Class 303 EMU (and AP Sound Pack) Review ~ Train Simulator

The Class 303 was a veteran of the suburban rail network in Glasgow, entering service in 1960 and remaining in service until 2002. Despite the long and varied career of these units, and the many different liveries they carried, the class was done dirty in TS classic.
The now-defunct Iron Horse House made a (rather basic) Class 303 model in 2013, which was later sold to Dovetail and rereleased on Steam in 2015. The unit is awful in its default state (only one livery combined with limited functions and terrible sounds), only made drivable by the addition of an Armstrong Powerhouse sound pack that - annoyingly - is no longer available. Go figure.

This is good. You should do more reviews. One terrible old AP sound pack that comes to mind is the first class 158 sound pack they did.

What I’d give to have the 303 sound pack🥲 the problem with AP is not withdrawing products, but withdrawing products that don’t have any replacement. Like, seriously what the heck you literally have a monopoly why take the product away. If you don’t want to sell let someone else sell it for you or just put it up for free. The community still wants it🫠

I still haven't seen AP explain why they got rid of nearly all their sound packs without a replacement. Unless they think that they can get away with it and still still get praise from the fanboys, no matter what stupid thing they do.

@@TheTrainspotterFromTaurangafrom what I've heard from people I know, ap pulled products because it wasn't as good as their newer products. Some of them were really old and ap didn't think they were appropriate to sell. But some are coming back to an improved standard with more features and better sound

@@potatoman451 ngl that reasoning doesn’t stand, for 1, there is no replacement for said products so there’s nothing to compare with it and for another, if AP thinks they are not good enough for modern standards they could either give it for free or sell them at a lower price. The main problem is only AP thinks they’re not good enough for selling and everyone in the community still wants the withdrawn products.

The Class 40 they made with Railright is the best example of that kind of situation; it's a good model despite its age, and I'll wager that plenty of people still want that locomotive.

4:33 With all due respect, I would like to completely disagree on this subject. I can definitely see the reasons to dislike the new Cloud Pack, however the other 3 products mentioned should’ve not been disrespected like that. Firstly, I wouldn’t consider 411/412 or 50 packs recent. Secondly, 411/412 is a very advanced train with a whole lot of various features, liveries and differences. It is very enjoyable to drive and is certainly one of, if not the best products AP (& MKS) have ever made. As for the 50, I would like to say I am quite confused as to how you state to like the 37 earlier in the video, however there say to dislike the price of the 50. Class 50 is an awesome model made by Bossman Games, which is just as advanced as the AP/MKS 37. It also includes a lot of different variants and even offers the FVX Motorail flats in the same package. Considering how it is currently the same price as either one of the 37 packs, I can’t see a reason to complain. Now as to the newly released 142, I again don’t think that the criticism is deserved. That pack includes multiple different additions and changes to the base 142, as well as unique scripting, for example the bounce factor, and, most important of all, includes 3 different soundsets, which alone is, usually, an expensive and complicated feature to include. Again I would like to note I mean no disrespect with this comment, but rather want to merely voice the fact that I consider your opinion not fully justified.

Nice video like always. It's such a shame that the AP product is gone. ON A SIDE note though, there's been confirmation going that the Class 142 from Blackpool Branch Lines will Layer in on the WCL route as well. But fr tho The class 303 is one of my favorite trains, its really sad how this emu has been poorly represented and forgotten by this point. Really wish a new model for TSC or TSW shows up but i pretty much doubt it. Its better than nothing ig

I refuse to buy West Cornwall Local, and I'd rather see the 142 layer on to Tees Valley instead.
