Clashes broke out between two groups near a Kali Temple in Punjab's Patiala after a Shiv Sena procession came face to face with a Sikh group. To disperse the crowd, the police fired into the air. As seen in the video, the two groups are seen waving swords and pelting stones at each other.
Taking cognizance of the incident, Punjab CM tweeted, "The incident of clashes in Patiala are deeply unfortunate. I spoke with the DGP, peace has been restored in the area. We are closely monitoring the situation and will not let anyone create disturbance in the State. Punjab’s peace and harmony is of utmost importance."
