If you take a look Volkswagen vs Porsche financial history and moment when Porsche was actually taking over Volkswagen as being biggets share holders… They would have had the last laughs if not government made some special steps in there.
@@Fujiwara.Takumi1 I think his wife is healthy in aspects of thinness when you look at that rear legroom you would need a wife which only weighs 40 kg or so
funny part is both chassis were build only ~ 50km seperated from each other... all Gallardo chassis were build by Audi in Neckarsulm only ~ 50km away from Porsche factory
@@kravchan Just because they're built on Volkswagen's platform, doesn't mean they're all Volkswagen. They're making fun of the Porsche and whenever people on YT comments make fun of any car, they wishing death on everyone who drive these cars.
@@J.PC.Designs Which was a stolen design by Ferdinand Porsche from Hans Ledwinka's Tatra. It was found out to be true, after the war Volkswagen was fined for copying it. That is from me coming from a Porsche fan, and works for Porsche.
@@jundelacruz2342 yeah, i forgot about that. VW was already getting sued by Tatra before the war, but then in 1938, the Germans occupied the czech part of Czechoslovakia, so the Tatra factory was shut down.
I don't Clarkson's bloody right - they're so good they're boring. His take on a new Lambo was funny one time - he reckoned it was too normal. He said Lambos should be something so ridiculous you have to fall out of them to get out. I take his point but I don't like Lambos either put the point is true enough. Driven a few Porches in my time. My favourite was just a plain 'ole 1974ish 911 2.7 - the one with the Bosch inline mechanical injector pump adapted from a Diesel. It was fun but only because of the massive oversteer was great for showing off fanging it around inner city streets pissing people off. The others were too brutal to be fun like that LOL.
Im pumping and squirting right at this very moment. Just wanted to share this intimate piece of information with all of you guys right now. Thanks for reading to the very end, here is a surprise specially for you: *Blood vessels are pumping to the maximum, which proceeds to squirting the blanket juice all over this mechanical keyboard* The end
@@ThePaulv12 "They're so good they're boring" is something I thought only the absolute nutter that Clarkson would ever say. Really? You want something that's not quite as good but you never know if it'll explode?
@@Mustang150y "New top gear is good just not as great as the old one" I really, really wanted that to be the case. I tried so hard to like the new TG. Every season I start watching hoping that maybe this time, just maybe, they've done better, made a decent show. But it never is. I gave up half way through the last season, forced finally to admit the truth to myself; it is shite, an absolutely unwatchable, steaming great pile of shite. Mind you, the Grand Tour is not much better. It doesn't steam quite as much.
One is overpriced, built to break, poorly designed and sells you the same outdated tech of it's competetors at an increased price. The other company is porsche. I'll never own one of them cause they are fucking expensive and got no loyalty for any brand but I can't denie that their product is just better than their competition.
The 911 came out in 1964 and internally it was called a 901... a couple years later they released the 902... the true “911” lasted from 67 or 68 to 1988... in 89 they changed the design for the first time and released the 964 (based on the 959)... later came the 993... then the 996... then the 997... the original turbo was called the 930... and they were all sold as “911”s ... after about 2000 I quit paying attention...
Lmao are u stupid? You just named the variants of 911, like saying Ferrari 458, 488. Just because Porsche stick with 911 then name the model 996,997,991,992 etc. 930 and 964 are the same. No need to pay attention if you can't afford one mate
They modernize the same design which is what you SHOULD do when you've got a good design, while Ferrari often try to reinvent the fucking wheel and fail at it. Are Ferraris more beautiful to look at? Yes. Are they infinitely less reliable? Also yes. So unless you're a fucking millionaire, Porsche is just the better option.
@ThePatUltra If she already have boyfriend or a husband, then you can't date her. Why do people date other people if they already have a boyfriend or a husband?
I 100% agree with Jeremy I think porsches are pretty good cars in performance and mechanics... But they have always the same look and I got bored of it years and years ago. I would love to see a different design but it won't happen... this car is gonna look the same in 20.. 30 or 50 years from now.
Which is one of the most impressive thing about this line. The 911 Design is timeless. Absolutely brilliant and beautiful. Gt2rs is my absolute favorite car. I would drive that over any ferrari, lambo, bentley, or bugatti.
Yeah i agree with you and jeremy. It is a fast car and i respect that. But the styling is old and not "timeless" to me personally. But i do like that new 911 gt3 ass design ngl.
@@vincentraine8917 i really like the porsche cayman and the 918 spyder, Porsche can produce some beautiful machines when it stops reusing the 911 design over and over again
@@JohnJonnyBerry yep it's a good car, but talking about design it's like eating the same thing every day of your life Won't you get bored? For example, everyone will remember the ferrari 360, 430 or 458, even if they are becoming old now. But nobody except porsche enthusiasts will remember a 2008 porsche 911 for example... because it's you know... a car with nothing special about its look...
It’s easily one of the most fierce battles of them all. Even though I love them both. I’d have a Turbo S & a 458 if money was no object. Turbo S for the winter, the 458 for spring and summer.
