Volume two is out here : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zodw6HbsBFA.html and contains some of them. Volume III is in the works but can't guarantee what's in the final cut, like volume II some shows are being forced to be chopped out due to restrictions and country blocking by youtube and the shows original creators! I do not monetize, I am just trying to have fun but some make that hard on us!
Space:1999 (Year 1) Iconic - incomparable. Music, set designs, production values, storylines... While it had imperfections as everyone one of the listed productions did as well, it remains Unique - thought-provoking to this day. Thank you to all who helped create it.
God I loved these shows growing, 6 Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman were great too. Also Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Land of the Giants.
Loved the ship, hated the windows. Also the windows on the TOS shuttlecraft Galileo and the DS9 runabouts. Completely impractical for actually flying a ship.
The show that is still going today, as you put it, is not Dr Who. It is truly sad to see this once great show decend into a load of polliticaly correct drivel.
@@DavidSmith-fs5qj I totally agree. Even during Capaldi's tenure, you could see it coming. No child needs to see a woman going "I'm a lesbian" in every single episode.
Whomever you are, a BIG Heartfelt thank you for this compilation. It was emotional. I've just relived my childhood in 15 minutes. The memories of long lost but not forgotten people's in my life whom I shared my tea time TV moments with. Thank you again.
@@VickiCampbell-1216 Good afternoon Vicki. Are you responsible for this fabulous emotional road trip down TV memory lane? If so, thank you so much. I found your channel, Vicki Campbell, interesting. The music you have compiled into videos of our Galaxy are amazing and beautiful. I play an online game called "Elite" which I have played for 36yrs because it's a safe non violent family space life simulator. However, it is now called, "Elite Dangerous: Horizons", furthermore it's next chapter very soon will become, "Elite Dangerous: Odyssey", we get space legs and for the first time in Elite history, very sadly we also get humanoid combat which means violence and blood gore turning Elite into a certificated non family game. Unfortunately, I am loyal to this game so I will be purchasing this blood fest because the next chapter Odyssey also comes with more finished star systems. It's the finished star systems incorporated that are of interest to me. So what is Elite? Elite is a game made by Frontier but was created originally in the late 1970's alongside NASA, English, Japanese and other space agencies around the world to give us humans the chance to live our dream of a life in space. In 1984, Elite was released, I was 12 and thanks to Star Wars giving me that dream of living in space, I became a space trucker alongside a space real time market trader. Elite is a 1:1 scale replication of our Galaxy, made with the help of real space agencies, scientists and a REAL 24 hour clock. In a time when home computer's were just seeing the light of day in our living rooms for the 1st time in history, Elite gave those who cared to dream, a game simulation of living a life in space that was safe and everyone could pick up and play. Today, Elite is incredibly beautiful. The Frontier Development Team have really created an open world, sorry, in this case, open Galaxy that has so much authenticity and real beauty, it just brings tears of shear overwhelming emotion. If the scientists and space agencies have found it, it appears in our Galaxy via Elites Galaxy. They've recreated the vastness of space by specific scientific calculations through speed and time. So, a journey to 1 space station in Supercruise could take about 1 minute. However, another journey, say, to Colonia near the center of the Galaxy could easily take at least 5 hours, that's a genuine 5hrs, of jump time in hyperspace alone plus another 10 minutes from the the last jump point. I personally never get bored of the traveling times. You want to explore the Galaxy, there's a scientific work placement for players to become system mappers. Build a specific scientific space vessel and start mapping the planets and systems... There's only Billions upon Billions of systems to map. You'll be dead before you'll even see 1% mapped of the Galaxy but find a new system, you get to name this system you found for real. Yes I've gone on & on about this game, simulator but this is the true emotion you struck my heart through your sharing. It is so rare to find another genuine caring human in today's world and it just felt great to have this incredibly brief written encounter with you. The other reason you touched my heart, I lost my Father a couple of months ago and he was the last of my living family. I've just spent the 1st Christmas in my entire life, alone and your videos helped me along with Elite. I've never felt so alone but Elite and your channel music space content made me feel like a child again and reminded me of my childhood dream, the great times I had with my Mother n Father, Brother n Sister and of course, my own late family I lost 14 years ago. I try not to feel sorry for myself because there's always someone out in the world who have experienced the same but perhaps in much worse circumstances. Your kindness of sharing helped me more than you realize. Though you may think this strange and odd, you helped to save a life this Christmas. My life. Thank you. Stay safe and may I wish you all the best for now and the future.
