Check this. Props to the uploader. Clarissa released an album. I like "Walking in the Cemetary" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PJGBp0ra5qw.html 🤯
@@MrBaronbirchum - I'm not so certain. I certainly remember wanting to crawl into her window back then. That said, I was thirteen and all those hormones were kicking in around then.
The fact that a girl and boy were friends without sex getting in the way was one of the best things about this show. I'm a guy and had loads of great female friends in my teens. It hardly ever gets portrayed positively, and this show deserves praise for doing it.
That reminds me of when I visited New York with my aunt about 20 years ago and Korn was playing in Madison Square Garden and she basically told me it’s not happening 😂 I cried the whole way back to Connecticut
I'm sure a number of high up people from Nickelodeon invited a number of young boys and girls into their bedrooms thru the window and the front door after offering the world to them; maybe including PJ tix.
Real story. Had this exact scenario play out. Grandparents celebrating 55 years together. Iron Maiden, Dio & Motorhead same night as the anniversary. I told my grandparents the truth. I want to go to this concert and I would make it up to them. I took them to Disney World three weeks later and they renewed their vows during the fireworks show. Moral of the story, just be honest.
Clarissa had to be one of *the* coolest girls in the 90s. She likes Pearl Jam and They Might Be Giants, AND she makes video games. Is there a more awesome girl?
I’m 27 and vaguely remember this, I don’t remember much because I was pretty much a baby when this show was out, but the style of clothing is coming back to my generation and I love it!
As I was watchin' _Clarissa Explains It All_ from the 7th to 11th grade, Melissa was that one girl who got me hooked into white girls throughout my survival of the coming-of-age transition of school. There was even one specific girl of my dreams that I wanted to have when was in 10th grade, even though she was two grades ahead of me and graduated with a diploma right on out the wazoo. Afterwards I realized that Melissa was the placeholder of me takin' a liking to girls just like her, it came to me that I had me a lust for herself too. And now, time has passed, I'ms a grown ass man, Melissa's a grown ass woman, and I'm still carrying the lots amount of intense love for her as I did since the 7th grade. Glad to see she still bright, witty and exuberant as the woman I dreamt she'd become to grow up into, and it was worth the while watching Clarissa all over again right from beginnin' to end. What a kooky endeavor.
The set to this show was so good! I always loved her room, obviously, but the kitchen and living room looked like a house you would really walk into back in the 90’s!
@@loraldinp2624nah. I have no interest in kobains attempt to rip off the pixies/the bad butt rock of pearl jam (which is really albums worth of an unnecessary amount of pentatonic scales).
twisted view labs the replicas made in recent years are probably around $5-$25. But an actual shirt from 1991-1993 in even decent condition would go for several hundred dollars.
They can't teach kids to think for themselves anymore.. Look what Clarissa and the 90s did to us Millennials. We've been killing every industry possible since high school. 🙄🤣😂🤣
0:29 love that musical filler that kicks in.. reminiscent of "ten" era PJ whereas this show is referring to the tour promoting the later Vs. Album. Imagine Clarissa rocking out to Rear View Mirror, outrageous
i remember watching this show in 92, i was 8 and all i wanted was clarissa as my girlfriend. she was just the coolest girl and she had the best style and taste.
In my experience with this almost exact scenario as a toddler back in 1991-1993, my own dad simply would have and, well… usually did… drop me off at Grandma’s for a weekend without a second thought when Pearl Jam was anywhere remotely “near” Seattle. Oh, and for clarity’s sake - by “near” it should be noted that for him, this meant the band were playing less than a full day’s drive away. So sometimes these were three or four day weekends at Grandma’s.
haha i remember a chapter where clarissa says to somebody ( or maybe somebody to clarissa) : hey, the last of Nirvana ( giving a cassette... maybe Incestiside or In Utero)
Clarissa, I got Tickets for Pearl Jam on the 3th of July in Berlin. Better late than never! Remember when I watched this Episode, was so hyped as well bout PJ...😂😂😂
ah yes, i remember everyone and their cousin loved pearl jam back in the day - that was the brief period where actual bands were more popular than pop acts. then the late 90s came and all the boy bands/girl pop acts came along.
it was 100% Clarissa. I can remember the band mentioned, (no idea about the context) and being so young watching this it made me think "wow that's such cool people music, I wish I were that cool".
Has anyone from the show been interview about this? The only comparable thing to me is the la law Grateful Dead episode except there they actually played st Stephan
The book is awful. Something I can't get over is that the book is obviously set in the present but has Clarissa at least ten years too young as a character, which throws everything out of whack for the TV show, which is so obviously set in the early 90s.
i was 8 when i saw this and remember distinctly having no clue who/what pearl jam was - and would not for another several years until i had a gen x high school teacher who was obsessed with them (i was not a cool kid).
haha cool. I literally heard of Pearl Jam from this show. Same with The Alan Parsons Project in Austin Powers and Supertramp from the Simpsons. Clearly easily influenced :D
Times have changed. I'd like to see how well it would go over today, for a young man to climb into the window of his female friend, without the parents knowledge.
Are you bitching because you cant climb into your friends windows without their knowledge? Your point is also irrelevant because that happens in kids shows like this now.
GAAAAAH! It's perfectly possible for boys and girls just to be friends, and the portrayal of Sam and Clarissa's friendship was THE best thing about this show.
There is a terrible quality version on dailymotion. This was from a torrent I can't seem to find anymore, even that had terrible hissing that needed scrubbed out of the video.
The show is on Paramount Plus now. However, it’s very disappointing because it’s missing a lot of episodes (like so many other acquired shows on that service).
The old bags went to their car across the street and got hit by a car and died (hit and run) and Clarissa said bye and went to the concert and had a GREAT time... It was one of the darker episodes 😔
