This is one of the few scenes that really hit me, they just killed her character so brutally :( and the worst part is, everyone in town hated her so much for being a "freak" and blames her for everything and next episode everyone just acts like nothing happened...

Can't believe she was killed by some freak-of-the-week nobody. I was so pissed. I loved her and would rather have had Clicia for 3 seasons than Clana.

+tr011ful, I still feel that Clark had the best romantic/sexual chemistry with Alicia. It's amazing how popular Alicia, and the Clark and Alicia couple (Calicia), became after Alicia was only on the show for three episodes.

probably one of the only scenes where Clark was so angry he was ready to kill somebody. one person you never want to have angry at you is Superman.
@kungfumaster51
@kungfumaster51 6 лет назад
JeremysRants Yup. This is one of the primary reasons why I prefer the traditional "boy-scout" Superman rather than the New 52. Because on the extreme occasions where Clark truly becomes enraged it is a sight to behold, since he isn't restraining himself anymore. Once this happens...I feel sorry for the opposition. LOL.

another thing i DID not like about this episode is that LANA and her new BF didnt even come apologize to Clark for falsely accusing Alicia for trying to go after Lana...granted she did before..but when it was found out it wasnt her this time..she should still have apologized to Clark espec after when Clark Lost Alicia and he was hurt..I mean hes ALWAYS there for Lana when shes emotionally hurt or in danger..

I wish she'd lived. Clark would have been better off with Alicia than with Lana or Lois. Also Superman would have been great with her. Imagine her in some costume and using her powers to fight beside Superman.

I was sad when he lost Alicia. But I think that him and Kyla (wolf chic, second season) had a deeper affection for one another. His heart broke with her gone as well.

@@spacekadetentertainment one of the things that has always made superman one of my favorites. is despite him always being alone the last son of krypton it never broke him. He was still the big blue boy scot who loved the earth, his home and his friends. Despite all he lost or those who wronged him he was back in the sky everyday making sure no one else was wronged or hurt.

You know Clark loved Alicia more than he loved any other girl because when he is under red kryptonite and he has the Kal persona he acts only out of emotion and his inhibitions are gone and back when he ran away to Metropolis he told the bartender that he wont start something with a girl that he believes wont end well and he brushed off people like Lana, Chloe and Lois. But with Alicia he immediately married her and in his mind probably thought they would never end so that says a lot.

I am still disappointed that they didn't make Lana go see Clark after Alicia's death. Regarding on all the built up around their relashionship and the importance they gave to it for years in the show, this move on her character part doesn't make sense at all within the continuity of the story. At a time when he probably needed her, she wasn't there. Whereas he was always there for her, always. Almost like a little puppy following her around. This is actually the episode that made me realized that as much as I liked Lana, she did not belong with him. She did not really care about Clark as long as it did not involved her in some way. Alicia's death did not affect her therefore there was no compassionate reaction toward Clark on her part. I think this is where the writers screwed her character up. She went from being stongly compassionate and caring to being selfish and self-absorbed After that a lot of flawed elements entered the picture: she always blamed Clark if it seemed (even slightly) that he could be responsible (in regard to something bad happening to her) regardless of evidence proving otherwise, she DATED Lex, I mean, come on!! And she could not see when Clark was not Clark because she was so absorbed in her ideal of a relashionship with him that she easily dismissed outward differences that others could see right through... From season 4 on, problems in the portrayal of their relationship made it almost unberable to watch.. Particularly the fact that they dragged it on for so long.
@sansastark4040

