Both cars are an absolute credit to you Matt, they both look awesome! I must admit I was a bit worried when you fired up the mini and the engine sounded like a bag of nails!!🤔😦🤔🧐 but was reassured when you said it was ok. 👏👏👍😅🤣😊 can’t wait for the next video!
I miss the clattering sound of the straight cut drop gears! And the sound of a single dcoe on a 5 port 'head! Brings back many happy memories of my late teens/early 20s!! Absolutely love it, Matt. Top job as per usual!! I'm putting off the wiring on the Viva as it scares the crap out of me 😂 Cheers. Leigh.
The old Mushy Pea Mongrel is a proper looker ... Mini coming along great . I'm in the Raffle, might grab some more tickets and up my chances ... Keep up the good work ...
Sir, you have come a long way, since the Miata conversion. Remember when the plasma table came in, changed your shop immediately. This little racer looks great as well.
Awesome 👍🏽 great to see both car's and you getting to race them , yes it's hard on RU-vid as well as another person I follow dosn't have the follower's he needs to do it full time so has to do other things now to get by and do small RU-vid channel, and there's so many fake chanles calming that they make alot of money or some lie as to what happened to them so annoying so I don't look at those or just go straight to the comment's to see , anyway keep going love seeing your projects plus the online welding course is a great idea 👍🏽
You might want to consider using a Cartek XR instead of the mechanical FIA isolator switch. It isolates the ground instead of the 12V and is generally a safer way to kill the electrics. If you run an ECU then it can have a kill wire directly to that and it will kill the power to the ECU a fraction before the rest, which can also save the ECU
Still following you're channel. have done from the first video, keep em coming Matt. I can't help wondering about all the rattling noise from the engine area? Can I suggest you consider the flywheel and clutch setup might need checking. I've never heard a Mini even with straight cut gears as loud as that. Just my 2c worth. have a great day on the track.
I was concerned aswell but thought it must be gearbox noise when clutch hydraulics are fitted all the noise should go regarding runs when isolayer switched of try pulling alternator plug see if that kills engine, lovely tidy job through out as usual.
I'd join the raffle, but I don't think you wanna post something that heavy abroad? Maybe do another one with that awesome welding helmet you are using?
Are you back feeding from alternator? I fitted isolator on battery and forgot the alternator would keep everything on.....took a while to work out how to cut power from alternator.
Think thats how it is on heavy equipment......got a feeling motorsport regs make you do live......also did not know about that resistor as one i bought did not have one.....always best to research these things as would have saved me lots of head scratching 😂😂
Is it the alternator feeding ignition etc when isolator is off ? Maybe need to connect alternator output directly to battery so it is isolated fromm system at same time as battery.
