I heard only once that Dimash had trouble to control his voice and emotions - during another tribute - to his friend who was barely older than him - the olympionic figure skating medalist Denis Ten. Denis who died barely 2 months before his London concert during a mindless robbery stabbed to death. They planned to perform together in London and from the moment he looked behind him on the screen showing Denis skate he practically had to fight through his signature SOS with his back mostly to the audience barely able to finish the song and practicaly fleeing the stage in tears. It was a heartbreaking tribute and people understood what was going on but it was way to early for him to handle emotionally.
I saw the London concert on YT and cried and cried hard at Dimash's distress as he left the stage, almost at a run. When you see someone you love in pain and emotional distress, you cannot but help but feel it as well. I feel it with this song too, we all do. I cry every time I see this performance, too. Such sorrow is overwhelming. I don't know how he kept it together. I can only imagine how he must have struggled through the rehearsals 😔 😥
@@Jeannine2007 Yeah, he wanted to honour his friend and he did it, but it was so hard to watch, seeing him in pain. Like I said it was way too early to handle emotionally. I lost a good friend when I was a year younger than Dimash, it was neither so violent nor really surprising as he was ill all his life but it was sudden and it was the first time to loose someone close to my own age. I was crying for months every time some little thing made me think of him. On a stage, 2 months later, watching a life-sized recording... I wouldn't have lasted 2 seconds.
Buona sera.

I'm so sorry that you have been sick. :( I hope that you will recover fully and soon. Thank you for coming back to do Dimash's beautiful tribute to his teacher/mentor/friend with Qaragym-ai. This is so personal, beautiful, personal, emotional, and powerful. Thank you, please take care as you recover.
Hi Josh, so lovely to see you, I'm so sorry for what you and your family had to go through, but I'm very glad that you are still here. Absolutely lovely reaction to a beautiful song by beautiful Dimash. I hope you stay well and your family are well, and hopefully a happier New Year. 💖💖💖
When Dimash sang SOS at the London concert in tribute to his friend Dennis Ten, he had to go off the stage immediately afterwards to recover his emotions.
you prolly dont care but if you are bored like me atm you can stream pretty much all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my gf recently =)

👉The 60th Qazaqconcert 2020 (TV broadcast) was also used for a memorial ceremony for the people who died of Covid-19. Dimash sang this song for his professor and mentor Kenes Duisekeev (photo), the composer of this melody, who recently passed away from Covid-19. When Kenes Duisekeev set the words of the Kazakh poet Shomishpay Sariev to music and composed this melody, he remembered his sister (one of 13 brothers) who died at the age of 19 before she could marry. Sariev wrote the poem for his daughter, who got married and left the house. He wondered what her life would be like and wished her a life full of love. Life is short and without love it would be sad and empty. When Dimash sang this for the first time in 2016 (for the composer's 70th birthday), he interpreted it completely differently and the composer Kenes Duisekeev was overwhelmed: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gHgoQRVVy5o.html (Please react to this)🌼🇩🇪 👉 Qarağım-ay (Қарағым-ай) /Apple of My Eye/ My Dear (*Term in a parent-child relationship, here, father-daughter*) Apple of my eye The beauty should be in this way It lands to a head without wishing People were visitors in life This world was actually short Apple of my eye Gazelles were gushing like this Who can block you in your way? Dear Josh, thank you for your reaction! Wish you full recovery! This song was written as a hymne for love in our life. But Dimash sings it with his actual feelings. He begins to lost his loved ones. And it is RIP and GOODBYE for his teacher and friend. KENES Kenes Duisekeev. By the way, all kasakh words have stress on the last syllable. Both musicians on the stage, piano player and singer, were the pupils of Kenes.
Josh. So glad you’re feeling better. Sorry to hear you got COVID. This song makes me cry every time I hear him sing this. It’s the saddest I’ve ever seen Dimash. Dimash has a live concert on January 16. The dears are super excited because it’s been a rough year. Take care
I‘m glad you feel better and I hope you recover the 20% quickly. Kenes wasn’t only Dimash’s teacher at university and mentor, he was a grandfatherly friend for him too. In the interview on Dimash’s RU-vid channel (about 40 minutes long) Dimash is talking about Kenes. It must have been really rough for Dimash to make it through this song. His facial expressions says it all. He sings this song so beautifully... in part like a grieving human, and in part like an angel giving someone a sendoff to heaven. Thank you for your heartfelt reaction. I appreciate a lot that you prepared yourself well with informations about the song before reacting to it. And thank you for sharing your personal stories with us.
