Had one back in the day. It was a very sweet ride and got lots of attention. Loved to drag race it, even up until I was 9 months preggers. Thanks for sharing. Great memories of a very special vehicle.
I bought a 72 GTO new at the end of 71 and owned it until 1999. I have regretted selling it since. I watch all the car restoration shows on TV and now know what could be done to upgrade it. Wish I had kept it but I replaced it with a 1999 BMW M3 which was faster and handled better but not the same a a big block. Just sold the M3 last year to a guy who works at the local BMW dealer. New cars have lots of bells and whistles but not the big rumble of old.
Sweet ride! I wish I had inherited my uncle's '67 GTO with tri-power purchased brand new when he got out of the Army, but he sold it for a VW bug when he got married! He used to take me to junior high in it and I felt like a king in that ride.
