This was when adds were adds. Now it's funerals, life insurance. Sunlife shoved down your throat seven days a week. Every add comes on is these adds and still they come through the post.

Peter Bowles for Carling Black Label, Barry Took with the Vauxhall Chevette, and Rodney Bewes for Ross Bubble & Squeak. Gotta be 1980-82 with the original ITN news jingle as well, and John Suchet.

Surely that was James Bolam in the Ross bubble and squeak advert.

@@davidbarry4227 James Bolam was actually the voice over. Rodney appeared on set. I might well have known there was a Likely Lads connection somewhere in there.

2:11 My first car is the very same as the advert including the colour, regatta blue. Chevette ES is a very basic model, no rear heated window, no intermittent wipers, horrible black bumpers instead of chrome, vinyl seats & no hazard warning lights. But mine did have a driver's side door mirror and a rear fog light.
