Some very cool boats there , years ago a friend of mine had a Hacker Triple cockpit and took me for a ride , it was the first time I hade been around a boat like that . They are just amazing. Thanks for the video
I remember the boat races in Homewood in 1973. My family lived there from 1975 to 1999 in Chambers Landing and I loved the old Chris Craft boats at Obexers and the Homewood Marina. Used to always get a sandwich at the old Obexers Market before a day of boating. I miss Lake Tahoe so much. I wish we still had our family home. I have traveled the world for work and I still think Lake Tahoe is my favorite spot on this planet. Thanks for the footage.
Loved this footage! My uncle, Mike Steffen used to race mahogany, wood boats nationally and internationally in the 40's and 50's. The sound of those engines and those hulls glistening in the sunshine brings back wonderful memories.
In the Petaluma ski club; sitting on the gunwales when underway was a major no no. Years ago a guy fell out and there x was a runaway boat. Even if you weren't driving you could get run over by your own boat.
Wooden boats rides better than fiberglass or micro fiber ~ got weight to hold it down ~ WHAT A GREAT IDEAL ~ ELECTRIC BOATS! I would own one or build one 👍
My family had a Chris Craft runabout built in 1950. It was 18-19’ long and featured the forward passenger area, then the engine compartment enclosed by 2 doors that lifted up and out from the center, then the rear passenger compartment. Does anyone know the model # or model name? Thanks
Hi Steven, We are interested in using a clip of this video for our show, Blue Collar Auction. Would it be possible to use your video? Please let me know!
@@bluecollarauction9692 I just tried, but when I clicked on the B by your Blue Collar Auctions, it said "This channel doesn't have any video content". I tried to get it on all 5 of the categories and got the same response.
Good observation. These are all privately owned boats and the tradition is that the boat flys the flag of the owner and the country the owner lives in. So being that this show is in Lake Tahoe Nevada, the boats all originate from USA and fly American flags. At a boat show where new boats are for sale, they may have flags from their country of origin of manufacture.
I think she is a raceboat with a lot of historic pedigree : I think that´s the reason for winnig that Concours . I never want to be the Judge for that Competition because I never saw so many nice wooden boats in one place before
