I just made this for a couple of 90-year-olds. Followed the recipe precisely. Looked and smelled great and they raved about it. Against my better judgement I tried a tiny piece and it was just as repulsive as I remember it when I was a kid, 50 years ago. This recipe is definitely a generational thing, at least among Americans of a certain age and background.

Is liver supposed to be a bit metallic or earthy in taste? Or does it really need to soak in milk, or other marinades, for the harsh flavors to mellow-out a bit?

Try it with middle eastern spices like cumin dried coriander a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg with some chopped jalapeno @@100acrewoodsbythereich

I listen to my body: when I crave liver I know I need iron. And when my iron is low, it tastes wonderful!

Liver and onions is my second favorite meal, second only to broiled lobster tails in drawn butter. I use calves liver as it has a bit of a milder flavor. If I cook beef liver, I’ll soak it in milk for an hour before cooking. I smother the liver in onions and gravy. Wonderful!

Cook for 5 minutes each side!!!!! 2 minutes per side and even then it is getting very close shoe leather