Hello, I missed your reactions a lot, they are perfect, well-balanced, calm and so real, I am glad that you have overcome the disease and I wish you and your loved ones a lot of health and perseverance. Dimash gives us all hope and light for each day to come. (Poland)
Qaragym-ai 60th Anniversary KazakhConcert Not a new song but a new arrangement of Karagym-ai, you need to know the reason why he did this for the 60th Anniversary KazakhConcert. His professor, mentor and good friend Kenes Duysekeev died from covid-19 in July 2020 and Dimash was very close to him, very fond of him, so it hit him very hard. He wanted to do this as a tribute to him and to rearrange the song to show the respect Dimash had for this very talented teacher, composer, poet and very nice man. Kenes composed this song 20 years ago, and when Dimash first asked if he could perform this song when he was around 18/19 Kenes doubted that at such a young age Dimash would be able to put across the meaning and intense emotions in this song, so he asked Dimash to sing it for him beforehand. When he heard and saw how Dimash could absolutely put across the deep meanings and emotions he was very happy to give him the song to perform. This newly arranged performance is in my opinion a triumph, Dimash's perfect vocals are heartbreakingly beautiful and just having a piano, and no audience, perfect ❤ it is terribly sad and Dimash transmits his heartbreak impeccably 😥 also credit to the pianist who played this piece to perfection 🌟
This sickness is horrible, we are the lucky ones, I hated the fever and nightmares, I lost 20 pounds, I got my sense of smell and taste a couple of weeks later but my suster still 7 months later didn't. I'll pray you get better soon...
This translation via Gloria Wu seems to make more sense to me: My Dear, You make me realise what beauty is Some are fortunate to have it all We are just guests in the world Our lives are indeed too short My Dear You are graceful as a deer Who will be there for you along the way? Why does my soul weep? Who are you destined to be with? My Dear You enthrall me with your glance You dazzle me with your beauty My Dear As this life passes by Without love, it is all in vain All the pages of one's life Are worthless compared with one day in love My dear You enthrall me with your glance You dazzle me with your beauty (x2)
Josh, your "visit" today reminds us that we are all fragile, all riding the waves of change in our lives, and equally blessed to hear the music that stirs our souls. To life!!
Dear Josh, I wish you a quick and complete recovery for you and your wife! This is my first day after quarantine because my daughter dealt with covid too. Kenes Duisekeev was not only the mentor of Dimash but a friend, that Dimash lost to covid. To sing this song like this is Dimash`s way to deal with it and to process. I already loved this song before as he sang it when he was young. But this one is full of emotion, mourning and love for his lost one, that it`s even more wonderful. The setting and music with only the piano arouse the feeling of intimacy and nearness. And I could listen to this type of music hour by hour. I`m looking forward to Dimash`s online concert on Saturday!! And to your following reactions to Dimash! Best wishes from Germany
Hi Josh. I liked your comments, as always. And I am so glad that you are coming off the covid well. I missed your reactions but, like everyone on this channel, I'll know how to wait if necessary; reactions are secondary, your health and yours are not. For moments of decay I listen to Olimpico; with once I recover the energy; really inspires. I look forward to your reaction to this one. I wish you a complete improvement.
Simplesmente Sublime!! O pianista foi espetacular!! O cenário maravilhoso!! Continue apreciando Dimash no Concerto de Kiev / Ucrânia - Autumn Strong e know e Marigold . Você vai gostar foi incrível! 👏🏿👏🏽👏🏽👏🏾👏🏼👏🏼👏🏻🎶🎶🎶💞💞🇧🇷🇧🇷
So happy for you that you overcame this disease relatively unscathed. Where I live everyone has medical insurance that is affordable. I hope that in the richest country in the world this will be available for everybody one day. Every time I watch this performance I have to cry..It is so powerful and emotional. As to Dimash's wisdom I think it is inborn but also nourished by his grandmother who did most of his upbringing while his parents were finishing their education and working. His siblings are a lot younger, so he spent much of his childhood alone with her. In Kazachstan tradition has it that the first born son is given back to the paternal grandmother. I hope you and your wife will fully recover and that we will see more reaction videos in the future.
I am so glad you broke from your usual Dimash journey to listen to this. It is so special. I was waiting for you to do this. Didn’t know you had been ill. Relieved you have recovered . Take care.
Hi Josh! I am really pleased to know you are getting better, your reactions are pretty special to me. I heard your cover of "Hold on", it means the world to me until today! I've been struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts for so long, that song gave me a glimpse of hope! Thank you!
Wish you a swift and complete recovery! I was shocked by your loss of weight. For translations of Dimash songs, please check out those from the Dimash USA Fan Club, available on Instagram @dimashtranslations. Some of the songs in Kazakh have been transliterated (in American pronunciation) on RU-vid by Dimash USA as well. The word Karagym-ai is better translated as O Dearie or Darling but this particular term is only for a child, not a spouse or lover, which is why this translator used “apple of my eye”. Btw, one of my (7) kids is also digitalizing in his spare time the tons of video tapes of their childhood. I totally get it.
I am glad you reacted to this song. Please listen to another version in 2016 ! He sang the same song in the concert of his teacher and mentor Keneth Duisekeev's 70th anniversary. It's really beautiful and captivating as well. I hope you and your family will fully recover soon!
