Clash Detection in Revit Tutorial ( Interference check ) 

You forgot to mention the "element ID". On larger projects Revit sometimes wont show you the conflict when you ask it to. If you copy and past the 'Element ID' from the clash report into "MANAGE > INQUIRY > Select by ID" Revit will take you right to the element in queston.

If its not already answered, revit doesn't recognise fabricated elements in steel beams in its clash detection. You would need to use navisworks to detect those clashes.

11:10 Just press "Refresh" on the bottom of Interference Report and it will disappear from the issue list :)

I think the clash is still active because it is not allowed to penetrate any structure because it will degrease the strength of that particular beam. We need to provide some kind of stiffeners or additional plate welded to that particular area to fix the issues with stress. Stress calculation should be done - Correct ? As you said, Autodesk should give a better solution.😀

Hi, The Opening in Structural steel beam is the main interference., We should provide the pipe either below the steel beam. We should not provide the Opening in Main structures such as Beams, Columns.

You saved my life with this!

While designing and construction, the bars cannot pass through such steel I beam as it would make the beam weak at section. Hence the clash is detected. Though, the bar can be welded at surface.

I work the HVAC side of this, and openings have always been an issue. There are add ons to help with making the openings, but only paid add ons.

just a thought, would cutting holes in Steel beams compromise the structural integrity of the beam?

Is this will work also for the imported files like DWG or IFC?

Does that last example (duct running through structure, with opening created) also show as interference, when a duct is running through an open-web bar joist?

what the difference between naviswork detection clash? cause my friends said that clash detection only can be running on naviswork.

Great video. Another issue I found when using clashes is that it doesn't take into account phases. You can have a wall set to be demo and still will clash with the new stuff. I could not figure out a solution for that either.

How do you solve the plumbing clash? When you use join I think it has to be the same material, isn't it?

Hi there, tanx for the gra8 tutorials. Maybe the resion to the clash show, That ull always be aware to a cut in a beam so that there will not going to be a stractural failier at site. Jast a theaori.
