That moment when you realize that Lex named Clark "The Man of Tomorrow" in the same episode where he foreshadowed that he would end up becoming President of the United States. In the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover on the CW, they visit Smallville's version of Earth and Clark mentions that Lex Luthor is President.

The writing on this show isn't great all the time, but they absolutely nailed making Clark and Lex believable best friends, but with the tiny crack of secrets that would only grow wider as they clash.
