Used to play Enh shaman since, roughly, patch 1.8. Was considering playing again in classic but honestly was discouraged by all the naysayers and people putting down Enh as a meme spec. I can't even begin to explain what a breath of fresh air your videos are! Suffice to say that I just rolled a fresh Orc shaman thanks to your content. Thank you and may the Elements guide you
Best enhacement shaman guide for classic WoW period. Why have I stumbled on it just now? I lost my laptop just at the start of classic and I'm still waiting for the new one to come in the mail. I've had around 9 months to think over what class to play in classic and I coming back to the idea of the enhancement shaman again. With this guide I really might settle for a shaman.
@@Holderhek Hey btw. I've been looking for info on TBC Shaman. What's your opinion on Dragonstrike. Is it worth it at the end all the effort to grow BS just for this craft...and maybe a stormherald for pvp?
I would rather wear a ball gag and a leather G-String, than Totem Twist. Please tell me that Classic is no longer hard, and after all these years we can actually raid and play.
you probably dont care but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the account password. I would love any assistance you can give me
I played WoW since closed beta and on release until about 2008 as well. I hit HWL on my Shammy and Grand Marshal on my Paladin. Enhancement is the best spec for vanilla/classic.
Hi, thanks for the insight, last time out I was an alliance druid, this time I am going shaman, lots of people have been poo pooing enhance shaman builds, glad to see some actual well formulated data showing their use end game in PVE. I will certainly be going enchantment end game after seeing this. They look great in PVP too.
Carl McClatchie basically if you’re not playing a fury warrior people are gonna get mad that you exist as melee. Have them eat your debuff slot and go about your day.
Love your cadence, your witty humor, and it seems you ACTUALLY know what you're talking about. For all this, I thank you :) Looking forward to your videos.
I have my first Enhancement Shaman (lvl 46), and my friend told me that after Lvl 60, I would become a 'Resto Shaman'. Now I can prove him wrong. Thanks, man, awesome content!
Your video is making me want to play again, and to give Enhancement a try. I was a Demonology Warlock back in vanilla (and managed to do much better than your parses show, tyvm), but I think I would like to try something new.
Yo holder, love the videos, but have one question. I play all 3 specs on Herod, horde side. Just got more into enhancement. I can't find a straight answer for something so basic: Does 1 Str = 2 AP? I've read its been changed to 1Str = 1 AP, but no one says when. Thank you.
Great video. I would like to know if you have key binding / macro videos? Id also like to know what mouse you use, kbd too, not that its a big deal, but my main question is how do you setup spell/totem/pots/etc so they are accessible when needed. In pvp where each class, for the most part, we need different spell/totem/pots/etc c, so how is your hardware setup to be able to access everything you have as quick as possible? I know most people are not mouse clicking on half of the abilities, at least not high end. Im still lvling so once I get to 60 ill have a better setup but just wondering. Thanks and keep up the great work! Regards, Viscerator Faerlina sham
I use a logitech g600 mmo mouse and have a lot of things bound to it and shift+mouse. I could do a video about that for sure. I have something like 39 binds.
@@Holderhek Nice thanks, I have an antique 2 button mouse FTloss, doesnt even have a scroll wheel, heh, but Im just trying to get a good layout for each pvp and pve obviously making things I need literally 1 click away. I hadn't even thought (or even knew) about the shift w/ mouse, I use it on the kbd. Great Vids I appreciate all you've done here. Keep it up!
Thanks a lot for your videos! I love them a lot. I hope that all these gear stuff (like Drakefang Talisman) are realistic. I know it's theoretical BiS at some point, but is it also something enha shamans absolutely get? I will be going shaman and wish to play enhance in endgame. Also, are there any gold farms for enhance shamans (aside from the regular rune/felcloth etc. world farms)?
Hey!! I really enjoy your video. Thanks for all 😘 Got a question : the hitcap is 9 or 8%? And if it's 8 and I play orc with axe and hit talent I need only 2%? Thanks!