Yes as u said, Dimash sang the song and Kenes gave him a standing ovation. They became very close friends, Kenes (Professor of music) became Dimashes teacher . Kenes died thru covid, and asked Dimash to sing this as a tribute. I do not know how he managed it at all. I listen to this performance often. It brings great emotions and memories of my son, creating such emotional connections it's difficult to get thru, yet somehow it is healing too. Amazing young man. Gr8 response. I'm so pleased you are recovering yourself. Very challenging. I have a relative in the similar position. Take the time you need and don't overdo things. 👌
Am glad you're back! Praise the Lord you are able to recover, stay healthy and safe . Thanks for your reaction, this song is really heartbreaking and I could feel Dimash, a real tribute to his mentor
Sálem, Josh! Good to see you again. We missed you . I hope you're feeling much better. Get well soon. Thank you very much for your kind and sincere reaction, however, as always. From Russia.
Josh, I'm glad to hear that you and your wife are recovering well from covid. What a horrid experience for you both. Thanks for reacting to this beautiful song, Kenes passed away from covid in July 2020, and he was dearly loved by Dimash.
I'm so sorry to hear about your recent dealings with Covid 😰 I'm thankful you both are doing ok and wish for no long term effects!! This song just breaks my heart listening to Dimash and his raw pain and even bitterness that comes through. Dimash is indeed one incredibly special young man and for sure an old soul! 💜💜💜 Take care and good health to you and your family!!
Hi Josh, So terribly sorry to hear of you and your families struggle through a battle with this dread disease! Happy to hear you and your wife have recovered! Many prayers for you and your family! You touch my heart with your commentary reflecting your own story while connecting it with Dimash’s back story of losing this friend, grandfatherly figure, mentor! We may all be of different backgrounds, ethnicity, race, religion but we are one as a people with feelings and families! So my prayers are for the people of the world to bring back caring and love for one another as brothers and sister! Dimash is working tirelessly to foster this attitude by sharing his amazing gift with the world community and bringing us together with the universal language of beautiful music! He is a “True gift from God” to the world for these times! Keep shinning on Dimash... You are LOVE and in return are so very LOVED! God Bless and Thank You!
How I hate it on RU-vid that one cannot enjoy a whole video anymore because the last seconds the proposed videos already pop up and prevent you to see the last sequences. Right, Dimash is an old soul, just like MJ. Speedy recovery for you and your wife.
Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to skip the concert. I am only to late 2018 of his journey with my reactions and I'm sure he will be performing many new songs. Thank you for your support of my channel.

I always very hard listening to this special performance - but with your understanding reaction I can master it. It’s an incredible and once live performance - a Juwel. Love from Austria🇦🇹
Sorry to hear you had contracted covid! Wish you prompt full recovery! This song is really beautiful and your reaction is very sensitive and nice to watch!
Dear Josh, I wish you a full recovery and, please, take care of yourself. We are indeed living difficult and strange days. All the best from Porto, Portugal
From my heart I am so glad that you have overcome this episode of health, that you continue to recover just like your wife. Thank you for sharing your experience, lots of energy and light for you and your family 🙏🌻🇳🇮. Grettings from Nicaragua 🇳🇮
I was already missing your reactions to Dimash 💙 I'm so sorry you got sick but luckily you are getting over it🥰best wishes to you and your family🤗 always waiting for reactions to Dimash 💙 greatings from Montreal 🇨🇦
Hi Josh, glad you are back, (you are the second reactor who had COVID) Please take care of yourself. Learn Khazak with Zhannour on RU-vid!! She will have how to pronounce words correctly. Dimash is an old soul and reading a few interviews about his philosophy on life and seeing how kind he is to mature people in an airport that needed help and he was younger than he is now. If you look at S O S from 2019 ARNAU CONCERT IN ASTANA he was in a globe above the crowd singing S O S & a video of his friend and Olympic figure skater, Denis Ten, was playing but it was supposed to be Denis. In February of that year he was attacked and stabbed while leaving practice so this was his Tribute to Denis and his parents. He sang it well but in February he was at The O2 in London doing his concert & has just been given the news and he left the stage quickly. At that time he lost a Guitarist, too. Also, many of the Khazakh songs are rather sad. I love them. Thank you for reaction and I will try to get you links to one of the singers from Forestella who sang solo all the Parts in Phantom Of The Opera. His name is Hang Kuyang Ho. Also, Hua Chenyu sang at The New Year’s Gala, 3 songs and his voice is wonderful and his clothes were amazing. I will get the link. This has been a hard last year and ad of last Wednesday, we are in a volatile situation. It takes time to recover so just take it slow. I hope you and your wife will feel recovered very soon.
Felicidades!!
Welcome back and good to know you are recovering, best wishes for you and your family. Think this performance was the right one for you to do now, the emotions are heartbreaking but so beautiful. Thank you for the reflective take on this reaction and for paying attention to the lyrics and the backstory too. Stay safe!
So sorry to hear of your illness, but glad for your recovery of course. This is, indeed, one of Dimash's most powerful performances and the emotion just fills the air. Will be looking forward to your next reaction to a song of his.
