Still to this day that was the best goal I've ever seen in person. There's definitely been better goals scored, and some say it was lucky, and they may be right. But to a 9 year old boy, that was the goal of my childhood. Can still remember the place exploding and the ground shaking, the noise was unreal. Best days of my life as a kid going there. Wish we could be back to this again 🔴⚪🔴⚪
Gave my season ticket to my uncle for this game. He was terminally ill & I had many happy memories of going to games with him & dad. He absolutely loved it, said it was one of the best games he’d ever seen & talked about it for weeks. I would have loved to see this, but so happy he did. G’night Uncle Joe x
This is still my 2nd favourate game I ever saw live in person. I remember thinking I'd be happy with a draw before the game. Then to be 4 - 0 up by half time was unbelievable. Don't forget we were palying against a defence that included Desailly and LeBeuf (sorry I know I've spelt those wrong but I'm too lazy to Google them). The only game I witnessed live that topped this one was the 98 playoff final at Wembley. I know the end result was heartbreaking, but the emotions, tension, excitement and crushing disappointment were unlike anything else I've ever experienced watching football.
Stormy 7 not really. Became obvious it wasn’t going to happen when it started taking unreasonably long, you on the other hand are comically argumentative because of how amazingly shit you are, and getting worse every week. So reply again when you’re in the prem mate
It always puts a smile on my face to re visit this game ...The football from Sunderland is fluent , confident and passionate ! Sorry to say lads but i don't think we will ever get the partnership and heart for the badge and club like what we had with phillips & Quinn breaks my heart ! 😔
Phillips was something else man! It's a shame England had their own click and would not give him a chance and then not pass to him when they did. Smdh.
@@tomstev2745 tbh he'd still be better than them by a mile.. I came here after the Coventry game to cheer myself up (Or torture myself).will we ever find a couple of strikers like these two again? I'd be happy with just 1 right now!
Rusty Mackem yep like the last good striker we had was Defoe or Graban yep both have moved on because of relegation Sunderland AFC is at its worst never seen football so shit in all my life like every game I been to in the past 2 years I only seen draws and losses and the only reason why I only been to around 10 games is because I live in London I just feel like we need a miracle