Amaëlle the hitcap is 9% if you’re not an orc or an orc using anything but an axe. Nature’s guidance only gives us 2% hit with 3 points, 1% hit with 2 points and 0% hit with 1 point. You’d want 6% hit from gear as an orc with an axe and 7% for all other situations.
@@Holderhek OK thanks! But on your screen of blue topic they said : gear and talent. So if my talent provide 3%, why I need 7% from the gear? In all that give me 10% and we want 9% with the blue post no? I'm sorry I'm literally a new in enha sham and vanilla
i notice you run 2-handers as opposed to using 2 1-handers... i've had another shaman who ran enhance as a tank say to use 2 1-handers... what is your take on that Holderhek??
Lots of great advice here. I originally considered playing elemental but I think you've convinced me to roll enhancement. I guess the only question I have for you is: How did you ride a raptor as a tauren? I thought they couldn't in classic.... they are just so damn cool.
You can do anything with the power of a private server. In classic you just need to turn in a bunch of runecloth to the appropriate horde cloth quartermaster. The mount I have in this video is the og vanilla epic raptor and it's available in classic sadly BUT you can ride a raptor.
Love how you joined in a month ago and I am so happy you have, couldn't help but to wonder how long you been working on these data sheets and information you point out?
@@Holderhek cool bro well your info hits where it crits and to the point where you action out performances what has been told so I am happy to come accross your sector.
@@Holderhek wondering my friend do you have a video or will be making one on stat priority when looking for gear upgrades. My stat in line will go str-agil-Intel and this is my grind to level 1-60 then after that I will be filling that hit cap gap but other then that I am clueless on what I should prioritize.
For real! I think enhancement shaman get a bad rep in Vanilla because of the general lack of knowledge among the average player, and the scarcity of healers, requiring most classes that could heal to heal. Now that people have theorycrafted, tested, and played with a more comprehensive understanding of the game, it's clear enhancement shaman are competitive as dps.
I know this question is 5 years too late, but what is your DPS rotation and totems? grace of air, str earth, magma for totems? shock and storm strike on cd?
Lot of guides say 6/9% hit if your orc and apparently there's also a crit cap.. please make a video on this, trying to better my dps in raids and need some guidance
Crit cap is astronomical. It's like 52.7% or something. Hit cap is orc with axe is 6%, anything else it's 9%. When I made this video months ago I didn’t have the info we have now.
Frost mages add a debuff that increases the crit chance of frost spells on the target by 10%. What do you think about using Frost Shock instead of Earth Shock for the Elemental Devastation spec?
Inn0c You absolutely would use frost shock in a raid instead of earth shock. The damage bonus you would get from curse of elements would be equitable to the damage bonus earths shock gets from storm strike. Essentially these damage numbers would be interchangeable without you having to spam a high threat ability.
I know you probably have a guild, but on the off chance that you don't, we'd love to recruit you. We're an 18+ competent raiding guild in the EST time zone. We need 3 enhancement shamans for our raid, and so far have none because of all the misinformation about how well they perform in raids.
Cows_n_Muffins I do already have a guild but I fully support your raid comp. How many people do you have so far? We’re looking to run two raids. If you’d like to come talk to us about a possible joint venture into Classic our disc is: www.discord.gg/XBhyUxc
That invite has expired because I was asleep at the time. The raid comp we're going for is this, just append it to the classic wowhead website. raid-composition#0ggypshhFjthhFjthvFmtcddqscddxswyynswyyns
Hello great video! I have questions about stormstrike. Doesnt it block a debuff slot and therefore isnt allowed in raid setting? What talent would you use instead? Nature damage = bad i’ve heard due to high nature resist on early Bosses, frost shock amazing dmg due to curse and icy chill!
