I forgot clash of ninja 4. Is balance game also Naruto one tail cloak is banned on tournaments also they still doing tournaments they made communtiy verison they mod the game translate to English u should join community also they don’t pvp match online also balance Naruto one tail cloak 4 is super better
Well, yes but he have bad match ups that Naruto and Sasuke dont, 8 gates is good but don't forget as kids we just button mashed but if you just stand there and block and attack on an opening Rock Lee can be beat. Now is clash of ninja 2 Rock Lee is that guy @@justinwatson7778
Probably due to how the GameCube was already on the way out in place of the Wii internationally, as the first two games were localized later compared to the original games. Even the second game actually released as "Naruto Clash of Ninja European Version", skipping the first game The delay itself is due to the anime being localized and aired later than the original anime and games, so the Revolution games were the compromise in replacing those last two games by the time the international anime story would allow loosely adapting those with rev1 (almost straight) and tev2 (custom story but most character picks are fit with it except for the missing Sound Four).
The Revolution games were just modified versions of the EX games. Which is why not all the characters from 3 and 4 were added. It’s also the reason Part 1 Naruto and Sasuke were added into EX 2 and 3.
@@kleinkaufman8940exactly. Even with the shippuden revolution 2 it was basically the same. The game ends after the kazekage rescue but they threw in characters from Tenshi bridge and Hidan and Kakazu but Naruto can’t even do rasenshuriken in the game
Ultimate Ninja actually varies a LOT between each game. There's a lot of features that were added and taken out between Ultimate Ninja 2 and 5. Like UN2 giving you the option to customize your ninjutsu, an option that carried over to 3 but was removed in 4, UN3 taking away multiple supers so you can only pick one each fight, Ultimate Ninja 4's story mode being a game in and of itself, UN5 forcing the tag mechanic on you. Also GNT 4 wasn't the last Clash of Ninja game. GNT/Clash of Ninja Special is the last game.
I like both Series, but for me Naruto Ultimate Ninja Series from PS2 Era will always have a special place in my heart and soul, these are the most unique Naruto games for me, only Storm 1 was coming close to these Masterpiece Naruto games, especially from gameplay features perspective, I don't know exactly why, but for me, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Series from PS2 Era are so nostalgic, unique and divine at the same time, I have so many memories during my childhood by playing these Unique Naruto games, Naruto games from PS2 Era was always very close to the anime itself because of the unique vibe and charm☯️ 🤷🏻♂️✌️
So a couple of things. (And I apologize for the wall of text in advance) The Ultimate Ninja series used to have a pretty active competitive scene back in the day starting with the release of the Japanese version of Ultimate Ninja 2. That was the game that introduced cancels, and let me tell you: that was a literal game changer. Basically, at certain points in your attack string you could throw a shuriken or do a backdash and it would cancel the animation and reset you to a neutral state, which meant that if your opponent did a substitution, they would now not be able to hit you for free anymore. The bounces you mentioned (which were introduced in UN3) also play into this. They could be used to extend combos or to set up jutsu traps. Unlike in CoN, you didn't regenerate chakra whenever you hit somebody, so chakra management was very important. Using a subsitution took away a much smaller chunk of your chakra compared to CoN, but if you didn't keep your chakra in mind, you'd eventually run out, and at that point you'd be helpless, since a couple of characters could reliably do infinite combos. In fact, some characters, such as Neji relied on this interplay - they were chakra drainers (kinda like in the manga/anime) who wanted you to waste all your chakra with substitutions and then finish you off. This leads into another point that you mentioned near the end, regarding character variety: even before discovering the more in-depth side of things in UN, I found the characters to present more variety and be closer to their anime-representations. For example, Gaara moved slowly and only attacked with sand in UN, whereas in CoN he was basically the same as all other characters, punches and all. Essentially, CoN characters to me felt a lot more samey than the UN characters did. The problem, I think, is that the Ultimate Ninja series hides a lot of its complexity, but the complexity is definitely there. Some of the members of the UN community used to post general gameplay tutorials and character specific strategy videos pretty regularly, as well as tournament footage. I haven't really followed the competitive scene for either series in the last decade now, but if it seems that the scene for the Gamecube games is still alive while that for the PS2 games is dead, then maybe that's partly due to the fact that the UN series transitioned to Ultimate Ninja Storm and the community with it, while the CoN series has been abandoned by the developers after the last game on the Wii, leaving only a few, but very dedicated fans left. (By the way, CoN4 has also introduced cancels. If you're hitting your opponent, you can hit Y and for a fourth of a whole chakra bar, you'll reset to idle, which means you can restart your attack string for more combo opportunities or to prepare for a side step if you're anticipating a substituion counter. Just thought I should point that out)
No need to apologize for the wall of text. It's cool to see what i missed about these games i cover. It's a bit of a shame that the info on the UN competitive scene is hard to find now a days. I do these videos part time and as a hobby so I can't get to everything sadly. So I appreciate it when someone can fill in any gaps I missed and there thoughts as well.
