The Heavy Rider is not supposed to be changed in the mod, you are supposed to play as Knuckles since his battle with Heavy King is now against the Sonic 3 & Knuckles Mecha Sonic. Also to all those who keep asking about the Sonic 2 Mecha Sonic fight being different from the original it’s just a retexture of Heavy Shinobi. Also it’s just a mod so what do you expect?

I'd suggest using the heavy king boss and swap in mecha sonic for the sky sanctuary boss fight

If you play as knuckles you get different Boss Battle at sky Sanctuary zone
