Here in Pittsburgh, WPXI carried the show for several months, but then they dropped the show ... and it then went to station WNEU for a few months after that.
What have we learned from this first week on the air? We learned that if your name is David, you would find nothing but Wild Cards on your first turn. Also, never leave out an important word, third time's a charm no matter what player is involved and if you're Alex Trebek, please let go of the outgoing contestant or s/he might fall down.
Thanks to RU-vid I can watch these shows. We had a NBC affiliate in Richmond, Va who did not like NBC in the mid to late 80s and early 90s!!!! They never gave this show a chance to see if Richmond viewers would like it!
Was there a preemption of Classic Concentration in the first week, as Alex implies this is the Friday show and ALF and Valerie's Family were on MOnday nights back then, and Hands of a Stranger aired 5/10 and 5/11 as per a NY Times article found on their website.
+Zach Horan This actually looks like a special rebroadcast (most of the ads were PSAs) and a TV Guide that I have (a San Francisco edition) mentions a "To Be Announced" slot at 11:30 PM that following Sunday Night after 100K Pyramid. The other episode looks to be a normal daytime airing based on the ads/promo. Interestingly, KOFY also aired the $25K Pyramid prior to CC during the 9 AM hour despite being from different networks. KRON pre-empted CC with $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime and the CBS station was Group W and aired Hour Magazine in place of the $25K Pyramid.