I agree with your perspective on the relationship between Lana and Clark. I think that their relationship was that both parties were in love with love. AN honest relationship is built on trust and communication. Clark never told Lana the truth because some portion of him didn't trust her with his secret. Not to mention all the chances he had to tell her the truth about his secret. I think Lana and Clark are better off friends simply because their relationship is filled with secrets. Even when Lana found out she still kept secrets from Clark. For example, holding Lionel hostage. Lana to me is a perfect example of a flawed character. I think in this episode we see those flaws in full. We hold grudges against those who have wronged us and in Lana's point of view she is fully justified to hate Alicia. We as the watchers of this show see what the characters experience and go through. When Alicia came onto screen we fell in love with her character just like Clark did in those three episodes . Alicia was also felt isolated because of her powers. So she latched onto Clark when revealed his powers to her and felt threatened by Lana and went crazy and tried to kill her. But Alicia got better , she was sick and she got the help she needed. So for Lana and Jason to not apologize to Clark is just devastating to the audience. Lana is so characterized by her compassion for others and who knows maybe the writers of the show wanted to add the apology scene to this episode. Chloe learning about Clark abilities and then supporting him after Alicia's death maybe overshadowed the writers minds about an apology from Lana. Lana was almost killed by Alicia. Remember Lana has a bad history with the meteor infected and to be faced with someone who tried to kill you who claims to better and then get attacked not thirty minutes later is a daunting situation for anyone. Lana can also be judgmental we all can and she based her attack on the fact that she just saw Alicia who to her claimed to be better. I also think the next episode after this one was probably about a month later due to the fact Clark was touring MetU. So that's enough time for Alicia death to die down around the time of smallville. Remember Clark was pretty torn up about her death her loved her and he had time to mourn her. The thing that did make mad about this episode is that Lana didn't apologize to Clark for accusing Alicia.

Yeah Lana did suspect Alicia didn't she. Everyone did. His parents. Chloe goes to see him in the next episode after she dies. Chloe. Chloe and Clark are friends and I think they should stay like that. But Lana and Clark had a genuine connection at first. It seems she's more absorbed in her relationship with Jason or with lex to notice. All those times she was jelous. Clark has always been there for her. The one time where he portrays some emotions she can't be there for him. Lois is calming him down and stopping him. Chloe offers her support. So do his parents after. If he loved her didn't tell her and even went that far as to believe she was guilty then when she dies that must be horrible. It's so bad when someone you love dies and you don't get to say sorry or say goodbye. They end on a argument. And if he doesn't even think about her in the episode then the writers seriously did something wrong.

They had to kill her off. Her character is actually too RIGHT for Clark and they need to follow the comics and make him end up with Lois. It's just they killed her off way too soon and it was such a pathetic death. Worse thing about it, the next episode it's like nothing happened.

Clark didn't even hold Ryan when he was dead...he hugged him while he was still alive but nothing as dramatic as this...and we all know how he felt about Ryan he was like his little brother...and sure Alicia tried to kill him one time but he forgave her and this had to happen to her and the way he found her...ugh so fucking heartbreaking!!!

I didnt expect every one to believe her in this episode but i wish she had the chance to prove everyone wrong about her and earn their trust before she died

They definitely should of handled it better. At least let her have that last moment with him to express their love and then die peacefully. And then the thing about moving on to the next episode with Clark acting like this never happened, happy about getting a football scholarship to Met U just made it all the more worse. I'm here still upset about the previous episode for like another ten episodes while Clark Kent's all good, makes me feel like I was supposed to be Clark Kent.

This isn't pushed that's for sure. He's not trying to hard it's good that Lois is there. Shows some good friendship and love to their ship. Clark loved Alicia and her going away to early him not being able to apologize it's horrible. Everyone suspects her. Even his parents. Yes she might have been crazy a little but she didn't deserve to die. You know how every episode there is some new villain she shouldn't have died in a such a petty way. Maybe if she did something for Clark then got hurt. That would have made more sense. If he pretends to not care or dosent care the next episode then that is really some crap righting from the writers. It's horrible.

I also hated how they ended this episode so beautifully with Clark blaming himself and so depressed, and then they acted like this never happened after this episode. I lovr smallville and most of the death scenes throughout this series were sad but for some reason this scene doesnt make me shed a tear, i honestly didnt feel the sincerity in it, I feel like the acting was pushed and Tom was trying too hard to hurt for her death and louis random walk in asking what happened felt fake as well. Tom Welling is a good actor and the death of his father felt real, this to me just feels pushed.

Right!! . And then to make it worse she died by herself, just hanging there like she was just another side character. She didn't even get the chance to say goodbye like Kyla did when she died in Clark's arms. I mean i understand she couldn't stay on the show because of that destiny crap. But It would of even been better if they just let her leave off like Pete or die a much happier way in Clark's arms. Like if she died taking that bullet for Clark in his arms i would of moved on easier.

I think the "nothing happened" attitude helped fans that loved the Alicia Clark relationship to move on from it. We do get very attached to these small things. But I was kind of happy they killed her off like that; the abruptness of the matter added to the shock value, which is what made the connection stronger. But yeah, I agree, I would have liked to see Clark more beaten up about it.
