The writing and directing was actually brilliant, much better than most shitty shows I see today! And actually, they used practical effects alot of the times! When Clark bent steel, lifted people up like they weighed nothing, Tom Welling actually did all that, but they obviously used ropes and then edited it out, so yeah Smallville was, is and will always be the best TV show ever! if you don't like it, then you can leave 🚪➡️

@@zataha3 no that was jensen ackles who was the runner up for playing clark kent on smallville not paul wesley. tom has told this story several times originally he turned down the role twice because they weren't giving out any information and at first tom just thought it was the same thing superman in high school. they still wanted welling and he was their first choice so the creator's of smallville miles millar and alfred gough made him a deal if he came in and audition they would give him a script and let him read it. once he read the script he realized the show wasn't the same old thing just superman in high school but something far better and he took the role. he had already turned down the role twice but not the third time if he had turned it down a third time the role of clark kent would have went to their second choice and runner up jensen ackles. on season four of smallville jensen ackles played lana's boyfriend assistant football coach jason teague.

@Power106Fan on the Commentary on the dvds on season three the creators of smallville miles millar and alfred gough said it took them about 60 episodes to master special effects. some special effects they had been trying to master since season one. by smallville season three episode twenty 3x20 "talisman" with the native american kid Jeremiah the dagger/starblade the show had finally mastered special effects even if it took almost three seasons. you should watch smallville season four episode one 4x1 "crusade" that "flying sequence" was epic too.

@Power106Fan this might be a stupid question but are the people who do the special effects for smallville also the people who do the super speed effects for the vampire diaries because on both shows the super speed effects look the same. really i only know how two or three of these special effects are done and the rest of them i have no idea. back in fall of 2007 i saw on TV guide channels 25 things you didn't know about supernatural tv they said the way the super speed effects are done is they have tom welling running through there after they have a guy run through there with a "leaf blower." miles miller and alfred gough explained in season two of smallville the special effects for Clark's ship well when it's on the ground it's a prop but when the ship is flying through the air it's computer generated and cgi. the way people are stabbed on smallville and the vampire diaries is done the same way too. i found this out a long time ago usually on smallville or the vampire diaries when someone has a knife 🔪 it'll be rubber or plastic or the way they'll do it is just the handle of the sword or knife will be real and the blade will be created using a computer and be computer generated or cgi then the actor will have to swing the knife at the person and make a stabbing motion then the other person will have to pretend/act like they are stabbed in order sell to make it "believable." the blood is also a combination of blood caplets and computer cgi. but mostly computer generated and cgi blood probably.

@1misanthropist in this episode he is wearing a red kryptonite ring. It amplifies all his emotions and basically removes him of a moral compass

His biological father, Jor-El, brands him with a Kryptonian symbol so that Clark doesn't lose sight of his mission, which acts as an inhibitor to keep his rebellious attitude in check.

Whole idea, this was the story of how he took on the persona of Superman. How he learnt to accept who he was and what his destiny was. It was all a metaphysical for growing up an understanding yourself.

Yes, she would be weaker than Kal-El but the writers in Supergirl CW show made her alot physically weaker!
