I grew up listening to bluegrass. My dad and his band sang these songs. Jim Delk and the Glenoby Boys from Fentress County Jamestown TN

That’s as blue as bluegrass can be! I loved that band, and all of Ralph’s bands! Saw Curly Ray many times, always a pleasant guy off stage and such a “force” onstage! Thanks for posting this one

This was taken from recordings spanning several years. It includes Keith Whitley singing with Ricky Skaggs circa 70-71 as well as Keith when he was lead singer with Ralph (May, 1974 - November, 1977). I’ll Just Go Away” and “Stone Walls and Steel Bars” were recorded at Ralph’s Memorial Day festival in 1975. Roy Lee sings lead on only three cuts here if I’m not mistaken: “Going Up Home To Live In Green Pastures,” “The Kitten and the Cat,” and “Love Me Darling Just Tonight.” As we know Roy Lee was killed in May, 1974 and was replaced by Keith who had left Ralph’s band about three years prior.

Roy Lee is the finest lead vocalist ever recorded. He tops Carter. It’s not even close or even debatable.