I remember when UN3 came out in America, that shit was so hype and such a core childhood memory. I was under the impression it'd never come out here because of how late it came.
your homeboy enjoyed watching 5 minute cutscenes? per round? sounds like he'd rather watch the show instead. when i got ult ninja 2 from toys r us and it asked me for the 20th time to jackoff the joystick....i went straight back to the cube.
19:56 the bounce is big because it can be used as combo extend, double tapping x to dash to opponent for more combos, or whatever combo u can build from it
Tech isn't the only thing which can make it better, this is a Naruto game and people would want to feel like Naruto not fucking tekken 😂 the amount of cool shit you can do in ultimate ninja far surpasses CON.
@@AK-MS27 Tekken or not the discovery and depth is there where as Ultimate ninja is very easy for anyone to pick up and understand Clasg of ninja I actually as to look up to understand the depth it has is not face value
@@Bajancheese90 People complain but it still sold much better than CON and that's why Takara Tomy lost the Naruto licence a decade ago, sales matter, complains do not.
@@Bajancheese90 I literally agreed on that it has more depth but a kid who wants to do cool shit in Naruto doesn't want something like that, he wants the game which looks 100x cooler which makes you actually feel like Naruto and has an open world instead of fights after fights.
Had Clash of Ninja 2 back in the day. Really liked the game. I especially liked how fluid the combos were and the 4 player free for all was very fun too
I grew up with both Ultimate Ninja and Clash of Ninja but I'll go with Clash. My addiction to that series was unmatched as a kid and it's thanks to it's gameplay
One thing to keep in mind is clash still has tourney meetings for that game at fighting tournaments. It also came out on the gamecube and wii. Which severely undersold the playstation by 3x the amount and the xbox by almost 2x. So its not really able to be stastically compared in popularity to ultimate. I honestly think if they came out on same consoles, clash woulda won
The reason I think ultimate Ninja had more sales is probably because of the mass appeal it had. The game is not as complicated and clash of Ninja but more importantly had a lot of flashy big moves with a more robust single player.
@DrJojoGaming absolutely, only reason I think the way I do is because the wii and gamecube were also more limited in capabilities than both the xbox and playstation. They both had low entry to play. But if they were on an even playing field, with clash having more of a growth ceiling it would have lasted longer. Not only that but each character really feels like your playing the one from the show. It was so unique and they have never made anything like it. But both games certainly had their appeal
@@reomoto688 I had played all Ultimate ninja games and only the Rev 2 and 3 of CoN, and in the CoN series indeed there are characters very unique and close to the source material, like Kankuro's puppet having to be controlled separately, same for Kiba with Akamaru, Kisame's Samehada actually reducing chakra for every hit, Hidan can even do his ritual lol and Lee's with the best iteration of the 8 gates of any naruto game imo.
I liked clash of ninja because it felt like a fighting game, but I liked ultimate ninja for the multitude of different jutsu you could perform not to mention the additional weapons.
I can't speak for Clash of Ninja, but there're plenty of differences between the Ultimate Ninja games, at least the first 4 cause those are the ones I played. Both in terms of content like modes and unlockables and roster, and the gameplay elements of moment to moment gameplay, such as how supers work and other resources
I say both series are better. The only series that suck is the Ninja Destiny series, the Ninja Destiny games are just DS versions of each Clash of Ninja.