William Bruzelius Storm strike is fine. There are about 8 debuffs that NEED to be on the boss. They are: Curse of Shadow Curse of Elements Curse of Recklessness Winter’s Chill (Until AQ) Ignite (Naxx) Sunder Armor Nightfall Faerie Fire Improved Shadow Bolt These are the best for just straight raid damage. From here you cycle in mitigation debuffs; Thunder Clap Demoralizing Shout Curse of Weakness Now you can add in situational debuffs given your raid makeup: Scorch depending on Mage count and raiding tier. Hunter’s Mark / Tier armor reduction. Annihilator Proc (for melee heavy raids) Thunderfury Shadow Priest utilization for 1 or 2 debuffs. Gift of Arthas Arcanite Dragonling (quicker fights with Fire Mage heavy groups) Stormstrike Flame Shock Hemo Corruption And there is consideration for taunts as well, which will overlap. Adjust to your raid / favorite flavor palate. So yes, you can totally use Stormstrike. It’s not going to be an issue.
Do you manage to get raid spots? how hard is to gear enhance over the melee specs? Cause after watching this I am seriously considering playing enhance over rogue. also awesome video loved the sarcastic tone rofl.
I mean rogue/warrior is always gonna have an easier time doing damage/getting a raid spot/getting gear from randoms than enhance. There is too much baggage associated with the spec that even if you pulled double the DPS of anyone in the raid they might not invite you because "lol enhance lol" -- that being said, find some friends to roll with and work as hard as you can and Enhance can absolutely surprise everyone with it's damage potential.
I played enhancement back in the day, but just when I got Nightfall. Until then I was a healer. Switching to melee was fun. So you dont like to use Nightfall? What us your take on that weapon?
Nightfall is a curse and should not be forced on us. It's an offtank or hunter weapon. They have instant attacks we do not have. Their uptime is better.
At what point did you switched from all agi enchants to all AP(force) enchants ? I m a bit confused watching this vid since i always thought PA was to priorise over crit, and you priorise AP in later videos too (mostly with force enchants for all). Can you give me an explanation please ? come on please, i m confused ! Thanks for the videos and defending our cause. (btw the way i made sure to get the fuckin eye is to gather all the fckin materials for sulfuras by myself, since you cant trust people respecting birthrights those days) heart-heart
Seto Guyba it pushes off low priority debuffs like corruption. It’s really not an issue at all unless you’re trying for some sort of speed clear. It’s not an “optimized” debuff but it can be fit in easily.
So regarding Elemental Devastation, is at any time preferable to get spell crit instead of physical crit to get to a certain threshold? (like 12% spell crit or so). Or is it always physical crit all the way even if you have ED?
Dani Castro always physical crit unless the piece has both. ED is a raid talent only really utilized via a mages 10% frost crit buff + dragonslayer + songflower. Otherwise, nature’s guidance is better.
Holderhek for PVP? I agree that Nature’s Guidance is great in general but I think putting all those talents in really crappy resto ones like reduce heal mana etc as enhancement is quite dubious... enh/elemental seems much better, even without ED right
Dani Castro natures guidance is just that good of a talent, as well as reducing totem costs. For PvP talents are a whole different story as stormstrike isn’t great at all and you’d want Natures Swiftness or Elemental Mastery. In my experience anyway.
Just wanted to say, I was just about to watch yet another 'advanced' shaman guide. Less than 5 minutes in I'm told that our jobs as enhancement is to apply the weapon debuffs. That 15% magic damage one............as soon as I saw that I clicked off the vid. Anything after that would literally not matter since they obviously weren't taking the spec seriously as a viable dps. It would appear that we (the ones watching this 'actual' guide), are going to have a lot of fun shocking people who can't think beyond a narrative fed to them by the very people they look to for guidance. I can't wait. I didn't raid in Vanilla, just got to lvl 48 when BC dropped, and haven't played psers...so I have no preconceived notions about what I can and can't do. I plan on raising some eyebrows and turning heads. That means I'm not listening to someone tell me to use a shit weapon and prop up the trash ass warrior whose on the top of recount anyway. Fuck that
That's exactly how I feel man. These kids have no scope of reality and have never played without every buff in the game stacked ontop of every debuff in the game skewing everything. Enhance can compete and do well if played to a high level. We will show them this in Classic.
