You had me hooked as soon as you showed us your class list... I immediately thought, Ah! Fellow Nerd! And then you share your Pokemon evolution trip, and now I'm thinking, Whoa, Kindred Spirit! Thanks for making these videos! ^_^
Thank you for the great tip about the avatars. I knew that I could change them but not from outside the Dojo file. I look forward to using Pokemon and Minions next year. I am so excited to set my class up for the next school year since this year is over due to COVID 19.
Thank you. Really good advice especially about the very specific things you want children to do, like put lids on glues. It's those little things that can get very wearing on teachers and this is a great way to train them into better habits.
Thanks so much for this Jenn. Do you use Class Dojo in your classroom? I find it to be extremely useful for behaviour management and for motivating the kids!
Yes, it is part of our school-wide PBS. I’m a Speech Pathologist and use it with all 90+ students on my caseload. I didn’t know that I could change the monster icons. I’m excited to change things up. Thanks for sharing!
I have downloaded it as a parent. My son has some minor sensory processing issues and reward charts have never really worked for us but dojo points have worked because its the continuity from school to home.
Super great info. I love your tips, but please slow down with the logistics just a little. I have to pause and replay.. Overall, your tips are excellent. You get the most points in the class!!
I started using Class Dojo, but when they kids want to use their points eg. 100 for a fancy pencil. It is a pain to remove their 100 points. Not to mention if 10 plus kids want to get a fancy pencil for 100 points. What do you do to make it more manageable for when they "spend" their points?
This is a really random question unrelated to the video but I was hoping you could help. I've been on a placement for one day each week in my local primary school as part of my college course, and I'm due to finish next week. I really want to say thank you to all the staff for being so welcoming, but I have no idea what to get them as a thank you present. Any ideas? 😊
OO good question. My first instinct was to say tecahers love stationary maybe grab them some gel pens for their marking! Something practical perhaps. Alternatively if your into baking - can never have enough cupcakes!
If it’s an effort to bake them from scratch buy some ready made buns and just personalise the icing on top. You’re probably already extremely busy if you’re completing your placement so you don’t want to give yourself too much to do! How was the placement? Do you feel you were well supported?
For Teachers I loved it there! My placement was what helped me to decide that Primary School teaching was what I wanted to study at University! I am going to miss it!!😣
What is your perfect age to teach do you think? I like teaching from around 7-11 year olds but might want to try teaching older or younger eventually :)
I love engaging students with it and training them from day one to modify their behaviour and choices, but i love the design so cute and clear, and also love their growth mindset series.
