Hi Chris! Can you maybe go over Chalating shampoo in a future video, esp with hard water considerations? Like which you'd recommend for which type of hair, which to stay away from, when to use/not use them, etc? I love your recommendations on products, and your fight against the beauty industry trying to steal our money ^_^

Hey I’m just throwing in with others I see that suffer from dandruff/dermatitis. I would like to see what you think/recommend. I bought the trinity pack and just started it. I’m mixing in my anti-fungal nizoral (not otc) when I shampoo. For any other sufferers on here I’ll post how it works. Also wanted to thank you for your videos! I never knew how to properly take care of my hair/scalp. I didn’t know about massaging the scalp to clean it and it definitely is helping. I also use fluocinide around the scalp edge. Good luck to everyone on here.

You are my saving grace!! I am so glad I came across your videos!! I've learnt more from you than years and years of going to different hair salons that always promise the best products lol and believe me it's been a disheartening quest! I suffer from complex PTSD so there is strike 1 against me due to having extreme cortisol levels and certain medications. Second strike is I have fine hair, and from watching your videos everything I've been told I need to do has been COMPLETELY wrong! I thought things might have been looking good as I had my son a year ago and my hair is the longest it's been in years not to mention thick, now I know they say you lose all the locks you gained when pregnant but I didn't experience that too badly and I've still kept the length. It's just in the last month I've noticed when i was my hair now, I'm getting clumps of hair coming out as well as when I brush my hair. It's absolutely killing me because it makes my already low self esteem even worse which is just the fun of complex ptsd (just in case, that was sarcasm lol). Thank you for the work you do! I Love your videos and will probably have watched all by the end of the day lol! 😅 Kate

Just tried Moroccan last night. I have really dry hair from Colorado dry air and the well water being high In minerals. It seems to have helped take the weird residue I’m left with after showering. I’ll only use this once a week. I also learned using glycerin based hair products in dry climate will suck the moisture right out as humid weather would lock it in. Interesting! I won’t be using glycerin products anymore. Oh! I bought a water filter for shower and that also helps clean hair better

If you're not supposed to shampoo your lengths, how do you remove the buildup from them so your hair can absorb moisturizer?
@Anniakarenjina
@Anniakarenjina Год назад
When you put the shampoo on your roots, the product will deep clean your scalp, which is the area with the most build up and with SEBUM, which is way less on your lenghts. When you rinse the hair, the foam from the shampoo migrates on your lenghts and it cleanses them as well on its way. So, basically, you start where there is the most buildup(scalp) and the shampoo does its job where there is less buildup too(on the lenghts and ends). If you insisted on putting more shampoo on the lenghts, you would strip your hair unnecessarily and dry it out. If you see a very noticeable amount of buildup on your lenghts that exists because of your hair products, it means they aren’t suited for your hairtype or they just aren’t good.

@melaniephillips8556
@melaniephillips8556 4 месяца назад
Yes clarifying shampoo first. You want to get that oil and junk out first so you can remove it and rinse it away. Then with your second wash it'll be easier to wash off the rest of your hair and rinse that buildup down the drain. Using the stronger one first allows the product to work like it should and have nothing (like other shampoos) preventing your clarifying shampoo from getting into your scalp. I had a similar question because I was using a bond repair hair growth shampoo with a purple toning shampoo. The way it was explained to me is if I used the purple first then that buildup would be left on my scalp/ hair preventing the hair growth and repairing ingredients from penetrating my hair follicles and scalp by using it second.

I’m having the hardest time with keeping my hair from feeling like cotton. It’s so hard to run my fingers through my hair. Not normal at all. I think it’s the horrible central florida water. I’ve used the Redken clarifying shampoo, pureology leave in conditioner and olaplex oil and nothing really keeps it from the weird effect that happens to my hair. For example if i throw my hair over and brush my hair and then flip my hair back and try to run my finger through it, it’s like thick cotton. I never use styling products, i air dry. I have just been too the salon and done highlights and lowlights for a even natural color. I have natural curly hair 👩🏼‍🦱 (3a-3c). And wondering if I can use clarifying shampoo, or will that take away the lowlights? Just found your RU-vid channel and it has helped me a lot 🫶🏼 thank you 😊 from Sweden 🇸🇪

I have both highlights and lie lights and the clarifying shampoos and conditioners don't strip any of my color. It actually makes them both look brighter and shinier

The redken clarifying shampoo has chelating ingredients in it, and redken says its meant for cleaning out hard water and pollutants, so which is it?

Clarifying shampoo removes surface residues like hairspray, styling gels and shampoo / conditioner build-up and chelating shampoos remove minerals, metals & medications from the inside of the hair

What’s a good option for the accompanying “normal” shampoo for medium oily hair? The Redken volume one on your list? Thanks!

Hi.i have fine, dry, curly, coloured hair. Do you still recommend your clarifying shampoo for my hair. I did notice it has Sodium Laureth Sulfate which my hair hates when I use products with it. Thanks!

What are your thoughts about L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise Extraordinary Clay Shampoo For Oily Roots, Dry Ends (both elvive and non-elvive)? Is it considered a clarifying shampoo?

He only ever recommends opalex or redkin. He totally hates regular hair products. If it works for you I don't see the problem

If I have dandruff will Clarifying Shampoo work for me - or should I AVOID it? Thank you.

doesn't do any harm. I have dandruff and treat it with ketoconazol but still use the redken clarifying shampoo once a week.

What are your thoughts on Olaplex Clarifying Shampoo? Can this work as an alternative? Some of us can't use products with wheat or gluten in them (and the Redken clarifying has wheat protein in it). Any alternatives without wheat?

I love Olaplex 4c, and also Ouai Clarifying Shampoo. Also, Aveda has a great clarifying shampoo. Pricey but worth it.

I have no idea how to recognize hard water from, ahhh soft, and what it does and how to solve it. Hope you talk about it sometime. Yes, I know there are shower attachments but who lies and who doesn’t is impossible to know -unless you mention it please.

First wash/second wash.. You mean two washes of your hair per showering, right? Not the first time you wash your hair in a week and the second wash you do later the same week?

Hi 🤎 Do you have another recommendations for Clarifying shampoo ? Maybe with other price ranges?

He only recommends salon products. Ever. It's like he doesn't realize that some people can't afford $30 shampoo. Believe it or not, dishsoap , on occasion, works fantastic to clarify. If you suffer from chronic oily skin/hair, research the insulin/androgen affect in women with oily skin. Life changing.

I know this is a year old but just saw this question. I color my hair, use pureology and try and protect my color very well. With that being said, I use suave clarifying shampoo and I have to say it’s Amazing! I don’t care what anyone says it works great. I live in a humid area, my scalp is dry a lot from working out and not washing it daily. This stuff cleans my scalp like 😮😂. I use it maybe every few weeks like 2-3 weeks. Hope this helps!

@blowoutprofessor what do you mean when you say only use clarifying shampoo on 1st wash & normal shampoo 2nd wash? Do you literally mean wash it twice on the same day, or the 2nd wash that week?
@melaniephillips8556
@melaniephillips8556 4 месяца назад
Wash twice in the same day/ wash. It's called double washing and is extremely recommended with any kind of shampoo you use. Just don't double wash with clarifying. Clarify first then wash with your other shampoo right after you wash with your clarifying wash then condition