Hey planning on playing enhancement in classic and curious if it's worth going for nightfall if I'm just trying to dps and totem twist, would it be worth it to get or would that just turn me into more of a buff bot
Tyler M if you’re looking to totem twist your individual dps is going to suffer a great deal. You won’t have mana to do much else unless you stack int/MP5 gear and then you’re gonna hit for nothing. So totem twisting IS a buff bot. There really isn’t anyway to do it + maximize your damage.
Are you sure you didn't compare overall MC DPS to you standing on a dummy hitting it like a raid boss? On top of that, did you make sure to not include obvious tank DPS rankins, such as Warrior tanks, which is going to further pull down the average DPS?
FedbergRoland initial DPS numbers are the average of the top 30 parses from each class, in each raid, without the use of world buffs. None of these parses are from tanks.
@@Holderhek Thanks. But are the parses from the entire MC or from specific bosses only? If from bosses, which ones? The number seem VERY low, which is why I suspect they're from an entier MC run, and not from individual bosses.
FedbergRoland This is what your dps looks like if you don’t use world buffs. I tested it against parses on the same dummy using different classes and they parsed similar to the chart data.
Yo Holder, what about the windfury vs GOA totem? I assume windfury brings alot more to the raid, or are you just straight up ignoring that and going for your own damage only?
Aapje I’ll definitely be dropping WF in raid. This was just to show max potential solo DPS self buffed. In a raid situation you have other class buffs to make up for not using GOA or totem twisting it in.
One interesting thing about this, its recorded on a private server. What patch is it on. does it still use the "infinite windfury proc" or does it use the 1.12 nerfed version of windfury.
Does twisting actually make it so that we can't use any other abilities? Or is it not that bad? I hope it isn't that bad, because I think the only way I get to raid on my enhance is if I twist :(
I want to point out.If you have no intellect on your gear. You are doing it wrong. Also If you need to have Spirit to recover health and Mana quickly. By the way. The reason you do not take Storm Strike is. That nature damage debuff anyone can use. So you end up wasting it an allowing someone else to get a powerful hit.
@@Holderhek went arsenal today for the weapon and it was pain in the ass running around with only mana for 1 or 2 totems all the time while the warriors went in tanking as arms and swimming in rage
Yeah you aren't gonna keep up with the AOE cleave of a warrior. It's just not gonna happen. Single target you'll do the same or more than warriors/rogues tho. Live for those single target moments, buff their cleave in the meantime.
also since glancing blows cannot crit so you theoretically need more than 33% to have 100% uptime on flurry. its something like 51% crit buffed which is obtainable around aq40.
also also, training dummies do not have the same stats as a 63 raid boss. resistances and armor values are not the same. That being said, as long as you baseline other classes on the same dummy then you can compare without issue.
Joe Reichel thanks for all the input and info! I did have other classes, specifically warriors and rogues test on these dummies. They got similar results to the raid parses so I was happy to post the numbers.
I just dont believe how you are pretty much saying with raid buffs enhance shamans are top dps... I have a full bis shaman with hand of rag in my guild. I have to scroll down to see him on the meter....
Bruh I made this video using target dummies and a test server eight months ago. Other classes, like warriors and rogues just scale better with world buffs. Enhance can still parse around 90th-95th percentile fury though and If your Shaman is having trouble dpsing you should send him to my channel.
@@gerrieherwijnen1088 I use miks scrolling battle text in classic. Honestly can't remember what I was using in this video 10 months ago is too long for my addled brain.

