This is the Fells Point that I miss. Before all the development. Back when it was seedy. Lots of Greek seamen. (Take that any way you want to.) It was much more interesting.
Checked it out last night-not bad for footageas old as it appears to be! Looks like late 60s/early 70s, and the format looks like straight 8 but not really sure on that. Were you able to compare reels of film to see the difference? By the way, if you look hard, you see street trackage, which back then was B&O operated!! The street track came out of Mt Clare and went east on Pratt to reach here! Wish there was vid of that!!
Morning! I just sent you an email. We work with the Fell's Point Preservation Society and would love to use this footage in a video to mark our work as a non-profit advocacy organization that now runs the Fell's Point Fun Festival. Appreciate it!
Let's see...the moon landing was 1969. The holes are only on one side of the film; it's their size, along with the picture, that determines the film format. It won't say anyplace on the film itself. But, with reg 8, the the hole in the reel is just big enough for a pencil to pass through, while with super 8, the hole is considerably bigger than a pencil. Of course it's possible to put reg 8 on a super 8 reel but most folks don't.
