There was a clang in there... I'm sure of it... And we're all a little racist. Unless you didn't kinda laugh at the engrish (and the german if you actually speak it) in the VN. Then you're a saint.
@@edwardsantiago9109*Heaven's feel Illya singing in german is deserved* , after all the germans did terrible things like -humiliate france in 1870 and 1940- the holocaust and ww2 I guess, and even worse, they 7x1 Brazil never forget
I have to say, Ufotable animation is otherworldly but the fighting scenes in the Vn were better, Idk why but my thought of fights in the Vn were a lot more slow and methodic, were every hit matter than the fast paced of the anime.
@@anannoyingweeb359 It lets you run your imagination wild, and that can be really fun to imagine how the fight is going in your head. Something that is lost when converted to video in a way.
The Noble Phantasms are released. But... "Shirou...!" A blue rushing wind repels them. "Saber...!" Gilgamesh jumps back instantly. Even Gilgamesh is cautious against Saber. He wants to avoid hand-to-hand combat with her, as his technique is inferior. "Good. Are you all right, Shirou? Sorry that I am late. I will take over now. Please stay away." "No. I can manage Gilgamesh by myself. You're the one to go, Saber." "Wh-What?" "What are you saying Shirou...!? You will fight him in that state of yours? No a magus cannot match a Servant in the first place. You should know that...!" "Yeah but Gilgamesh and I are an exception. Trust me. I'll probably be able to beat him." ...Saber gasps. Saber is surprised because she believes my words.
To be fair, Archer's strategy when facing Lancer in UBW required stances with lots of openings. He was baiting Lancer to aim at those, as he'd rather risk instant death in doing so than get gradually worn down by lesser hits. It also makes use of one of the most basic combat tactics: control your enemy's actions, and manipulate them to your advantage.
Archer would probably do something similar to what Shirou did in UBW: use his Reality Marble, then proceed to sword spam faster than Gilgamesh can. If Archer can defeat Gilgamesh before he draws Ea, then Gil's dead. If not, then bye-bye Archer.
I think he probably got more things than just sword spam and other things. With how long he lived, I wouldn't be surprised if he could just manipulate his reality marble and altering time and space. For example: accelerating time, teleporting or some other world breaking things. Idk what he can do I haven't researched him fully but I think he should be able to do those things if he has an eternity to grow. Because after all a reality marble changes the entire world into their inner reality and start bending it from there.
@@thatguy3000 His Reality Marble does one thing and one thing only: manufacture post-modern armaments. While it can be used in a few different ways, that's all Unlimited Blade Works can do. The only thing that can change is how it looks once he drags your ass inside.
Do not forget all the goodies he has in the Gates of Babylon, including a sword that can negate regenerative abilities, a mirror that reflects any magic back at its user, and a chain that can bind Gods. People forget about those because he only uses them whenever he feels like it is necessary.
Exactly. Like you said, the odds are in Archer's favor, but he still needs to be careful. I'm basically saying that, due to Archer's versatility, Gil's armor shouldn't be too much of an obstacle.
Great moment in the VN ^^. Here it said something like "If this was a gunfire, the blue man's weapon would be like a sniper gun, and the red man's would be like a shotgun."
That would be Saber vs Lancer. Here its when Archer manage to block all of Lancer's blows and Lancer realized that as quote from the novel "He will lose if he takes him as a mere bowman".
The bounded field does explain how he was able to hold off Berserker. God Hand was nerfed to the point where his katana was actually able to hold him off. It still says a lot about his skill that he was able to hold him off despite Berserker's A ranked stats.
If by serious you mean use Ea then your right, since Ea is what makes him so much more powerful than everyone else. Without Ea however Archer (Emiya) is more than capable of taking him down in a fair fight.
When it comes down to the wire, stats only mean something when it comes to Noble Phantasms like Hercules's God Hand. Lancer had some shoddy stats but is probably the 3rd most dangerous Servant in the war behind Hercules and Gilgamesh due to his incredible skillset (Runes, retarded speed & Gae Bolg, which can kill anyone no matter what unless they have A or B rank luck like Gilgamesh.)
True. Stats ultimately mean dick when you consider that A. Berserker has the highest stats across the board and yet always loses. and B. Archer, despite having seemingly low stats, ends up being THE game changer in all three scenarios.
