Yeah its quick, the driver held off at the beginning most of the time, so id wager 39 seconds to 60mph truly. It's low gear ratio too. I.e you can hear the motor maxing out around 90mph via the humming sound, usually 465s and evwn 387s hum at their higher end speed. They are also much smoother than desiro cities. Even the acceleration. You didn't get pulled back..but somehow your at 85mph in no time. Also.....met an alstom team member and had a chat , at the same time the driver let me into the cab but i wasn't allowed to film it. Its actually pretty sick!🫠> I was very happy
Notice also , you could hear the motors properly until like 70mph and even faintly in the 80mph range. But the motor hum took over, that same hum 465s have at their top end speed indicating its max motor spin rate, the same can be said for the 730s, the 70 to 90mph range may legit be where the motor is maxed out somewhat. . so much nicer to listen to than the other aventras. That's another reason these are my favourite aventras The alstom engineer said these are more structurally similar to class 710s than 720s. But the 710s don't even have the same motor sounds. So these are definitely unique aventras.
You need more subs more people need to see your videos there amazing and i got to be honest the class 730 doesn't sound different to the other aventra trains
Thanks alot!! I appreciate it. And i think They do sound different in the sense that class 720s are alot quiter throughout acceleration. 730s have a slight audiable edge over them. They way the pitch rises it starts to scream earlier at lower speeds on class 720s then goes out of hearing range earlier too. the 730s rise in pitch slower and can be heard subtly at 75mph. The vf drive is also more audiable slightly , and lastly motor hums at higher speed. This is a characteristic unique to 730s out of all aventras. This is also a characteristic seen on older rolling stock like the 465s. And 387s. And even class 395s or the 96 tube stock. It's the subtle differences. Overall the motors are audiable at higher speeds whereas 720s cut off sound at nearer 60mph and after that you don't hear them at all. Its subtle but there is a slight difference in Infrustructure for sure. I was even talking to an alstom engineer on the train as he was assessing its performance. And said they are more similar to class 710s than they are 720s.
