Considering what happened to most 90s idols and especially the kids / teenagers I'd say Melissa came out unscathed. She may not be an A-list celebrity but considering what happened to most stars from the 90s well she was definitely blessed!

I love 90s culture. But I'm gay. The 90s were the beginning of the fight for lgbt acceptance, but in the end, there is no better decade for gay rights than the 2010s. We can say what we want: Trump not once made an issue of lgbt rights in his campaign. Had someone said 10 years ago that racism would be a bigger issue this decade than homophobia, we'd have laughed at them.

The term LGBT didn't become commonly used until the 90s, but there were many people fighting for gay rights in the 60s. Why would Donald Trump have made an issue of LGBT? There'd have been no point in doing so - and it would have lost him a lot of support. He doesn't seem to hold strong views in regard to the subject. The most strongly anti-LGBT politicians are religious, but Trump rarely mentions religion.

Yeah I understand that but just because there not in any TV shows anymore doesn't mean that 'Hollywood doesn't want to cast them anymore. Sometimes life just gets in the way for people and they decide to step back for a while. This doesn't mean Hollywood doesn't want to cast them anymore and that's what I'm trying to say.

Caoimhe Campbell true, people step away, from the hollywood acting life, sometimes they just go indie or take a break. But since they do take a break, directirs do lose interest and cast people who are active in acting.

I agree. I understand that it is a theme type of video but maybe they should change up the title for people who choose to stay out of the spotlight or are just taking a break. Maybe something like "Why we don't see (actor name) anymore."

Bruh she had Clarissa that ran for years with 65.. Managed to get another big hit show with Sabrina, The Teenage Witch that ran For 7 Years and later got casted for Melissa and Joey that managed to get 100 episodes. I think she had pretty good run overall. Who has 3 hit shows. Lmao

I don't understand why there's a bad stigma over someone who was on a huge show/s in the past no longer being 'relevant' anymore. If that person has moved onto different ventures or in another direction and if they've banked and saved some money over the years then why is that a bad thing? Melissa is probably living comfortably even though she's no longer the big star she was in the 90s. And I think it's better to go out this way because then she would have less spotlight on her and can be more free to do things without having to worry about paparazzi following her or a media frenzy every time she does something.

It already lost some appeal after she got heartbroken and turned into stone and fell appart and all of a sudden they would continue the show anyway when that was supposed to be the end. Then colledge did turn out to be ok even though not as awesome as with the aunts anymore... But seriously when she started just being in the office that´s when I stopped watching and only out of curiousity finished to watch the end but it was just going on for too long.. If anything they should have stopped earlier. Heck a reboot would be aweful it is about a witch after all. The aunts were supposed to be soo damn old but stayed young through magic. It would be ridiculous with her looking as old as the aunts during season 1 or so

Growing up in the TGIF era, I wasn't even a big Sabrina The Teenage Witch fan, even though I watched it regularly on ABC. It wasn't until years ago (as an adult, obviously) that I started appreciating it more and having nostalgia for that Friday at 9:00/9:30 feeling to the point where I binge-watched most of the show (from seasons 2-season to season 6, I think) for the feeling. Here's what I learned from the binge-watching: Seasons 2 and 3 were the best. The fourth was ok. After the fourth season, it moved to WB because ABC wanted to overhaul and get rid of the entire TGIF franchise/line-up (only to bring it back 3 years later for a desperate attempt at recapturing ratings-that's network logic for you). When it moved to WB, it was her college years, where she reunites with another former child-star-Punky Brewster (Soleil Moon Frye). Those college year seasons at WB are some of the most unentertaining and boring seasons/episodes I've seen. I couldn't even watch/get through the last season. Miss the TGIF feeling though.

No she got fat and ugly. The ultimate sin for a female in hollywood. Plus she was never a very good actress to begin with. If she was on par with Meryl Streep she might have survived the weight gain (career wise). But don't worry between the Hallmark channel and the Lifetime network I'm sure she'll be turning out dreck for years to come.

A big reason an actor won't work is the money is still coming in, royalties and so on. Proof is when you see a old show get picked up for say, the 'TVLand' lineup; one of the main actors will then have something new coming out, new series/movie, (the old show got re-priced in syndication and their royalties are drying up).

Sweetie, you have no place to call anyone an idiot. You just openly declared that Christians (the number one practiced religion in America) are not allowed to openly practice their beliefs. They are, people openly pray and speak scripture all the time. There's a church every other block in most states. What you can't do is force those beliefs down others throats, that's considered inconsiderate and rude. And the way Melissa said it really reads into the fact that she thinks it should be okay to do that, she even starred in a movie that basically claimed it.

Me calling out your ableist language doesn't make me a "triggered snowflake", it makes me educated. If the Christian religion had the same types of practices that required certain behaviors throughout the day, it's obvious they would be accommodated.