I’m a huge Porsche (mainly the 911) fan and I find this just hilarious!! I mean it’s old Top Gear, it’ll always be funny and one of the greatest car shows
clarkson mocking porsche for being the same thing while driving a ford coupe (aston martin) that is also the same thing over the years is just brilliant
@@greglewis3382 That is because Ferdinand Porsche had a good relationship with Hans Ledwinka the Tatra Engineer back before WW2. In a recent Jay Leno episode about his Tatra he is pointing out, that "both engineers looked over the other's shoulder when designing their cars". I'm not going to argue about the stealing part as that is clearly true (VW paid a compensation back in the 1960s for this) I just wanted to complete the picture ;-)
The porsche 911 is one of my favorite sportscars, especially the old ones from the 60s-80s but i have to agree that there are a crapload of very, very similar ones and they change very little in between.
911 is assassin creed of the cars, they all are similar. Ferrari is skyrim, they live from old glory, while most of them is with bugs, but we all expect new skyrim.
Not only, they also consistently keep repeating the same old design over and over, like VW and Audi also love to do. I dont dislike Porsche, but buying an exotic sports car with the same mindset of buying a fridge (it works, it is reliable) is really not the way to go for me. A car enthusiast should be also a little bit mad and irrational, because that is the most important thing about being a petrol head and cannot be explained to someone who does not have the same passion.
This is so funny 🤣 Love the fact that he’s not hopping on the bandwagon just because everyone else has. Plus he’s certainly driven enough cars to have a have a basis for his opinion. Looking forward to part 3!
Ever since I was a kid I was always underwhelmed by the porsche, I even thought it looked like a VW Beettle, when I heard Clarkson saying it looks like a Beetle I burst out laughing🤣🤣🤣
@@mk2nathaneveryone says that, i drove one and it felt super dull Driving a Porsche feels very corporate and boring, makes me feel like im on my way to my lawyer job and read case files all day And for the money, i could get better performance from a Corvette or an R35 GTR and save $100k-$300k, Porsche prices are outrageous and certainly not worth the money
@@zeldamenefee5008 you absolutely could not get better performance out of a GTR or a Corvette. A turbo S outperforms Lamborghinis and Ferrari’s twice its price, yet alone a gt3rs around a track… Also, you have to remember that Corvettes are nasty cheap plastic American shitboxes that are hopeless compared to any European rival (I say that as a Brit so I understand that our cars are produced differently for a completely different market to America), and a gtr was so technologically advanced back in the day that now the computers are so dated they really aren’t anything special anymore. I’d also imagine that Porsche prices are inflated over in the US compared to what they are over here
I mean, most people who would ever own one, would do just that - own a single one. They've hit the nail on the head with the styling, and a lot of people just go for the "newest 911", because its the same old styling, but with newer amenities and components. Besides, I can say the same thing about recent Ferraris. I have a Ferrari enthusiast friend, who knows the difference between those modern numbered Ferraris, but I can't tell one from the other. Being a Porsche enthusiast myself, we've reached an understanding there.
Same reason apple can with the iPhone. People don't think, they buy for a brand name and don't realise they're missing out on much better stuff elsewhere.
Two different minded people, "it's a porsche" and the second kind actually want X porsche and when you have the money for it, you have almost the same car with modern capabilities.
Im sorry but I just can't help think "glorified beetle". I mean in every way it would be the perfect car for me to buy...its in the price range i want, the performance i want, the back seat, the engine location, great engineering....but I just wish the lights didn't look like that.
The most fun part in commentaries are "I hate the 911, they always looks the same?" That sound like "I hate Mustangs, they all looks the same" or "i hate Camaros, they all look the same." If it's to be different of 911, why call it a 911 to start? Well, would be fun have a new version of 968. Something like the V8 from Panamera Turbo S and the classic retangular design that made the 924. 944 and 968 so beautiful.
"I get confused with 911. I never know where they all go. Is that a turbo?" "No that's not. That's normally aspirated" "So wait a minute the GT2 is a turbo" "Yes" "And the turbos are turbos obviously" "Yes" "Why is a GT2 not a turbo if it is a turbo?" "It is a turbo" "Yes why is it called the GT2 and not a turbo?" "Because the turbo is called the turbo. You could neve-" I seriously love this convo
Spot-on ..exactly what i was thinking ...the best part " ...been around for 4-5 thousand years'''...overpriced beetle ...and yes the greatest con-job by the germans in auto history ...
I didn't care for Porsche, I had a Countach and a Testarossa poster in my room, till the time I got a chance to drive a 911 when I was in college in the early 90s, I finally got my own brand new 911 in 2016.
Lol - 02:19 😂😂 Richard was loving his Beetle even more! 🚗 02:59 - Why is the GT2 not turbo if it is a turbo? 🚗 06:31 - Professional Motoring journalist! 😂 😂
Many years ago, I'm guessing 2011 (?) I was on the A259 travelling from Seaford to Ashford, Kent. It was very early in the morning. The roads were lovely and quiet at that time. Just passing the Seven Sisters visitor centre I hauled up behind a Ferrari (?) and in front of that was a Range Rover with the rear window open and a film crew recording the Ferrari going up the hill to Friston Pond. I wonder what they did with that clip. I did wave at them as I floored it and sailed past in my 997 2S cabrio😆😆😆
I’m slowly getting into the Porsche brand (very slowly, because I like Jaguars more) but this was hilarious, I always like to know both takes on a specific car or topic like why does he hate it vs why the other guy loves it 😂
@@MassimoMSSR well I wouldn't say its bland and boring. Saw one of the 992 at night time the other day and it looks incredibly awesome. Older 911s maybe yes. But look at this way, When people ask for a supercar, their default choice would be a Ferrari. But when people ask for a Sports car, the default answer would be the 911 Turbo