I used to hear these talks about the Budokai vs Tenkaichi series for dragonball. Bit my response to those conversations are that we are lucky to have both!
I played both Clash of Ninjas and Ultimate Ninja and loved them both for their uniqueness! Clash of Ninjas 2 was awesome when I was a kid playing co-op with my friends, and Ultimate Ninja 4 came at a time in my life where I wanted to experience gaming independently. Clash of Ninjas 2 is Iconic, Ultimate Ninja 4 is a masterpiece!
The competitive scene in UH5 is just much more fun in my eyes. Especially watching Brazilian players and American players like Rockman use every trick in the book. X dash, square and animation cancels, pokes, intelligent pressure, chaining various combos, juggles, infinites and a brutal chakra management.
Time is a factor Growing up; Ultimate Ninja felt like the *true* experience Now that we're older and time has passed, I feel like Clash of Ninja has aged better
Enjoyed both alot but Ultimate Ninja 1-3 is my absolute favorite of All Naruto games. The big character roster, gameplay and it's mechanics, graphics, the stages, and the mini-cinematics for the Ultimate moves to me were insane, It still holds up today even for its time.
I liked ultimate ninja more, however....... Clash of ninja and especially the Wii version with the cube controllers was a superior experience 💯. Plenty of great memories from the Clash series.
激闘忍者大戦 (Gekitou Ninja Taisen)>Clash of Ninja Fun fact: Gekitou Ninja Taisen actually translates to Fierce Ninja War. But I guess that would have sounded too violent outside of Japan so I guess that's why when the games got localized, it was known as Clash of Ninja
@@DrJojoGamingwould you even consider that the same thing? Its literally like Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi two completely different series as far as I’m concerned only sharing the similar names
They are very similar in combat. All the buttons on the controller do almost the same thing. Doing a combo/special attack in the ultimate Ninja series looks and feels exactly the same as the Ninja storm series. At least compared to the first Ninja storm game. I have not played the newer ones and am sure they have evolved since then.
The clones game mode was introduced in 2, and I’m pretty sure they had a version of it in 1. Clash of ninja 2 might be the best old Naruto game ever made
For me it was the Ultimate Ninja games for the same reason why I preferred the Tenkaichi ges over Budokai. When I want to flex skill level and lab, I play SF, Tekken, KI, DoA, etc. When it comes to anime games, I want to turn all that off, be on evwn playing field with friends and have fast crazy BS epic matches that feels like the show in question.
I honestly loved both i played clash of ninja 1, 2, revolution, and revolution 2 and ive played all ultimate ninjas up to 4 i really liked clash because of four player combat and ultimate ninja had great special animations
I think it boils down to preference and what you are looking for. Straight fighting Clash of ninja, more anime, complex. interactive oriented fighting, Ninja Storm.
I played both when they were brand new but I will say I loved clash of ninja for its graphics and the gameplay was alright while ultimate ninja had a great story mode and the ultimate jutsu were great
the Clash of ninja games were terrible. it was an arcade fighter with Naruto paint, that was how it started, a japanese arcade game that was updated to Console
I played both growing up but I prefer Clash of Ninja more cause it felt more competitive than ultimate ninja ever did I started competing in fighting games at young age and I can tell Clash of Ninja is loved alot in the FGC hell I can still find side tournaments for it here and there for it
Clash of ninja will always be better in my eyes. I saw my friends playing ninja storm... I played it and just couldn't get into it. I seriously drive.I played the first 3 games and my brother and die along with some friends.Play through the story and what not But no matter what I just found myself getting bored. However, I booted up Clash of Ninja 2 on my old silver gamecube with my 100% save file. (Keep in mind, most of my friends are hardcore Playstation fans) None of them even knew how to play and there was way more hype and genuine excitement in the room , with screaming raving and wild reactions all across the room with nearly every match. They all admitted after about 2 hours in: "Yeah, This game is way better!" And/Or "Now we know what you've been talking about." But in all fairness, I'm a classic. SoulCalibur player who grew up playing SoulEdge - SoulCalibur II and the Bloody Roar series. So I guess one could say i'm pretty bias?