Again I'm not forgetting. Its just that Shirou was less than 1/10 of Archers power meaning both his combat skills and projections were vastly weaker than his older sell's. Despite that he still pushed Gilgamesh to the edge in hand to hand combat. I take this to mean that if Gilg slipped up for even a minute and engaged Archer himself in hand to hand combat it would be long before his weapons shattered and his armor broke because he wouldn't have time to bring out Ea with Archer's onslaught.
He did more than push Gil to the edge. Shirou cut his freakin' arm off. The fight was over and done at that point. The only reason Gil remained a threat after that was because he was attempting to use Shirou as an anchor with Heaven's Chain so he could pull himself out of the void. Thankfully Archer delivered the coup de grace with a sword fired straight into Gilgamesh's forehead.
Also keep in mind that Shirou realized his true potential, firing up all the hidden magic circuits inside him. This allowed him to create the Reality Marble, which is magic on the level of a sorcery. At that point in time, Shirou's power was on the level of Archer. The reason everyone assumed Shirou to be weak is because he only used one magic circuit at a time (two at most). This is the only way he knew how ... at least until that critical moment in UBW. Once he realized how to activate all the magic circuits within him, the game was over. Shirou became capable of some of the most powerful magic in existence.
I said Archer's chances of beating Gilgamesh are good specifically because his powers are pretty much designed to beat Gilgamesh. However, it is NOT a good idea to underestimate the King of Heroes even when you have the upper hand against him.
Isn't that Archer's default strategy? Leave 'openings' in his stances so that he can respond to enemies before he would normally be able to determine their target, allowing him to even the odds despite having lower stats?
It would make sense to the reason why Berserker could not get through. Caster's Spell + Assassin's impossible skills= Awesome Defense. Caster had her bases covered.
Perhaps but that is mere speculation. Don't forget the rules of God Hand also make Bereserker immune to something when hes killed by it once. It would have to take a combo of immense skill and wit for Fake Assassin to drive back a force like Berserker.
Unfortunately thats not really true because Servants themselves are part of a ranking system lol. Their stats are ranked and in general certain classes are favored over others and of course the individual spirit comes with perks as well such as getting a bonus for their homeland or how renown they are. Its true that the power difference isn't so great that they can't over come each other like in DBZ but many servants are more powerful than others which is why strategy often decides the winner.
cont. Take a look at fake Assassin for example as well. He drove every other servants away from the temple during the UBW route, excluding Caster of course and he has low stats and no NP... he didn't even use his class bonus to help him in his fights. Hercules was a major threat to all the servants in the 5th War excluding Gilgamesh. Even Saber wouldn't be able to defeat him at her full strength. There are just certain servants that can trounce most other ones with little to no effort.
Did you know Fate/stay night was originally written by its creator as a non-adult-only story? But it was adapted to be adult-only for its release as a game. They threw around "magical contract" and "please give me magical energy" a little too much for my liking. They should've tried a bit harder in my opinion.
Yeah, I agree. They should've focused more on actual romance and less on it being a necessity. It's a narrative device that can work only once. Thankfully the sequel Hollow Ataraxia fixes that problem. Shirou and the ladies do the deed not out of necessity, but out of love.
In the event of Gilles de Rais vs Hercules neither would win unless Hercules regained his sanity and was able to use Nine Lives. But taking into account God Hand Gilles de Rais wouldn't be able to kill him more than 1 time with his attacks after which he would become immune. Its the same reason why Saber couldn't beat him even though her Excaliblast is powerful enough to evaporate that river and Gilles de Rais. With some direction Hercules could attack Gilles inside the monster.
Barring Arturia, Gilgamesh, and Iskander (the three Servants with EX-ranked NP's), which Servants are absolutely stronger than any other Servant? You could maybe say Archer. His best assets are prior knowledge and an incredibly flexible armory that has a weapon that's ideal for most situations. He can still be beaten by other Servants. I think he'd lose to True Assassin, since Clairvoyance (C) doesn't trump Presence Concealment (A+), and Archer's Luck (E) can't stop Delusional Heartbeat.
That's one of his character flaws that proves to be fatal: hubris. He underestimates Archer, and SEVERELY underestimates Shirou, which proves to be his undoing. In UBW, Shirou wipes the floor with him.
@@mr.battle20 Shirou doesn't exactly wipe the floor with him. He basically bum rushed the guy before he ever got a chance to be serious. If Shirou hadn't cut off Gil's arm when he was going for the EA it still would've been a gg ez win for Gil even with Shirou previously overpowering him.
