IMO that first X360 design was more sexy and beautiful than the current one..

The original 360 did not have an HDMI output unfortunately.

I played all my multiplats on the 360, because for a long time most ports for the ps3 versions were just awful in terms of frame rate compared to the 360 versions. eventually developers finally caught up and found out how to work with the PS3's CPU and made it more plausable to play mluti plats on ps3.

You know if you install games to the hard drive the disc wont have to actually spin while playing, which will keep the console from making so much noise.

I was playing my Dad's Xbox 360 E Last Sunday and I was using it to play some of my Original Xbox Games on there (Via Backwards Compatible) and I was playing it for Hours and I had this Feeling in my Head saying "I Miss playing the Xbox 360 since my Original Xbox 360 Elite Broke Down November 2013 and I haven't played it in so long" that Feeling hit me so Hard so my Dad told me when we move he's gonna give me his Xbox 360 E since he's gonna stick with the Xbox One and I was happy that he made that Deal I can't wait to start playing them again Real Soon

I really liked the 360 as it does have a massive amount of games that are relatively cheap now (though many of them are on PS3 or Pc) like the Halo games PGR4, Rez Hd, Ace Combat 6, and hell with the latest update you'll finally be able to use external hard drives, which is also kind of late. Still a great system with plenty of games to play including original Xbox games.

I just couldn't get into the Xbox 360. Initially it had no Bluetooth, no WiFi, no HDMI, expensive proprietary optional HDD, high hardware failure, hid essential features behind a paywall, loud noise, region-locked, scratched discs, games on multiple discs, crappy D-Pad and no built in Recharchable controller. I enjoyed some games on it, but never bought one. It ultimately felt like a cheap product compared to Sony's premium offering.

The Original 360 didn't have HDMI ports, it didn't matter if it was cheaper or not, (as was suggested) But later Microsoft released the Xbox 360 elite (the black one) with a 120gb hdd, and it was the first model to use the Zephyr motherboard, which did have hdmi, and then not long after this was also used in the white pro and core models

I just joined the Xbox 360 fan base this year. LOL almost 10 years late but I love the 360. It is diffidently in my top 10 consoles of all time. I will always be a Wii fanboy, but this is an amazing console non the less. I only chose to join so late because I was afraid of the red rings of death. I only just recently learned that they fixed that lol. Anyways what a great console and it deserves to be in everyone's top 10 for sure.

I went completely pc after the original Xbox,ps2 and my fav console of all time the sega dreamcast so I skipped all the headaches and initial crap games but did give in and buy the original PS3 mint for really cheap not that long ago and I'm glad I did.I don't know why but I just can't muster any love for the 360 or their weak Xbox one.

I bought two of these. both ended in a red ring of death within a year.. never again microsoft, never again.

I'm still using the MW2 edition 360. Thing has been used so much, the disc drive only opens when I smack the top of the front part. Other than that, Never red ringed, due to the Jasper motherboard, and reads games with no problems. Every asks why I don't upgrade. Why should I when mine still works fine? Even then, I have a One I can play if it does finally quit working.

I think that the Xbox was actually one of my favorite consoles for a long time.

Xbox360 has many great games but the hardware was terrible. I had two xbox360s red ring one arcade and one pro.

I love the way it look's, it's very pretty, the holes in the back, and the slim "Women like curve" design. It's also a chill white, which is kinda different. Love how it's Edgy, futuristic, and not simplistic.

Great times with this console. Many hours of DoDonPachi, Eschatos and other fantastic arcade games.Holy fuck it has been 10 years. That thing came out when I was in 5th grade. Goddamn.

My disc tray on my 360 has been stuck for 2 years so for the past 2 years I've had to use a spoon to open my disc tray every time xD

My Xbox 360 has a woodgrain front panel (yay!!), but it also has 3 red lights on the front button.. awww :( ) So do reballed Xbox 360's tend to work well after that or are they destined to fail again? I'd really like to get mine working again some day. Anyone have any advice on where a reasonably priced place can do this for me?

People who bash the Xbox 360 for its quality and ring of death are just haters. Over the last 8 years I bought 3 Xbox 360 systems, one after the other, and I am on my way to my 4th. .... lol

I've always enjoyed my 360. The first one I got (early 2006) did RROD in 2008, but MS sent me a free replacement. My current one I've had since 2010 (the replacement was playing fine, but I wasn't tempting fate with a 2008 console), and it has had nary a problem (the RROD I understand hasn't been a problem in some years). I bought my PS3 in 2011, but to be honest, I haven't played that nearly as much....I did appreciate the ability to upgrade the 160GB drive to a 500GB one using an off the shelf SATA drive. MS should have taken note of that IMO. Not that Sony never uses proprietary equipment (coughVITAmemcardscough), but then, I'd rather there not be any proprietary equipment of that sort, no matter who's doing it. But yeah, the 360 certainly is one of my favorite consoles (though I lean towards my DC and SNES more).

The 360 definitely won the console war, though both the PS3 and the Wii are classics with the 360.