Clash of Ninja for me. I love the style and easyness to play. Ultimate for me was super sloooow. I loved Clash of Ninja 4 so much its a shame when one of my favorite characters was never playable in US releases. Hiruzen exclusive to Japan 😭
I like both. I get more from the combos on clash of ninja (rev 2/3/GNT4) those are the only ones worth playing nowadays imo. Ultimate ninja 3,4 and 5 go crazy. In Gameplay, clash of ninja wins, overall naruto experience tho? Story, gameplay, cutscenes, special attacks? Ultimate ninja clears.
Agreed! Overall party game experience is go with the Nintendo Clash of Ninja games. The main thing Ultimate Ninja has is a better story mode & way more character variety
I miss when there were different types of games on another system, that's why I love collecting them, except for the 360 ones they kinda aged bad for my taste to get them again and they're not backwards compatible. CoN for the multiplayer and UN for the anime/manga accuracy and story. Not to mention their visuals look so good till this day on both. Those were the days when game companies tried to keep up with the manga with that current popular character in their gameplay first. Shippuden's games were out of control that in America, Revolution 3 has the Taisen EX1 story but has Taisen EX3 roster along with their exclusive American Rev 2 cast just to fill in and have a complete roster. And Taisen Special added Toad Sage Naruto, Minato, Pain, Raikage and Bee. Completely skipping Toby and Konan. That is insane to me how popular the Shippuden middle arc was.
I had both growing up and played them all but clash of ninja had more tech and was more of a legit fighting game ,ultimate ninja was cool for all the characters and transformations they could do
I played Ultimate series competitive back in the day, so opinion might be a bit biased, but I felt ultimate series had deeper mechanics. You can still find tournament matches floating around
Clash of ninja by far, also there are Y cancels in GNT (Clash of ninja) 4 as to where you can cancel an attack and continue the combo (watching some combo videos explains this a bit more than i can)
Clash of ninja was like budokai where ultimate ninja was the tenkaichi of the naruto series. I personally go with ultimate ninja for the jutsus Awakenings and ninja tools
Ultimate ninja and it’s not even close clash of ninja one and 2 despite having great memories with those games back in the days losses the clash series this competition. Me and my friend use to get busy on Ultimate ninja 3 🤣🤣
I prefer the Clash of Ninja series but I absolutely love PS2 Ultimate Ninja games, especially 3. The story mode and free roam mode were separate from each other, which I prefer. 0:47 There is a reason UN3 is the most favored of that series. 7:00 No. The entire story is an alternate version of the Sasuke Retrieval Arc 10:42 The game does tell you “mission complete” when you complete the objective, allowing you to quit the match you’re on.
While Ultimate Ninja 3 had a ton of content for part 1 and paved the way into the Storm series, the Clash of Ninja series is a "better" "fighting game" imo. The ultimate Ninja series is perfect for experiencing the story and arcade/party game, while Clash Of Ninja is 100% more technical and mechanical. If the west got Clash of Ninja special, and it wasn't rushed and came with all of the cut content and Pain, I genuinely think it would have competed with the Storm series. But crunch and publishing/licensing issues led to Tomy losing their license for Naruto.
Checked out one of the videos from your channel. The amount of substitution in these matches are crazy, they are chipping away at their lifes. I noticed that these matches are a couple of years old. Is there a channel that does current archives of matches or tournaments?
as a man who played the ultimate ninja and ultimate ninja heroes series, I gotta say I miss these type of naruto games. the 3d games aren't bad by any means but we got the same story for the past 3 ninja storm games and I'd rather have gotten another 2D game like these instead of another cash grab
I will say those two are some of the best in all of Naruto. Chronicles and path up there as well. However I will say clash of ninja is leagues above any other game. The GameCube and Wii clash of ninja series by a significant margin has the best gameplay and fighting mechanics of any Naruto game ever.
