Class 58's in France on the construction of the TGV, Paris to Strasbourg route April 2010 

all but 1 of the 58's were scrapped on site at alizey depot in france

They weren’t needed at the time

They were built to do MGR work, that traffick disappeared so why would you not sell them on? Would u prefer them sat rotting or chopped up?

@@nickedwards2904 used a couple in holland on Freightliner traffic, could do the same in the uk could be regeared if needed

Because they were sold on the cheap to EWS. It was not a “we” decision.
