I actually did a presentation in collage on basically exactly this topic. The assignment was to create a presentation that would convince people to invest in or buy your product. I made the case for classical music to a group of 20 to 30 year olds by basically telling them they already were listening to it without knowing it. Then I played some excerpts from various Metallica songs that had been done with classical instrumentation and even the no leaf clover performance they did with the orchestra...which is probably in the top 10 of my favorite pieces of music ever.

This is my new favorite playlist! As a big fan of both metal and classical music, I had once begun to compile heavy pieces of classical music. It was mostly the typical pieces you'd expect: Bach's Toccata and Fugue, Holst's Mars, Bringer of War, Chopin's Funeral March, Rachmaninoff's Isle of the Dead, The Devil's Trill, A Night on Bald Mountain, etc. This list, however, is great! So many pieces I don't know so I've got new music to play! And I love listening to new music almost as much as I like listening to music I've listened to for decades. Thank you for this. 🤘🖤🤘

Vivaldi, a mathematician turned composer, was indeed a genius and knew why a proper climate needed 4 seasons and how it translated to human emotions. The key is not any one of the seasons or their equivalent emotion but the change that occurs and how each season in relation to one another transitions. I have always loved and enjoyed A. Vivaldi.

When I was at school in the 80’s my music teacher knew I was into Heavy Metal and especially bands like early Rainbow, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Helloween and Candlemass. It was he who first told me that a lot of the music I listen to had it’s roots in classical and the baroque period in particular, he gave me a number of pieces to listen to between lessons, from Henry Purcell to Handel and I absolutely flipped because he was right. Classical music and Metal music have walked side by side with me all my life since.

It sounds like you had an excellent music teacher! Many people think that classical and heavy music have nothing in common, but it's actually quite the opposite.

I've become a fan of Magma after listening to the Carmina Burana. But I've always loved Grieg, Bach and Stravinskij. Very different one to each other, but able to give me great emotions.

Špičkový výběr, Klasika je metal minulosti, je ale dokonalý i pro současnost. Miluju klasické provedení a stejně tak miluju, když klasiku vezmou do nástrojů metalové hvězdy. Dobrý výběr👍👍👍👍👍

I am glad to know I wasn't the only only who thought this way. I remember when I was supposed to be having my nap after morning kindergarden class, and my mom was in the garden, I would carefully put Mozart's Eine Kleine Nacht Muzik on the record player and listen to it ever so quietly as my ear was against the speaker. Nowadays I listen to Gaerea when I am driving, at a level that makes my better half, comment on the volume. I wish I could play, maybe I will find the time to practise.

Vivaldi would have invented Speedmetal or Techno or both. Years ago a i visited a friend in france and he had been a very talented gitarre player. He took his paper and instument, played the notes and when we all had been exited about this fast and powerful melodie, he just said: "This was music form the 13th century."

I had the good fortune in my career in live theatre to stand off stage to many world class orchestras and it never ceased to amaze me the strength and level of sound a 60 piece orchestra can achieve, I would almost say they could rival most of the rock PA systems I had heard over the years, and hearing some of these pieces live I would get goose pimps.

Mossorgsky - Night on bald mountain in the movie Fantasia (Disney) is one of the reasson why I fell in love with Music when I was a child. I play the tuba (is there any instrument more heavy and pure metal?) and of course, I love heavy metal!!! It's not on the list, but 1812 is quite a heavy masterpiece, I remember when I play it with my band, they bring bell and pirotecnia.... los pelos como escarpias...