as a naruto fan whos played all the clash games, i wished that 3 and 4 were brought to usa because they look so fire. there is a way to get 4 with everything in english as used in tournaments but i dont know how to get that emulated rom version because it also gets frequent balance patch updates made by developers of the english rom version for tournament purpose as well which is cool
I got the English patch by upading the original rom into a website that gave me back the patched version. I believe it is regularly updated with the newest version.
my cousin owned clash of ninja and he was biased in loving it cause thats what he was used to and I casually beat ultimate ninja and I loved its style later on burning the game for my ex family's ps2
i wish they released on both systems cause never got to play un as a kid except once but it was rad. but clash was awesome i love the budokai style fighting was translated well
i always enjoyed the clash series more, the ultimate ninja didn't feel as good sinse had much about waching animation of special doing the right sequence of buttons while Clash were more dinamic and fun, the 4 player combat was crazy since it felt more like an arena where your hits could hit anyone...
Both game series are great in their own ways, me personally tho, I have more found memories of ultimate ninja. I'm not so much of a competitive gamer, so having a combat system as in-depth and comparable to takken isn't something so important to me, the combo sytem in ultimate ninja is good enough for me. Ultimate Ninja definitely feels more like a casual game for the fans vs more of an arcade fighter...I mean CON has a story but just thru static imagaes with voice acting than it goes to the fighting. Ultimate ninja 1 was the same way but they changed it later on. Ultimate Ninja 2 still had the text box but it was animated more, not the level of a cutscene but very damn close and ultimate ninja 3's sandbox mode was literally based on an OVA on top of having the typical story mode going thru the arcs than with ultimate ninja 4, the story is written and told in an immersive way that we haven't had yet. I feel like ultimate ninja was more of a fan game overall and had a different sense for it and therefore a different level of love was made into the game. Im not saying no love went into CON but i feel like ultimate ninja is more of the fan game closer to the story Naruto. Now I will also like to note that both games had such in impact on the naruto community that when they created the storm series...it was basically ultimate ninja and CON combined together. The battles are 3D like CON, theres more combos such as up combo's and down combo's, it took them till storm 4 to be able to switch between characters but you can, team ultimates which were in CON if i rember correctly as well as it being competitive so both games series are honestly great and served there purposes.
I like Clash of Ninja a bit better. But Ultimate Ninja actually had all the games localized, so I usually play that one for now I didn't know CoN4 had an English patch. I'm on my way
Kumite is NOT new to clash of ninja 4. It was first introduced in the second game. Sorry, I just played the crap out of tjat one so I had to correct him 😅
I remember playing it on clash of Ninja 2 when I was younger. I meant new as in not in the first game since i only played those two games. Will try to re-word things better in the future.
I think that Naruto ultimate ninja was made to be a graphic spectacle. Whereas Naruto clash of ninja was made to be a genuine fighter. They can't be compared
@jonnycarter46 I think in the ultimate ninja games, were way better with anime accurate jutsu and visuals. They also gave us a lot of fan service moments. The graphics weren't bad on CON they just weren't as focused on cinematics as proven in their story mode. They leaned more towards game play rather than visuals. That's why they are two different types of games and shouldn't be compared.
It’s always been clash of ninja. All characters felt unique and if we got a clash of ninja for switch it would go so hard. The online community would go insane today
You're wrong. Revolution 1 is an enhanced Wii port of Gekito Ninja Taisen 3 from the GC. GNT4 was never released outside of Japan, so we never got the Sasuke Recovery Arc and 3v3 mode. Revolution 2 is an original American entry, not adapting any Japanase game, and Revolution 3 is basically an adaptation of GNT EX's story mode (Kazekage Rescue Arc) with playable characters from EX2 and EX3. The last game of that franchise was Gekito Ninja Taisen Special for the Wii and it has an original conquest-style story mode and includes Minato and K-Bee.
I played both the ultimate ninja series plus narultimate accel games as well and the clash of ninja series. Both games are great! I prefer the clash of ninja series i like that arena feel. I think people like ultimate ninja better because they hate Nintendo or just not fans of it. I know lots of people who wouldn't touch clash of ninja because it was on GameCube unfortunately