Nasu actually said that True Assassin vs. fake Assassin is a draw, even though fake Assassin held his own against nearly every other Servant. Also, who would win: Hercules, or Gilles de Rais (eldritch abomination mode)? I'd say that Hercules would lose, because Zero Caster heals fast enough that Ionioi Hetairoi couldn't inflict lasting damage, and Berserker can't out-DPS thousands of Servants. Yet Saber OTK'd Caster. Nasu wrote the system so that type advantage is more important than raw power.
Oh I'm not forgetting it's just that Archer is capable of making those as well. His unlimited blade words has all noble phantasms aside from EX ranked one (i.e. Avalon and Ea). In addition to that it can record stats of servants and their special skills along with the special skills of their NP unlike Gilgamesh's GoB. Aside from that Archer is drastically more skilled then Gilgamesh. Shirou at less the 1/10 of Archer's power defeated him after all.
Archer would just have to beat him with his Reality Marble up before Gil uses Ea. Also, you are forgetting that Gilgamesh was not wearing his armor, which led to his downfall. Despite that, there is a good chance Archer could defeat Gilgamesh.
Practically meaningless advantages when you look at how little he had compared to others. Low stats excluding Agility, no armor, no NP, a class perk that he didn't use because it conflicted with his honor, the same field you speak of also forbid him from having any sort of decent mobility as he was always stuck near the gate. The only reason Saber at her peak defeated him was because Excalibur as a sword was superior to his long katana and bent it while they clashed leaving a hole for her.
Sasaki Kojirou wasn't even remotely fit for the role of Assassin. In an ideal situation, he would be summoned as Saber. This is fitting because his summoner was Caster, a servant herself. She was breaking the rules, so it was a foregone conclusion that the "servant" she summoned was so inappropriate for the role. Had he been summoned properly and in the proper role, Sasaki Kojirou would likely have fared far better. That said, he didn't give a rat's ass about the Holy Grail. He just wanted a good fight.
We don't know the exact limits of Gil's armor, just that it's virtually immune to the C-rank Invisible Air (meaning the C- rank Kanshou and Bakuya can't scratch it) and that Ea and Excalibur can pierce it. It's possible, but not certain, that Archer could invoke a powerful NP like Caladbolg or Merodach to pierce the armor. That, or he could simply use an NP like Gae Dearg to bypass the armor and harm Gil.
Ranking Servants isn't really feasible, because Nasuverse doesn't use 'power levels'. Characters have specific matchups where they're better, but relatively few characters (ie, Gilgamesh) absolutely trump everyone else. For example, Sakura and Shirou are far better against Servants than against enemies like DAA's. And I would put UBW Archer as being far more dangerous than Lancer, because he has prior knowledge of how the 5th Grail War went.
Did you miss Archer slashing True Assassin out of a fight in HF? True Assassin is utterly weak by itself its extremely unlikely that it would defeat any servant which is why they use it to assassinate masters. Archer is dangerous because his UBW is almost as powerful as Ea if you think about it. It can record and reproduce all NP's and combined with his reinforcement magic they can stand up to the originals as well as copy stats as seen in HF when Shirou uses the arm to gain Berserkers strength.
Sorry to butt in on you, but watch Fate/Zero if you haven't yet. It explicitly shows that Ea was both perfectly capable of destroying and kind of supposed to be used against Reality Marbles. Just pointing that out :>
Xoruam Ea doesn't destroy Reality Marbles. The reason Iskander's Reality Marble disappeared when Gilgamesh used Ea is because Ea killed half of his army, and the Reality Marble is collectively maintained by Iskander and the entire army.
That Doesn't Really change much. HF Shiro shows that he could use UBW's increased projection performance and extra materials While not evoking the reality marble itself, As shown with Projection of Excalibur Alt. , and possibly Avalon in Fate but he had Avalon inside of him to directly copy so it's hard to count that one. And considering that Nameless could only use Excalibur in UBW, While heavily downgraded, HF Shiro couldn't have made it, let alone invoked the NP Release, in his state without extra help from UBW. The only thing that the reality marble version has over inner UBW is a ton of Pre-made swords to fire or pick up with a flat terrain however if the space itself is broken then all the benefits are lost including the projection increace.
@@shinji136 no, ea destroy reality marble not army. The thing is Gilgamesh don't use his ea against Shirou's reality marble. That is one of the reason why he is defeated.
