Thank you sooooo much for looking at Ahn Ye Eun and her unique colour! If you look into her background.. she had a heart condition and was not expected to live to adulthood, she was not able to go out and play with other children, so she spend a lot of time alone in the house learning music as a child. She comes to the music with a certain amount of melancholy and sadness, which obviously has contributed to her style. She also has so much humility, and just tries to be her best.
I don't assume she has a big international following like other kpop artists so its sort of difficult finding information about her in English, do you have any good links to English content about her?
I can't believe I watched this now. 😭 I love this artist so much since Kpop star. She has a heart condition and eczema and she also deals with mental health issues that she is getting treated for. Her 1st album was written when she was in her worst depressive stage and her 2nd was when she started treatment and her 3rd is her getting a lot better. She was surprised about how her lyrics reflected how she was doing and what she wanted to tell herself. she is so amazing and humble and talented and just is such an inspiration.
The more I get to know her the harder I stan her. I can’t imagine how torturing year long ezcema can be, I only have it seasonally and mildly compared to hers and I'm already dying. She's just amazing in so many ways and also seems down to earth like you could have a cultured conversation with over a meal. But truely as a non Korean listener, Im vibing along to her 1st and 2nd album then when I check up the lyrics, my face is like the surprised Joey meme from Friends. She conspired alot of dark emotions prolifically in the first 2 albums and dream in OOO album. I saw an rare subbed interview where she talked about the self hatred of a mental health obstacle she faced back then and that she took medication and therapy and the doctors dont judge you as much you think others might care to judge. Super proud of her spreadin that message out. Shes been ticking all the good points in my books. She even did some femenist podcast series which even covered sex ed and abortion I'd think remains fairly taboo.
Love her since Kpop star 5. Her music is like piercing your heart when you listen to it. Her lyrics are usually ironic, funny and sad at the same time.
9:22 honestly this year was hard, i had her on my spotify on repeat especially when im going to sleep, earphones full-volume. so that when i /shouldnt/ yell outloud and shiz, she would do it for me and in my mind, its like we're doing it together. listening to her music just feels like venting and comfort to me. shes hellaaaa good. what an artist.
Mate she was my soundtrack during lockdown last year. She has a song for every feeling and her emotions in the song jus feel right its not cliche or pressed it just narrated life well. I used stand outside and stare at the moon for 5 minutes in the cold whilst listening to Moonshadow, it felt beautiful. I'd listen to her albums when I worked from home and needed something predictable to listen to. I loved how spring alone accurately described not wanting to return to hustle and bustle of commuting to work when the economy opened back up again. She just hits differently to the point I splurged and bought all available physical albums she had (except Waltz) in one hit and joined her naver fancafe (credits to google translate for getting me past registration). I've not done that with many artists. It's a pity she doesn't have much of a visible following outside of Korea but maybe small fanbase is nice too.
Oooh my god I love her music sooooo much and I’m so happy you guys covered her! My favorites are pirouette and star, dear, star, especially star dear star (it’s a good tear jerker for me haha)
Oh yes! Ahn Ye Eun! I love her so much and I'm so happy you reacted to her. She's such an amazing vocalist. I hope to see more Ahn Ye Eun on your channel :D
The singing style reminds me of old folk singing. At least similar to Tatara Onna Work song from Mononoke they have the high notes at the end that she does.
I am so happy Ahn Yeeun is recognized on this channel! Thank you so much!! She is such an unique and creative artist and I wish to see more videos of Classical Musicians reacting to her music. I'm sure they'll enjoy other songs of her too. The well known songs of her are Red Tie and Magic Lily. I literally cried after watching her singing Women's March. I watched the video on National Liberation Day of Korea and it reminded me of painful history we have. Here's the link(It has Eng sub) : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ITDlWk_8QQY.html I'd love to suggest the making film video for better understanding of this song but sadly it doesn't have subtitles. This song was a project to bring more attention to forgotten female independence activists who fought for liberation. Activists shown on the video have planned and took big part in the most well known independence movement of Korea and they were imprisoned and tortured. The lyrics were actually sung by the activists in prison and passed down to an activist's son who wrote down the lyrics. 15th of August is National Liberation Day of Korea and I really wish you guys can take time to appreciate this song and the important history of Korea.
This song has similar vibe folks song because of traditional asian music vibe, vibe that bittersweet and sorrowful melodies has combined with string instruments, a grief from slowly lost beloved ones
Ayahyaya crazy I just found her bc she has the voice that I keep trying to find. It’s so beautiful. This is probably the song I’m most attached to. ... maybe her music generally is what I love
I espeically recommend "Shipwreck" from that album. It's crazy sooooo crazy and someone says it feels like jazz or dark jazz... Im not an expert so I don't no what is accurate. So I want to know reaction of you. I think, this song can you guys talk about a lot musically.
How about reacting her new album? I recommend you listen to the whole album. It's amazing and every track says one story. Each track says the part of a whole story. When I listen the album, I feel like reading a novel.
Wow impresive! First time hear her voice. Really feel it! Doesnt even understand a word, cant speak korean but the song does bring its message. Music for me is always breaks languange barrier. Love it. Oh btw can you guys react to lee jin ah yum yum yum live performance? If u can, thankyou
😲 I thought you guys knew this girl ald..Her KPOP star performance was amazing. She is an artist..and only artist know how to appreciate her song (Reacttothek) 😉
I think for her arragement skills you should defınetely react to her song Mr Mistery from the audition show Kpop star. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rAolIl2fqyQ.html she was just amazing. She blew all the judges minds
Can you please react to Golden Child’s Wannabe performance on road to kingdom? They use a lot of classical instruments and one of their members has a violin solo in the middle of the song