@@leviathanskiss8720 So many kind words, but I cannot say that I was the creator of this video. I wish I was. I am a life long science fiction/fact enthusiast and that was quite interesting reading the information you shared regarding your gaming adventures. It's wonderful to be 'mentally removed' from the mundane reality we reside in, through these simulated realities. I grew up in a science minded family. Grandfather was a chemical engineer, my mother volunteered through NASA, my best friend worked for NASA and my brother was a science teacher. I'm the humble observer in my family. I recently lost my mother in November. I can relate to your hardships. Thank you for your kind words, your shared interests, and I am so sorry that I was not the creator of this wonderful compilation of old sci fi TV programs. I grew up with them as well and I am still enamored by it all. Stay safe as well and find joy in all of life. All the best to you!
I agree-temembet almost all of these shows - also remember watching many of the blk.n white Dr Who shows(macra terror , wheel in space, etc) great days
I went to high school with Jeff Yaegher who later played Kyle in V. In 1978 we were both in our school drama club, and I had a huge but sadly unrequited crush on him!
TREK..DISCOVERY IS TOO GLITZY...kinda like a Sci Fi Dynasty...yuk no true lineage, continuity to STAR TREK. tho they try,tried...& Michele Yeoh...! yum !
Gerry and Sylvia Anderson were always working on some sci-fi pitch or reboot up until their deaths in 2012 and 1216 respectively. As I understand it, Gerry Anderson Jr. continues to pitch these ideas.
Fireball XL5, Thunderbirds, Doctor Who, Outer Limits, Voyage to the Bottom to the Sea, Land of the Giants, The Invaders, The Six Million Dollar Man, Survivors, The Fantastic Journey, Logan's Run, Quark, Blake's 7, Project U.F.O., Salvage 1, Sapphire & Steel, The Secret Empire, and many more. Tune in next video. Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel!
Time Traveler, most of the shows u mention there are amongst my favorite programs of all time, Unfamiliar with quark , Project ufo, Salvage 1 & The Secret empire. Don't think those shows made it across the pond to the uk.
You missed the longest running and by some accounts the most cheesest of all Sci-fi the ran in the '60s, 1964 to 1968's Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea. It wasn't set in space, it was still Sci-fi, thanks for posting, had forgotten many of these.
@@Thurgosh_OG I didn't mean of all time, it was the longest continues run on American television for a very long time it didn't get surpased untill Star Trek The Next Generation started it's 5th continious season, as much as i like Doctor Who (especially the old Doctor Who, the current edition not so much) it was'nt in continues production, there was a large gap between the orginal run and the re-boot.
I remember most of these shows. I saw re run of the earlier programs as I was born 1968. I was about 15 V first came out and it was such a big phenomenon on when I was at school that people were talking about it constantly and couldn’t wait for the next episode we’ve had friends over so we could have like a V night loved it absolutely loved it even now I watch it if it’s on but I love my sci-fi right from the beginning. 💖🐩🐩💖💗🌹👍👍🐾🐾🖖🌟🌛🌜🕊🌈🇬🇧
1:42, if you saw Whit Bissel on screen, time travel was involved (Time Tunnel, Time Machine film). Even if it had to wait 30 for a revamp (DS9 Time and Tibble-ations).
I saw all of these EXCEPT for Star Lost. How did I miss that? Must have blinked. There was also a show called The Phoenix '81-'82 with Judson Scott that caught my attention for a bit.
Great t.v great moments with not great but normal kids and adults which added to the magic because only in t.v do you get magic but for us mere mortals we were just along for the ride but what a ride it was didnt know where we were going but those doing the driving got us there,in,out and now back again only this time were not leaving were here to stay this time around because now we get it finally.
That First Episode Dr. Smith: Setting him up as a true Villain, until an attempt to catch up to 'Batman' turned the show to High Camp.....enjoyable, but I would have liked to see what would have happened if they stuck to their original plans for him.
So many great memories: The historical encounters in Time Tunnel, the very stylish UFO, Roddy McDowell recreating his Planet of the Apes role, the good effects in Space 1999 and Galactica 1980 and the most frightening 'V', but the greatest will always be STAR TREK.
