Gen Alpha language makes me feel like that poor unfortunate sap in Lovecraftian stories who is witnessing something beyond the established reality and has their mind destroyed by it.
Reading forbidden knowledge and failing to comprehend it to the point you end up in an asylum as the ancient God takes form as a living language and feeds off the minds of those that use it.
Agree language evolution is cool and I think it's a part of humanity to continuously evolve and change, even if it's not in the most optimal direction. That said, not being able to understand the little psychos makes me feel old, but I also feel better knowing that if the grid goes out tomorrow I have a head start.
@@Galdorise yeah my thoughts exactly. Everything is changing (or appears to change) on a much faster scale. I can now understand if not sympathize with boomers or any other generation witnessing the world become different to how they remember it. But maybe that's just how it goes?
@@hibitterness5990 as someone who understands these words, you have called them as someone who's bum is basically a cryptid, prefers to jork it long-term, but is extremely charismatic. Definitions \/ Rizzler - Derived from "rizz," itself a heavy shortening of "charisma." Refers to someone who is extremely charismatic or good at attracting partners. Gooner - Derived from "goon." Refers to someone who prefers to jork it over long enough time periods to put themselves in a trance-like state. Ohio - When used as an adjective, generally refers to something of outlandish or cryptic nature. Gyatt - Derived from a heavy shortening of "god damn." Refers to buttocks of noticably large size. The only major gen-alpha term that doesn't really seem to have a clear definition at the moment is the (usually) adjective "skibidi." I don't really know if that word's situation is a novel concept; I think "yeet" was in that kind of definition limbo for a while, so I forsee "skibidi" gaining some clear definition in the future.
Clara making my brain go into overdrive just like Bloodborne. If evolution is adapting, what is the language adapting to beat? The language barriers itself? If it continues to evolve, do we end up having a single language in say, 1000 years? Tower of Babel round 2.
During the human history, every major language evolved to become more simple to everyone can understand it and use it for communication. So in case of english there are at least two reasons to simplify itself: 1. Fast pace of modern life sets a tendency to use short words and acronyms. 2. English is an international language, so every non native speaker will distort meaning of some words or even giving new. Funny that in my native language word "terrific", that Clara used as example, also could have been used in negative meaning according to root word.
Clara is kind of right, but what she is not saying is that, while SOME of youth language gets into the language spoken by everyone, it is only a small part of what young people use when talking amongst each other. So while some new words come with every generation, a lot falls to the side before being adopted into the wider language pool.
Hoooly that thumbnail, perfectly encapsulates the inescapable dread lmao. The background music is waay to loud, louder than the acceptable background volume. The horns legitimately drown out the conversations when they appear, is it your addition or is it from the stream? If it is the former, i suggest turning it down a few couple notches. Back to the clip, Clara saying Airi is a boomer for hating new gen language is moot, we love hags round these parts, no matter what they be yapping. On an unrelated note, yooo met you playing TF2 in a hongkong server a week ago. Sorry for cringe-ly assuming you as tf2tuber, i remember vividly that the channel Cpt. Sourcebird has this scout face just front facing as the channel profile picture, so my mind just went to assuming that lmao. Gotta say though, you played some good spies, monsieur.
Yeah, I tried experimenting with a compressor just to lower Airi's highest range, if you don't mind me I can reupload this solely to fix the audio issue!
@@CptSourcebirdIf you want to, you can. It's still early so the algorithm damage is not bad yet. Also gonna copy and paste my comment to the reupload if you do to boost the algo.
@@aereonexapprentice7205 That is fair as well! However though I've been thinking that I'd like to keep this so people know where I came from with my flaws here. I plan to take notes the next clips I wanna work on next time. Basically this is my first time using a compressor, which is a huge upgrade since Airi likes to peak her volume constantly.
TO BE FAIR, gen alpha language evolves MUCH quicker than language ever has before, because of the internet. New expressions can sweep the *entire globe* in a matter of *days*, and then either disappear or be permanently incorporated into the vernicular
@@CptSourcebird it's about twenty different ways of saying 'Clara's right.' I think this is what Airi was talking about, where you have to actively translate from Zoomer/Gen Alpha-speak/whatever to English.
Clara is 100% right. I hate the new language, but it's functional and gets that generation's ideas across effectively (at least for them). I love how Airi's mind blew up when introduced to "terrific" as an idiom. Way to go Clara!
Either I went to a bad collage or sometime, but I don't really remember any classes about formal language theory. Most language I was taught was the coding ones with writing documentation happening at least once or twice.
Back in the days I used to be the gremlin of the group ( the youngest with a major age difference) so that made the gen Z wanna be milenial , a boomer basically...and I swear, never been so confused since everybody was using words like ,,+Ratio " , ,,L" or ,,W" , millenials included.
I completely agree with Clara and boomers (real) at least had the excuse of not having the internet to learn "what the hell the kids are saying these days"
All i can think of is the word "cringe". Cringe is supposed to mean embarrassment and ashamed but everyone uses the word "cringe" to describe something they don't like and get to feel smart about it. I love/hate the evolution of language. 😂
i have nothing against gen alpha speak, i have _everything_ against tiktok speak. if a word, meme, or other idea originated from tikitok, it is both cringe and an abommination
Ngl, listing "H20Sakana" in the credits is the weirdest clipper behavior. The fish is a marketing mascot, why would you list him on the video credits? lmfao