Such a good console. I will remember it fondly. Hard to go back though when you purchase a console from this generation. I want to play games like Dragon's Dogma as I missed out on it at the time, but I'd rather just keep playing my PS4. If only we lived in a world of backwards compatibility. Maybe I would have purchased an Xbox One.

I got the matt black Xbox 360 Elite with the jasper board, so it won't RRoD. I think the jasper board is the first one they completely fixed it on

The older white 360 i'd probably give a 2/10 and the newer slim models i'd maybe give 8/10. The old models broke down way way way too soon and they was very loud. It didn't have a built in HDD which held the 360 back and Neither have a Bluray drive. It was very powerful for the time and has a great games and early on games were better on 360 than early PS3 games but later PS3 games are better than later 360 games.

Ah the original white 360 that pooped on me after I bought it 5 months after and gave it to a friend back in 2008...3 years later I bought the slim version and works find to this day. Also wired 360 controllers are WAY better than wireless because I still use my old white wired controller that still works while I went through 3 wireless controllers that just breaks down after a year of use.

Technically i found the xbox360 connect amezing, sunce it has to analize & interpret your body and enviroment to convert it into input signals for those supported games,concidering, it uses a microphone,camera,thermal infrared and infrared camera, to do all these maigcs.

I thought I knew all the Xbox 360 model revisions & HDD capacities, 20gb, 60gb & 120gb. But I see you have a 250gb HDD! Did you know there is a non HD Xbox 360? I don't think I've ever seen a "black" Sega Dreamcast!🧐 Kinect Adventures was the only game which took full advantage of the Kinect hardware, all the other Kinect games were dog shite in comparison.

I just got a dreamcast copy of shenmue 1 last week. Super excited to start playing it. Found it in a thrift shop and brought it up to the counter. The woman looked at it and said "CD's are a dollar" so I paid her and went on my way. Good score.

Here's a question for people: if you're interested in collecting some of the digital titles for the 360, then how many years do you think it will be before Microsoft discontinues digital content support for the 360? I ask, because I've been considering getting another 360 eventually when I have the money (it wasn't a bad console, even if I utterly despise Microsoft's sad, pathetic excuses for controllers) but about the only exclusives I really care about on the thing are Forza and Banjo Kazooie, and if I want to take full advantage of either, then I'd need some stuff from the download market (like the first two BK games and race tracks.) So... if I were to wait 'til, say, 2018 to get a 360 again, how likely is it I'd have at least, oh, a year, to purchase all the digital content I wanted for the thing?

Not as good as Dreamcast (NEVER!!!!) or Atari 2600, but 360 is still one of my favourite console. A really nice one, hands down better than PS3 imo (and yeah I have both, and I'm not a fanboy, so plz sonyfanboy dont rage on me).

Damn, this makes me want another 360. My 360 of 5 years just died, it was given to me not working, I fixed it, then modified the cooling system as I did with every 360 I touched. Then again maybe I'll just fix it 2nd time, see if I can get another 5 years out of it (probably not).

I hate it where I live, we're such cheapskates we actually still value this console quite a lot. Prices are comparable to what a new PS4 costs in US.

I love the 360 game pad, but PS3 has it beat in every other way. I gotta have my LittleBigPlanet, flower, & Beyond. I honestly didn't like even a single 360 exclusive.

I'm glad Mark like the 360 and apparently didn't have any hardware troubles which was really common with the console but having owned one since 2006 I'm a little less impressed. I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone honestly.

this is what i hate about xbox you need batteries for the controller or you could just buy the play and charge kit but on playstation you dont need batteries every 2 minutes as the controller has been rechargable since ps3

To be fair, Kinect Sports and Adventures aren't that bad. Playing with multiple people is quite entertaining, and at times exhausting. The Kincectsensor isnt that precise, but it is enough to handle a few fun games(Gunslinger too)...most if not all of the other games for Kincect are pretty sh*t.

One thing I never liked was no wireless internet connection for the model that Mark has in this video. I believe all the ps3 models including the original fat one had wireless connection.

The noise from the speakers at the end sounds like it could be from Jeff Minters 1983 classic 'Attack of the Mutant Camels' on the Commodore 64.

The reason I think the kinect failed wasn't because of peoples dislike of motion controls since ps move and wii did fine. But more to do with you not feeling as much in control because of lack of a physical controller. We just didn't have the tech back then to have accurate controls that way. Which is why even now with the kinect 2.0 which is leagues better no one will buy it, because it left a bad taste after its predecessor was released way to early.

Was a good system. Choice for online fighting games for its time 2:1 over PS3. Not anymore though unless ur SF4 only. dope indies too like streets of fury

Clean the dust out of the console using canned air or even better, an air compressor. This will allow your console to breath more and reduce the cooling fan noise. I just did this a week ago to my 360, and it worked great.

Well, this review seems to be a retrospective outlook on the Xbox 360, rather than a first timer, because it's been years since he first compared the NES to it.

I remember my brother was such a huge dick to me he would only let me play his 360 on sunday mornings until noon when he returned from work so I scarified my chance to wake up late and got up at 6 am when he left and played all the way till noon awesome memories to be honest.

out of all the disc based systems it's my favourite, out of all consoles ever made it's no Sega Megadrive but you never stop loving your first :D