I think had Jonathan Harris not persuaded the writers and directors of Lost in SPace to make him the focus of the show; which encouraged the more humorous and cornie episodes; Lost in Space could have retained its more serious undertones and made for a series both children and adults could enjoy. Even as a kid, I prefered the way the first season was done.
I have watch many of these, but many of them I didn’t even know until I saw them on RU-vid. There are many that were made before I was born (‘71), but watched them as reruns. A have few on dvds and found some by accident in a few stores.
I remember watching some episodes of it. It came and went very quickly. Agreed about the concept, and it would do well with a reboot today. Just make sure Ron Moore (of ST:TNG and BSG fame) is Exec. Producer on it. He would make sure it is good. There was a psuedo remake with 'Ark' in 2009, it starred Renee O'Connor (Gabrielle) of Xena: Warrior Princess fame.
It was a fabulous idea and preteen me loved it but the execution of the concept sucked. Trust me! Yes I would love to see a reboot by people who tried to science it out more.
Starlost. there's a Movie to be turned back into a TV series with a Toy Line and VR RPGs Ark 2 would be a very up to date remake, I always wanted to live in the Ark.
The Starlost. Thank you. I've been trying to remember what show had that big spaceship with all the domes for over a decade. Those clips looked terrible though. I thought it was from Space 1999 but could never make the connection, and now I now why.
Also a movie, believe the name was Silent Running or Run Silent or some such. Each dome was a biosphere from distinct parts of Earth, being preserved against the total sterilizing of the plant during the coming war. But the mother ship was ordered back to Earth and jettisons the biospheres. One crewman stays aboard one of the biospheres and fights to keep it alive.
Six million dollar man and Bionic woman , should definitely have been in this list !! Still, thanks for the great compilation of classic sci Fi movies and tv !!
And Balok was a prop in the screenplay. The 70s US TV was uber cheap on camerawork and post production work. It was like a color version of the late 50s till 1964. The sweeping camerawork of westerns was almost gone, and many shows had degraded to a "Honeymooners" or "Ozzie and Harriet" style situation soap opera stage sets (All in the Family, Sanford and Son, Maude, etc).
Planet of the Apes tv series could have been better and lasted several seasons with better writing and story ideas Still cool for a single digit kid at the time. Dr Zaius for the win
Maybe not that well known outside the german speaking zones, but yeah that one was great. +I still have the title music in my head as if i woulve watched it yesterday
Don't Forget the awesome Terry Nation series. Like Dr. Who (still running to this day), Blake's 7 etc. Btw, my favourite Doctor will always be Tom Baker. 😎 Oh and the series Tripods. I think it ran for 2, or even maybe 3 seasons.
@@lorrainesheridan496 I remember it stopped by basically everyone being caught or killed. After they had left the period in the tripods city. They were back out in the hills at some camp site or something like that. It's been a while since I watched it though.
Always had a thing for June Lockhart. While the hardware and set design of the ship was cool and realistic, too bad the stories and dialog were written for 5yo's most of the time on Lost in Space
Even as a 12 yr kid I couldn’t stand Dr Smith from Lost in Space. I couldn’t except anyone would have ANYTHING to,do with him after what he did and the way he acted toward them....
That "Galactica 1980" clip of the Cylons attacking Los Angeles looks like footage shot for Irwin Allen's film "Earthquake," with spaceships added in post.
Irwin Allen didn't produce Earthquake. He produced The Towering Inferno. Both films were in cinemas at the same time (1974). It is footage from Earthquake, though. Both Earthquake and Galactica were produced by Universal Studios.
@@stewartlynch7859 From IMDb: Produced by Jennings Lang, Mark Robson, and Bernard Donnenfeld (uncredited), and directed by Mark Robson. Yeah... I should have looked it up before commenting.
Excellent. Although I was surprised that since you included Saturday morning fare Ark II and Space Academy, that you didn't include Land Of The Lost which had about three times the amount of episodes of either of those shows, and much better written.
I loved the original Battlestar Galactica when it first came out. ever saw the reboot. But now I find its initial premise too hard to swallow: Surely a civilization smart enough to figure out FTL travel, that has been at war with the same enemy for so many decades, would then be stupid enough to leave al its home planets undefended like that.