I love all these hype videos for meme specs before classic came out. Turns out everyone was right, not like all the data that enhance was garbo wasn't already out or anything
stormstrike fine for dungeons and pvp but why you wasting a debuff slot on storm strike in raids? that just being selfish to boost your own dmg only at the sacrifice of over-all raid dmg. like this build is insanely selfish only use it in raids if you pugging and don't plan to raid with that group again also unless you are the gm or friends with the gm good luck being given sulfuras. if you want to be in raids all the time go with a hybrid enhance/resto build focusing on applying either annihilator or nightfall debuff while totem twisting. with a supporter setup your own dps aint going to be chart topper but the amount of dps you adding to the entire raid is much higher than having a high dps on the meters. (you literally sacrificing 2-3 extra players worth of dps in a raid to not even beat out a warrior's dps) p.s. lol tauren shaman? if you supposedly about min maxing you should be troll or orc their racial much better for adding dps as well as having higher base strength and int over tauren
A bit of criticism: First problem: You only go for 8% hit, the hit cap in classic is 9%. I do like, that you fight for enhancement, way to go. But honestly, the numbers you pull are bogus. All you get out of such a video is people being excited for nehancement and then disappointed, when they don't even pull half the dps you show here. Buffing offspecs up with bad parses is jsut as bad as trying to put offspecs with bad parses. Your dmg parses are way over the top on both crits and windfury procs. If I'd look at any of your parses, I'd rate it extremely lucky. If this was truly the average parse, your server must be completely out of whack. Which I think is likely, because you never ever got dodged! Bosses have 6.5% dodge chance, you should have several dodges each parse. The highest dps of an enhancement shaman recorded on pservers was 450dps fully buffed in naxx. you claim to do this much dps unbuffed in prebis (and completely blow every other class out of the water with that). Don't you think somebody would have noticed over the many years of pservers how good enhance is, if your numbers were the norm? In your phase 1 parse you have an expected critchance vs bosses of 19% (actually 17%, but pservers are missing 1.8% crit suppression), your parse has 30%. Windfury wise, I assume in your favor and give 100% flurry uptime. You should have gotten 10 procs and got 12. Keep in mind, that 100% flurry uptime is very unlikely with this low critchance. Your phase 3 is very egregious. Crit chance is 27%, you had 39% crits. You should have gotten 9-10 windfury procs and got 16-17. This combined with no dodges makes your "average dps" easily more than twice as high as you would have realistically gotten. Your bis test. Oh dear. Crit is actually reasonable. 30% is expected and you only had 26%. But the windfury procs, oh my. 87 auto attacks in 2min with MoM? You are expected to get 9 windfury procs at 100% flurry uptime, that's 60 autoattacks in 2min. 87 means, you got an additional 18.5 windfury procs, i.e. TRIPLE the number of windfury procs you sohuld have gotten (27-28 out of 41 autoattacks + 6 stormstrikes). And your buffed test. Same deal. 43% crit fully world buffed with the gear is reasonable, but 98 autoattacks in 2:30 is almost as massive a windfury procrate as before.
dulkansilberaxt I addressed some of the weapon-speed/hit issues you brought up in my second video, there actually is a weapon speed bug that I fixed later on after finding it out. As per crits and crit suppression you may be right on that, I have no way to adjust my crit down given new bluepost info however I’m also not player crit buffed (beyond my grace of air which gives me another 4%), player ap buffed, haste buffed or any of the sort. The target dummy is also not affected by any debuff beyond sunders. As per 450 dps in Naxx being the "world record" parse...I was pulling 700+ back in vanilla retail in gear that was not nearly as good as my BiS test. This damage is entirely attainable, and even beyond this damage with world buffs etc. I stand by it and I will replicate it on classic.
@@Holderhek Can you respond to his comment on dodges? What server is this being tested on? The only way you can get an apples to apples comparison is to run parses for the specs you are comparing with as well. Just comparing your parses to private server stats of other specs is silly. I know for a fact there were very serious tryhard enh raiders on Elysium/LH and they didn't pull off anything close to the numbers you are touting.
this spec is glancing.exe which is solved if u jst go spell dmg int for twisting and elemental fury brother, rely on AP of world buffs and tell ur guild u are going to off heal using annihilator and nightfall. no reason to meme steal painweaver cape and other rogue warr loot. show selflessness and guild effort. never hold ur melee guildies back cause u wanna meme unless u wanna get bad reputation and end up in a trash PTR server hitting a dummy until aq. At least good for u going for titans instead of mana flask
