He didn't even mention that this version of Front Mission has a brand-new second campaign showing the entire story from the other side's viewpoint! It's like getting two Front Mission games in one!

This game inspired me so much that i (**A person with ZERO exp. in making games**) want to make a 16bit spiritual successor preferably as a tactical s-rpg, but if that is too difficult to learn how to make then ill make a regular JRPG but with customizable Wanzers wish me luck!

I really wish square would translate front mission 5. They don't even have to do the voice overs,just the text and put it on psn for download. I'd buy it day one.

R.I.P. FRONT MISSION SAGA... Hopefully a better company decides to bring you back, sooner or later, since Square Enix was too incompetent to truly know what they had in their hands. One of the best SRPG series (my personal favorite) ever. FRONT MISSION RULES...

Love Front Mission! I couldn't believe what they did to Evolved. I didn't know there was a Front Mission 5 out, though somehow it seems like the series is a lost cause here in the states. That's really saddening, we're getting less and less tactical RPGs like this these days.

I remember having beaten front mission 3 , 4 and 5 . Back then it was my favourite tactical RPG ever . Such an underrated tactical one , I also played alot front mission 2 but I hadn't been able to finish the game due to the language . It was entirely in Japanese therefore I ended up getting stuck in the middle of the game .

You can actually play Front Mission 5 with fan translation if you have a modded ps2. I have played it and they have done an excellent job translating. Second favorite Front Mission after 3.

Yes you are my friend. :) The DS remake has been really well streamlined and while I'm normally a person who hates touch screen controls I can't deny they fit this game really well. Not to mention it's just that touch brighter as well. We didn't get the game here in the UK so I had to import my copy...it's not a cheap game at all.

This version of Front Mission 1 is by far the most complete, and the best one of the bunch. The number of hidden Wanzers is just insane. Though, once you have completed it twice, the enemies really lack any sort of winning strategy against you because you'll just be too powerful. Even in the toughest difficulty. I don't know how many times I re-played the OCU storyline, but I loved it.

I really wish this series would get back on track, but Square decided to run it into the ground by turning the game into an Armored Core knock-off.

Just goes to show how worthless Square has become ever since they merged with Enix. All they ever really cared about was the Final Fantasy series, which has also been lagging since FFX. SquareEnix squandered the Front Mission series so bad, they never realised the gem of a series they had in their hands. In all honesty, they don't deserve to have such an awesome series as Front Mission. Hopefully, some other company picks up Front Mission so they might give the series the respect it deserves...

@@golemcrimson Yes, I heard about the remakes of _'Front Mission 1st'_ & _'Front Mission 2'_ but, what *_REALLY_* floored me is the news that apparently, they are gonna remake _'Front Mission 3'_ as well. I've been holding out on getting a Switch for quite a while but now, I think it's time to go down and get one. Gotta get ready for _'Front Mission 1st'_ in November. Can't wait for all 3. I hope they also remake 4 & 5...

Front Mission is my favorite TTRPG. 1 was... Not the greatest TTRPG ever buuuut As for the first in a series goes ? It's absolutely fantastic, definitely blows alot of other first games out of the water. 2.... Hurry up and translate it. 3 was absolutely amazing. 4 was surprisingly great 5... Hurry up and translate it !! We are getting 1&2 remade on switch, hopefully they will put in real effort and 1 won't be a worse version and we can finally play 2 all the way through in English... And maybe, if it sells well and we're lucky... 3-5 remakes as well 😂 a man can dream.

Uh, they changed the formula twice before. With the second game bearing "Front Mission" in the title ever released. "Front Mission Series: Gun Hazard." Then again, it was an alternate universe. Then there was "Front Mission: Alternative" which was a Real-Time Strategy game. Oh, and there were also novels and manga. That were canon, and mandatory to have a complete picture of the entire plot. Yeah. Check out "Front Mission (dot) info"

they have front mission 5 english version on the fan page. I played it. it's amazing. Just download the iso file. If u know how to burn it out and play on ps2 do it or just use emulator and play it.

Ah I remember venturing into this great series with FM3 on the PS1. I played a translation of the Snes game and that was fun too. Really wanting to give FM2 and 4 a try. There was another early one called Front Mission: Gun Hazard. But it was a side-scroller. Not a lot to the game.

its a 2d port of a snes game, what you expect. what it lacks in graphics (though the graphics kick ass for a old snes game) it makes up in gameplay.

There is a full patched fan translation for Front Mission 5. You'd be able to play it on a modded PS2 or an emulator. Its pretty well done. Just google it.

Wow never even heard of this game, but considering it's from the SNES by Squaresoft it should be a great game, atleast that's what you expect it to be. Also looks a bit like the base for Final Fantasy tactics on the GBA, then again same developers :P

I played the SNES version first, and it's a solid strategy RPG. But the DS version has two story modes in it, where as the SNES only had one. The gameplay is the same between them.

The DS version has more content, like a side story where you play as the other side of the conflict, and a more accurate translation compared to the SNES fan translation.

Dissapointingly so, there will be no more Front Mission games. It has been announced reciently that the entire Intelectual property line would be discontinued on the release of the last manga in the series.
