Because pricing changes, I will not answer questions about how much I paid for my belts. For pricing, please contact Classic Shields directly on Facebook, or at classic.pak@gmail.com
I got my winged eagle from Classic Shields a week ago and it’s amazing. The plates were cut with skill and precision and the leather work was excellent. There was a guy on these forums calling himself “Naitch” saying the plates are a butcher job, he shouldn’t comment unless he sees one in person.
Man I sure hope mines doesn’t take much longer. Purchased in April!!! I agree 1000%man. Communication could improve, and ETA could be a bit more accurate. Hope it comes before Christmas 🎄 🤞🏾
I put the down payment down today for both those belts! So they sent you a relief crown? How’d you affix it? Also they’re sending me 2 name plates, how do you attach them? Are there screws in the back?
I just superglued the crown. There may have been a better way to go about it, but it worked just fine. You likely won't need one, I'm pretty sure they're making all the crowns with the silver spade and squares now. As for the nameplate, my guess is that since you requested two, that they'll be attached with double sided tape, but I can't be sure. Mine WAS permanent, it was attached with screws but the backing covered the screws. I replaced it recently because the gold coverage wasn't very good on the original. It required me cutting small holes in the backing, removing the old nameplate, covering the holes with small screws and washers, and attaching the new nameplate with double sided tape. It sounds awful, but it looks like a million bucks. You'd have to ask them how you'll be able to switch out the nameplates when you want to, I'm actually kind of curious now that you mention it.
I think classic shields makes a slightly enhanced version of the original Crumrine big gold belt. I love the original Crumrine but there are certain things about the classic shields version that seem s bit more pronounced than that of the original.
Hey Grant, I was just wondering what kind of marker you used for the autographs on your belts? Do oil based paint markers yield the best results? What is the pink marker you used for Bret’s autograph? Thanks!
The pink is a sharpie brand oil based paint pen, it worked great. The others are just metallic sharpie marker. The regular sharpies don’t show up, but the metallic ones work great.
My only gripe is the WORLD relief plate. I just don't like that sticking up, but its so beautiful. You have 2 beautiful titles there. What happens to them in the future? (If you pass away, or something?)
I love the relief world banner. They actually completed the plates without the relief piece, and when they sent me pics of it and I asked about it they said “Is that necessary?” and I said “Absolutely.” I just think it makes it look even more ornamental. Your question is a strange one, haha... If I die, I suppose I’d leave them to my dad if he’s still alive. If not, I’d probably just leave them to my wife so she can sell them. They have a ton of signatures on the back.
Good ;-) There are a couple of tiny spots where the gold didn’t cover the silver on the main plate, a couple of small discolored spots on the sideplates and tip, and a small spot on the edge of the strap that’s a little misshaped. None of it is obvious, so I was happy to take the discount instead of waiting for a perfect one.
@@donnylovedbowling You would have been waiting a long time. Not even Reggie Parks (especially at this stage of the game) understandably so, makes a “perfect” winged eagle anymore. Do you have SD or HD hand crafted plates on your winged eagle?
@@donnylovedbowling, thanks for letting me know. On the 2015 spinner replica the champ & Eagle banners sit above the main plate on little posts & I hate it. I'm toying with the idea of cutting the posts off & somehow securing the banners directly to the main plate. I'm trying to figure out how belt makers secure relief pieces to the plates. Ie, is it some kind of welding process, or maybe some kind of chemical adhesive process.
Hey Grant, I’m looking to purchase a winged eagle from these guys. I noticed the word “world” juts out on yours as a relief piece, is that accurate to the real thing? Thanks!
There were many different versions of this belt over the years. Some of them had the relief world banner, some of them had it etched directly into the plate. If you don’t specify, they will etch it into the plate. It’s just a personal preference thing.
I do prefer the relief piece, it just looks more ornamental to me. And it took about a year for me to get my belt, but you probably shouldn’t go by that, I think it was an unusual circumstance for them. A buddy of mine ordered his a couple of months ago and they’re almost done with it. So who knows.
Can you request the silver spade and the squares to begin with when you order? Also I don’t see the winged eagle on their site, how much does it cost? I wonder if they offer an all gold winged eagle? Thanks, Mark.
They actually do them like that every time now, since it was pointed out. And don’t go by their website, it’s really out of date. Look them up on Facebook, they post pics all the time. And yes, they make a fantastic all-gold winged eagle, in fact they just posted pics of a new one recently.
Wanted to know what classic shields use to make their big gold.. and also way is the makers of Crumrine a 5 year wait but Classic shields is only 4 to 6 months?
I’m not sure I follow your question. I don’t think Crumrine would even make one of these anymore. They’ve only made two ever. The original, and one for a guy named Teddy Srour. Dave Millican made a cast of that second belt, which he uses to produce his, and the wait time for that one is probably several years because he’s Dave Millican, he’s the best. Does that answer your question?
Yes that answers the 2nd part. A cast huh? I was asking is the Classic shields made out of REAL gold or is it gold plated over zinc... I ask cause I saw another Guy saying his classic shields big gold was a REAL gold Ric Flair version.
@@donnylovedbowling thanks you've been very helpful. I placed an order for one. I was just a little scared sending my money all the way out there not seeing one up close
I honestly don’t remember, they gave me a discount but i don’t remember how much it was. I could probably find it in my messages, but i wanna day I got it for like 550 or something like that.
It's not the level of Romeo Anderson or other greats, but I think it's still really good. I'm thrilled with my big gold's strap in particular. If you have the time and patience, I'd recommend going with a leather specialist, but if you don't want to mess with it, then I think you'd be very happy with a Classic Shields strap.
@@donnylovedbowling thank you. I'm in the UK and a Paul Martin strap for a block logo big gold is mega expensive. Their plates look amazing with their new hd etching so I'd hate for the strap to let the team down lol
