My dad’s name was Buddy Carty. He passed over two years ago. He wrote song number 3, “Sometimes I Sing” and Mr. Stanley heard it at an Old Regular Baptist church. Dad played bluegrass music as a young man, before becoming a minister in a church that only sang a cappella songs. He loved that type of worship, as did our family, but as his youngest son, I have to admit that I always wondered what his musical career could have been. He was a very gifted singer and song writer. Not surprisingly, our whole family was honored that a bluegrass singer as successful as Ralph Stanley, would appreciate one of his songs enough to record it. Thank you so much for posting this. I hadn’t heard it since I was a child and it meant so much to me to hear it once more.
