushing back at once.

The change around the 2 minute mark is of course impactful, but the part that begins right at 3:11 for some reason is particularly emotional for me. Pavlovian response, but with tears.

@xXTheHeroicGamerXx If you're going to, I recommend doing the "plain" Nagisa song, not the Parting version. They split around the 1:50 mark where the parting version switches to the... I don't even know what instrument it is. Some kind of horn? Whatever it is, it's very ethereal sounding, which works great for the time the piece is used (don't want to spoil anything), but makes doing it by piano a little...
